1. Notifications for Commuting times

   It would be great if Waze could send out a notice when my commute dropped below a certain time.

   I like to keep working until my commute drops to below 35 minutes. If I could get a push notification when that was the case (maybe I could designate the start point, end point and the relevant time frame), then I could stop checking the app every 20 minutes.

2. City Mobility Indicator

   City Mobility Indicator:

   Mobility is key to our lives. The more mobility a city offers to its citizens the better the city is.

   Waze has gathered enough information to provide a worldwide indicator to how efficient, mobility wise, a city is.

   All Waze has to do is rank cities combining the agility to go from point A to point B and the usage of mass transportation systems (MTS).

   The cities with more agility (speed / easiness) and more use of MTS are the ones with better mobility and the ones better ranked.

   Users could input the quality of the mass transportation system and Waze would get even more customer engagement! Some of the key point could be the availability (how many bus/subway stops, the frequency of the service and hours of operation), cleanness, air-conditioning, safety, etc.

   This could serve the users as well city planners and have a profound social effect.

3. A few user stories for supporting BEV / electromobility in Waze

   Dear Wazers,

   I have been using your product far before "the Google times." When I first downloaded Waze, the road to my home was not "Wazed-paved" yet, so I had to pave it myself :). Anyway, that's not what I'm writing you about. I want to extend a request to you through a few user stories, which would significantly enhance my electromobility driving experience. I hope you're already thinking in that direction, and we'll see enhancements for BEV (battery-electric vehicles) soon.

   There're plenty of elecromobile-specific apps, but Waze is my current choice for a guidance app. As such, I am suffering because I need to switch back/forth from Waze to another app when it comes time to plan a long drive.

   If you would like to enhance our experience with Waze easily, you could partner with the two most powerful solutions, PlugShare and abetterrouteplanner.com (of course, if they agree). But I think you're big enough to believe in enhancing your app by yourself and giving us the functionality to fulfill our e-mobility needs.

   I took the liberty to draft a few user stories, which I can find very useful. Although all of them will give excellent functionality to Waze, the first one is the most important, which would position Waze as the first massively used navigation software which incorporates proper functionality for e-mobility. I hope you have plans to win this market even better.

   In any case, here're the stories. Each story has a justification/overview to it.

   As a user, I need to see charging stations on the map so that I can plan my travel accordingly

   This one is the "mother of all e-mobility" stories. Of course, it's so big that it's easily epic, but shortly said, we, the users, need a way to see the charging stations on the map.

   The distinguished properties of each charger on the map should be like those below:

     name: "Awesome charger" # The name of the charging station, user free-form
     owner: "EVPoint" # the charging station owner
     description: "Please use our apps, available at our home page https://evpoint.bg/, to activate the charger."
     max-power: 150 # the maximum power, in kW, of the whole station. Sometimes people use only this parameter to judge the power delivery speed, but often it's necessary to have granulation per socket.
     connectors: # Lists all charging connectors available at the station. This is a good reference for it: https://evcharging.enelx.com/resources/blog/552-ev-charging-connector-types
       - CCS2: # CCS2 charging connectors at the station
           - count: 2 # two CCS2 charging connectors
           - max-power: 75 # 75 kW max power each
       - CHADEMO: # Chademo connectors at the station
           - count: 1 # one Chademo connector
           - max-power: 50 # 50 kW max power 
   

   The description might seem optional, but without it we will need a place to know the URL from which we will access the charging app. Usually, most of the manufacturers have their specific apps. So any particular data on how to access the station services is put in this field.

   A very important part of this functionality is the filters. When a BEV travels a long distance, we usually use the fact DC-chargers. These give us a charge for approx 100-150 miles (150-250 km) in 10-20 minutes. Most of these chargers are located near (or directly as part of) existing gas stations.

   As part of an MVP, I would accept the first four fields, with the ability to filter by max-power. However, an "MVP-2" stage with the connectors property, and the ability to filter by their type, will be a must since not all cars support all connectors. For example, a TESLA might have its own connector only, and my car has only CCS2 for DC charging.

   As a user, I would like to enter my BEV range so that Waze helps me plan longer rides

   This is a must if I could use Waze as my assistant for BEV travels. My vehicle has a range (let's simplify this for now - just a number of km or miles in my account).

   Based on this range, Waze could show me in a friendly way, directly over my travel map, where my coverage ends. Then I can zoom in, choose a suitable charging station, and plan my ride accordingly (see below). For this, Waze has to have support for more than one Stops (I think right now you allow only one stop, but even this would do, for an MVP, it's more than OK).

   As a user, I need better support for community-driven charging station data and status

   The community feedback is critical since the map is not yet saturated with chargers. Thus, having the ability to rate/comment on each charging station is a functionality that I use very often. When I plan my trip, I usually avoid chargers, where the community says "broken." And when a charger comes back online, the community is very fast to indicate this.

   The best way to leave feedback is to indicate if any user had a successful charging session. A simple Yes/No would do. The system can then calculate an overall rating per charger and display it in a Rating section. The written feedback from each user can also be displayed there (if there's such a given with the "Charge-successful/unsuccessful" rate).

4. please stop ruining my life

   i beg for the life of me and my neighborhood for WAZE to stop posting baxter st on their map as a faster route to the freeway/other. It causes such a traffic and danger to peoples lives. people in this community know how to navigate and drive through these hills because we live here and it is our life, but when WAZE advertises it as a quick solution, we experience traffic volumes for the first time ever, and we experience danger from incompetent and dangerous drivers, who break the law and create traffic. PLEASE I BEG OF YOU WAZE, STOP POSTING BAXTER ST. as a way of quick transportation. its caused so many accidents and so much unnecessary drama in my neighborhood.

