1. Time zone adjustment

   Waze should adjust ETA to the local time when destination is a different time zone. When you leave Phoenix for southwest CO, for example, the ETA should be in mountain time, not AZ time. Currently, the ETA only adjusts when your phone automatically adjusts as you cross the time zone. It would be nice to know drive time is 6 hours, but ETA is 7 hours due to time change.

2. Suppress Repeat of Long-term Alerts

   Suppress repeat audio alerts for "long-term alerts" such as red-light cameras. User to press a squelch button on the alert pop-up, so that subsequent drive by the same location won't trigger the audio alert.

   This annoys me some, but my wife absolutely HATES it when Ms Waze blurts out "red light camera ahead" on the roads we travel every day. The squelch button would enable me to not only squelch Ms Waze, but also would make our marriage more enjoyable!

   Those who like to hear the incessant warnings would simply not press the squelch for any given alert. Everybody would be happy!

3. Ability to add speedcameras from an address

   I've gotten plenty of speeding tickets and the address is given. Would be helpful to add these speed cameras by an address instead of only when present at the camera

5. Allow placing a destination pin on the phone while connected to CarPlay

   Hi Waze team,

   I’m a long-time Wazer (5+ years), and I truly appreciate the app. However, I’d like to share some frustrating limitation:

   It’s much harder and slower to move around the map and select a custom point on the car screen. On the phone, it takes seconds. Many times I don’t know the exact address — I just want to navigate to a specific point on the map (e.g. a parking spot or entrance nearby). But CarPlay disables this. I have to disconnect CarPlay, set the destination, and reconnect — very inconvenient.

6. Option to upload a picture previously taken instead of just taking them from within the client.

   I took a picture of an accident the other day. When deciding to report it to Waze right as I was passing it, I wanted to attach my picture but couldn't. Since I had just passed it, I also couldn't take a new picture.

   I think the option to attach a picture stored on the phone would be very useful.

7. Is there a Family Locator function?

   Is there a Family Locator function? Like if your family member is a waze user, and for privacy they'll let your phone see their location, and you can be guided to their location by the gps?

8. Allow iPad users to create accounts

   Make it so I can sign up and create an account WITHOUT A F**KING CELL PHONE! Some people don't have them but have downloaded iPads for your app, but can't use them because the sign-up forms and support take us around useless circle. "become a member by giving us your phone number." No, haven't got one. "Need support? Just log on." Morons.

9. "Stop running in the background" switch on iOS

   Hi. I found that Waze continues to run and use GPS and 3G signal while backgrounded on the iPhone. This is catastrophic in our country for two reasons: 1. It keeps the phone very hot. 2. it uses data at about 0.15 USD/MB, thereby ticking down your data and using up your money. You have to explicitly turn it off or explicitly quit the app. There should be a switch that says, and is by default, set to "Do not run or use data or GPS in the background". My experience: I used Waze to get to a destination. I backgrounded it and locked my iPhone. I put it on a countertop in a kitchen for two hours. At the end of that period, my ISP warned me that my data bundle was used up and the phone was hot. This is very bad. Please fix.

11. Tapping on a specific position on the map should bring up a menu just like in the phone app.

    When holding your finger on a position on the map, a menu should be brought up permitting you to save the address, or go to it. This is too practical to be ignored as a functionality..

12. Use accelerometer to detect and report on bumpy roads, and offer option to route around them

    Use the device's accelerometer to detect bumpiness in the road the user is currently driving on. Send this data to Waze, then use collective data on road bumpiness to offer a routing option so that users can favor driving on smoother roads. Possibly also tie into the existing systems to report/show potholes or road hazards.

14. Voice commands when using Waze in Android Auto

    Please update Waze so that I can use voice to report hazards. When using Waze on my phone, I can report hazards via Google assistant but it does not work when using Waze in Android auto. I have to look away from the road and touch screen 3 different time to report a hazard. Very dangerous

16. Registration plate recognition and automatic tagging of police vehicles

    Due to the proliferation of unmarked police cars and unmarked mobile speed cameras (parked cars) with no warning signs, it is now necessary to take it one step further and use the video feed from dash cams (both front and rear) and character recognition to automatically tag a police vehicle by its registration plate (after that registration plate has been manually tagged). If a user is travelling with that vehicle, the vehicle's location would be updated live. Once that user breaks away from the police vehicle, the location would then be picked up and updated live by other Waze users who have detected the tagged registration plate.

    To manually tag a registration plate, the user would report a police vehicle as normal, but the next screen might list all the current registration plates in view and the user would simply click a button next to the appropriate pre-filled selection. It might even be possible to take a snapshot of the front/rear dashcam views when the "report" button was selected so that the user can manually fill out the registration plate later on, when it is safe to do so (i.e when stopped).

    The system could work on "votes" where as long as the number of "thumbs up" votes exceed the "thumbs down" votes, the registration plate is linked as being a police vehicle. This would also ensure that the police themselves couldn't un-tag their registration plates.

    It may also increase the accuracy of tagging. If a tagged plate is no longer where it was last seen (perhaps after a set period of time, or if the plate is seen elsewhere), it will automatically be removed from that location and would reappear when the next user's Waze picks up the plate's new location.

    I believe this could potentially help save lives, not only because it will make drivers more aware of police vehicles and drive more carefully, but also because they will be less likely to be taken by surprise as their dashcam will be able to automatically recognise a parked vehicle as being an unmarked police car or mobile speed camera. Drivers are sometimes prone to behaving erratically when they suddenly realise a parked car is a mobile speed camera, whether they are speeding or not, and will slam on their brakes and/or drive well under the speed limit. Hopefully this feature will reduce the likelihood of this happening.

    Currently traffic bars for various routes appear on phone screen but not on the car screen when using Carplay. Summary traffic bars for various routes is too valuable to not have

20. Add in Android Auto the list of "notices" on my route, as also available on phone.
