International Land Border Wait Time Predictions
Dear Waze Team,
I would like to suggest a feature enhancement that could significantly improve the accuracy of ETA predictions for routes involving international land borders, such as those between the USA and Canada or the USA and Mexico.
Current Situation:
At present, it appears that Waze calculates ETA for routes involving international land borders based on general traffic data. This approach treats the border crossing as a regular segment of the journey, comparing travel times between points A and B without considering the unique delays associated with border crossings.Proposed Enhancement:
To provide more accurate ETAs and better routing options, I propose that Waze integrates more detailed data analysis specifically for land border crossings. This could involve:Border-Specific Data Collection: Analyze the time it takes for drivers to move from the point they reach the border crossing line to the point they clear the crossing. This data should be collected continuously to capture variations throughout the day and week.
Real-Time Updates: Provide real-time updates on wait times at border crossings, similar to how traffic congestion is currently reported.
Alternative Routing: Use the detailed wait time data to offer more effective rerouting suggestions. If a particular crossing has a significant delay, Waze could suggest alternative crossings with shorter wait times.
User Feedback Integration: Allow users to report their wait times and border experiences, enhancing the data pool and improving prediction accuracy.
Benefits:
- Increased Accuracy: More precise ETA calculations for routes involving international borders.
- Improved User Experience: Users will have a clearer understanding of potential delays, allowing for better travel planning.
- Enhanced Routing: More effective reroutes can save time and reduce congestion at heavily impacted crossings.Implementing these features would make Waze an even more valuable tool for travelers who frequently cross international land borders. Thank you for considering this suggestion.

Sloping / inclined streets
In Latam and some other cities I have known, there are streets with inclines of more than 15° and some vehicles cannot drive up these roads due to several factors.
1) low power vehicles
2) Motorcycles
3) climatic factors that prevent the vehicle to go up this road.
4) vehicles parked on the sides that prevent other vehicles from passing. It would be interesting to make waze as well as avoid freeway roads we can add the inclination and avoid it.

Big "stop Waze" button
Sometimes (often) you just want to stop and close Waze. But you have to go through menus, which is DANGEROUS while driving. There should be a big readily-visible X on the main navigation screen. Or alternatively, a big readily-visible MUTE button.

Would love to have integration with Overcast and other podcast apps with waze. It’s great to have Spotify but having the same integration with other podcast apps.

Fuel prices
In Germany there are apps showing the actual fuel price.
This information is delivered by the "Bundeskartellamt", nearly in realtime!
Would it be possible to integrate this in WAZE ?
Link to the Bundeskartellamt (in german):

add a plugin method, e.g. radar detector
There is an iPhone app called "radar active" that allows realtime updates of speed traps. The sounds various radar detectors make (or dataports like on the Valentine V1) could be used to automatically add speed-trap / false alarm information to the map. Android has easy ways to add external hardware, but the microphone could be used on any platform with the right audio processing software.

Free road - Green road
Let us see not only the traffic jams. Let us see the free road. Free roads may be highlighted in green. This will help to better assess the condition of the roads.

Expire events option
Give a general or category specific option to delete/expire events. e.g. most crashes/accidents are cleared in 30 minutes or less, yet the event lingers in Waze for 2 hours or more. So let the user chose how old an event will be displayed.

Display destination on screen during navigation
Lately, I have repeatedly run into situations where, after driving for 1-2 hours, I have doubts whether I have selected the right destination. To be able to check this, I have to interrupt the navigation. This usually causes distractions while driving.
My suggestion is to introduce a display of the current destination above the estimated travel time field. This feature would be especially beneficial when using the Apple CarPlay integration. It would help users like me to always keep the desired destination in view, thus eliminating the dangerous interruptions during the drive.41 votes -

Combine waze and google maps
It would be better to allocate servers for long trips as well. It would make Waze better. Also, why not incorporate the waze reporting and crowdsourcing features into Google maps? I would even pay a monthly subscription for that.

Speed camera, police and booze bus
Have speed camera, police and booze buses as all different icons so people can tell the difference between them. 1 icon for all police isn't specific enough.

calculated average speed of average speed segment
There are some road segments which have average speed cameras. Almost always the human beings unable to calculate average speed, so instead they simply don't exceed the enforced speed, the max speed, not average. In case if there are obstructions, slow vehicles, turning vehicles in the average speed segment, the real average speed may fall significantly below what was requested by Road Code rules.
Please add indicator of calculated average speed of passing of the current average speed segment41 votes -
