Traffic incidents, Speed traps Police Trap
Dear S/M
Im a very keen Waze user, the only suggestion I would like to make is regarding announcements of speed and police traps or other traffic incidents. These according to my driving experience using Waze should be made not only once or little bit earlier but also at least three times (for ex. 1x1000m 2x500m 3x200m) before arriving at the certain point.
Especially the ones reported by the other Waze users, because oftenly for example when I see something to report, it takes other 200-300 meters until I take the phone in my hand and finally push the reporting…7 votes -
Estimated time in traffic notification
When I commute to or from work, I get "Estimated time in traffic" multiple times on the way. Presently, there is no way to disable that notification without disabling all notifications. I would like an option to disable this notification.
I don't need that notification, yet I still want some notifications, police, accidents, etc. I don't need to know how long I will be in traffic, considering the arrival time doesn't change with this traffic notification.1 vote -
When launching Waze app during dark times, have app utilize light sensor to start in night mode.
App starts up in day mode during dark hours and doesn't switch until route is planned. Utilize light sensor or time of day to cause it to startup in the appropriate mode for the time/light of day.

Declutter map
There are too many icons that clutters map, such as having 4 or more Traffic Light Cameras or numerous parking options near the destination. Often, the parking suggestions are not even close by, and makes the map very cluttered and difficult to see the route

Enhanced Hazard Reporting by adding "Affecting Flow of Traffic" option
Everybody has seen a car on the side of the road but how many of those are actually affecting the flow of traffic? People post them to gain points but often times it is not useful information.

How the traffic represented on the map
Hey, you have a great app, really. But one thing is weird and sometimes nervous.
So during the navigation, I have many variations of the route. But sometime traffic may be unpredictable. So I want to be able to see what traffic is on the parallel/closest streets, it will help me to decide should I drive as Waze says me, or I can quickly change the route. But unfortunately, Waze does not show me the traffic at the parallel streets. Actually, Waze shows the traffic at the closest streets but not for all streets. Give us a target speed in traffic jams to help Waze users optimize average throughput
I recently read this article: http://www.bbc.com/autos/story/20160428-how-ai-will-solve-traffic-part-one
It talks about how going slower and keeping more space between your car and other cars can actually improve the flow of traffic when it's all jammed up. It also explains how autonomous cars will make this work much better, but also indicates that we can help improve things now by changing our driving behavior.
The article also explains how the highway patrol sometimes sends cars through traffic jams on the highway to break it up and re-channelize it.

Add routes that *avoid* red light and speed cameras similar to routes that avoid tolls.
Similar to routes that avoid tolls there should be routes that avoid speed cameras and red light cameras.

Ignore Traffic Option for Real Time Road Closures
For Real Time Road Closures, please add the option to "Ignore segment traffic". Currently if there is any traffic detected on a Closed segment, the Closure will be put into Suspend mode. This can be problematic since some Waze users choose to ignore a closure, because they can't "see" any backed up traffic due to the closure, and will cause the closure to be paused until enough traffic has been stopped behind the closure and the segment detects no more movement. “Avoid difficult intersections” option is available in Navigation settings. Should ease the issue if not eliminate it.

I miss the listing of traffic on the old app. It appears you can only see the traffic by looking at the map now.
If you're looking to see the traffic along several routes, this was the fastest way to tell.

Show slow traffic in yellow or red
Even if users don't send a notification of slow traffic, if the system detects that a few users are slowing down, change the display of the road to yellow or red. Currently, on the 118 freeway there are some spots about 2 miles long that are very slow, however Waze shows normal.

Traffic control button
It would be nice to have a button to mark where there are traffic controls, but not by the police. Often there are vehicle control done by the government. Such a warning button to mark in the map would be nice.

Warn oncoming traffic for ALL events
We cannot warn the oncoming users for all of the issues they can meet on the road.. Speed checks it's ok, but not the traffic jams or for the cars that have to stop on the side of the road for instance...