5. Hazard reporting when not driving

   There needs to be a way to report hazards after you’ve driven / not while your in the current area. I’ve been in multiple situations where there has been a hazard like a crash or roadworks where i’m not in a position to be using my phone while driving as to fully pay attention to my surroundings. I feel only having hazard reporting able to work while driving is a bit dangerous and by including the ability to report things you’ve encountered on your drive at home or when your not behind the wheel would benefit the safety of yourself and other Waze users.

6. Opening Waze on Apple Carplay cuts off radio - doesn't with other map apps

   When I open Waze on Apple Carplay in my car my music/radio will stop playing (switches from Radio/Sirius to iPod on my Pioneer Nex). I have to manually go back and turn the music back on. This doesn't happen when I open Google Maps or Apple Maps.

8. Recognise when I’m behind a very slow moving vehicle and offer a New route around this vehicle

   I suggest adding a feature that detects when I'm driving much slower than the speed limit on a road. The app could then ask if I'm in heavy traffic or behind a very slow-moving vehicle. If it's the latter, like being stuck behind a garbage truck making frequent stops, the app could suggest alternative routes to bypass the slow vehicle and reach my destination faster.

9. Siri Shortcuts for reporting - PLEASE

   How about enabling Siri interaction so users can report things hands-free? “Siri, tell Waze to report police” or “Siri, tell Waze to report a stopped vehicle on the shoulder” would be a lot safer and easier while driving than fumbling with the phone or CarPlay UI. Please consider it.

10. Please give the ability to turn off the "carpool" button

    The carpool button is the bane of my Waze existence. Whenever I pick up my phone from the little pocket area in the car and Waze is running, it triggers this "carpool" button. Then it takes both hands to swipe from the far left side of the screen to make it go away. I won't ever use the carpool function and would love to be able to hide it and stop this from happening. I know it sounds trivial, but it's maddening to deal with.

11. I don't like the new waze. Can't stop navigation after it starts.

    I don't like the NEW Waze. Can't stop navigation once it starts unless I close the app completely. Make it bigger on the iphone so I can leave my phone on the dash while driving.

12. Support for dimensions and combinations such as caravans

    I propose that Waze allows users to save multiple vehicles, each with their own dimensions, including height, width, and length. It should also be possible to add vehicle combinations, such as a car with a caravan or trailer, where the additional dimensions are automatically taken into account during route planning.

    Users could then manually select the appropriate vehicle or combination before starting a trip, or Waze could automatically detect the vehicle via CarPlay or Android Auto.

    It is essential that Waze takes infrastructure limitations into account—such as bridge heights, narrow roads, sharp turns, and low tunnels—so that any routes that could pose a risk based on the vehicle’s dimensions are automatically avoided. This would make Waze a more reliable option for drivers of larger or specialized vehicles.

13. Category Icons and Provider indicator in Search Autocomplete results

    When we view Search autocomplete results, and even when we view "more" results
    * Show category icons, so we can see the difference between a grocery store, a gas station, and a bus stop. This icon could be in the donut hole in the middle of the pin icon.
    * Also indicate which are from Waze and which are from external providers (perhaps by putting a blue colored pin for Waze results and a gray colored pin for Google results, for example

    Use case:
    If I search for "Giant Eagle Verona" in Pennsylvania, USA, the results include
    * The Giant Eagle Grocery store in Verona PA (waze result)
    * A Bus stop on Verona Rd in another town (Google result - named "Giant Eagle (Verona Rd) at Entrance")
    * A GetGo gas station in Verona PA, a couple blocks from the grocery store

    This can be a little bit confusing to the user. How can they be certain if the first result is the correct one? Providing readily-available information like the category (indicated with a picture / icon) would make it easier to make a correct decision.

    And would also showcase Waze results, which are quite often more accurate than Google Maps search results.

15. Be able to actively switch Toll roads on or off in Apple CarPlay app.

    Hi,

    Like Google Maps in Australia, within Apple CarPlay, you are able to navigate to a settings page, where you can turn on or off a host of functions.

    One of which, is a toggle to avoid Toll Roads.

    This feature would be very handy, as its the only thing stopping me from using the application as my main map system.

16. Traffic reports should end at logical intersection

    Traffic reports should end at the next logical intersection: I am active with reporting traffic, because I hope the people leaving after me benefit from the reports. The cars stopped on the road don't care about the map editor and, most times, the traffic is at least running through to the next intersection.

    That being said, MANY of my traffic reports stop randomly due to the segments drawn in the map editor. This is illogical.

    (I get 'yelled at' for multiple reports when I try to update the true distance of the dead-stop traffic and this would be an easy way to alleviate the issue. It would also provide a more accurate picture of where the cars are stopped.

17. police reports

    Hi, I would like to make a suggestion for us waizers that will be very helpful. Perhaps you can add a choice to click on police report that is in the screen so that we just press on it instead of going to Reports then choosing police and then sending it. Please take in consideration that we are driving and most Likely can't stop and enter report and that by the time we enter the report we are ways further from the area we saw the police. I think everyone will benefit from this easy way to report and we will be able to aware other users much faster. Thanks

18. Resuming your current drive

    When my current drive was interrupted, waze used to ask if I wanted to resume my current drive whilst showing a progress bar slowly moving. If I didn't respond it would simply resume my drive. This was handy since I didn't have to take my eyes off the road to respond, yes. Now all of a sudden, it doesn't show the progress bar and waits for me to click yes. If I don't respond the current drive now stops and I have to enter my destination again and start a new drive. What changed and can I get the progress bar back?

19. Please get the driver display working for AAOS

    Im sure everyone noticed this right away that waze is not working on the driver display, which is how these systems were designed to be used. Please get this working ASAP so i can stop using Google maps.

20. Stop making people sync to our contacts or facebook. I deleted the latest version.
