Go back to the old format for alerts. Color & Location
Blue for police, orange for hazards. It's more eye-catching. Having the alerts near the bottom really doesn't catch the eye. Before the change was made I didn't even have to glance at my phone I could see the colors and icon through my peripheral vision

Customize your Waze map and route view when putting your phone on its side.
The arrow placement is not the best where I put my phone, and at third gear, I can't see where to go, and there is no way to customize the view.

Currently playing music shown on map
I use my phone to listen to music while driving (through Bluetooth) a lot of the time and I also use the screen of my phone to see what song is playing, I just thought it would be a cool thing for the app to tell you what song is playing on your phone while having the map open. I have seen other apps do this so I know it is possible.

Ability to disable auto-app start with CarPlay
Stop automatically starting the app on the iPhone when CarPlay connects to the phone. Waze takes up too much resources on the phone. And I have to keep stopping it. None of my other navigation or map apps automatically start up with CarPlay.

Add to Android auto the touch and hold option existing on the Waze phone app report icon
Add the existing touch and hold option to the report icon to Android auto. This option, which already exists on Waze phone app allow you to access two or three preset reports types. This is reducing the time you take your eyes out of the road and it will allow you to access faster two or three preset reports types. As you touch and hold the original report icon the preset icons are displayed instantly surrounding the original report icon and allowing you through a single touch to swiftly choose to report something important (potholes, police, hazards, etc)

linux client
i would like to have a Linux client build. i have built several custom laptops with Bluetooth connected GPS units and network via mobile hot-spots or connected cell cards and would much prefer to use Waze on them.

Danger Zone
Cameras are placed in known danger zones.
Usually the danger is within 100m either side of the camera.
Sometimes it is not allowed to plot cameras.
But a general warning - danger zone in 200m - would be useful.3 votes -

NO WAY TO CONTACT WAZE I was ranked 29,000 in my state and somehow lost everything.

Reduce height of Warnings bar
Using Waze landscape on Android speed camera warnings etc cover up speed indicator, could be half the height, very frustrating and turned off all the warnings.

Mobile Police Unit Reporting Plan
“Report Mobile Emergency Vehicle” voice command to prompt the query ‘type and direction of travel’ followed by the Wazer reply “Police/Fire/Ambulance - My Lane/Opposite Lane”. This would follow with allerting Wazers a predetermined distance ahead (1 to 5 miles) in any lane of travel to be on the lookout. Police presence is to encourage obeying speed limits and this feature acts as an extended police presence. This feature also alerts traffic to make way for emergency vehicles as we are in most countries legally obliged. Create a waze GPS system apart from an app. Like Tom Tom and Garmin. Keep people off their phones.
Police, Swat, and ambulances use other devices apart from Waze because it is not on a phone and is installed in their vehicles. Allow the public to have a screen that is separate from the phone and it can benefit even the public safety protocols.

Mobile Police Setting
When following, or being followed by a police car, I would like to enable a feature to show my actual GPS location for the next 10 minutes or until I disable. This will warn other drivers that they are approaching a police car and not zoom by me and get a ticket. There are a lot of unmarked police cars that I wind up following because I see the hidden lights or the government place before I pass them. I would like to help people avoid missing them while in traffic.

Add a way to put Waze to sleep in Apple CarPlay
If I navigate with Waze in Apple CarPlay, it stays open on my phone and drains my battery unless I remember to go on my phone when I get out of my car and put Waze to sleep. Then the next time I get in my car, Waze starts up even if I don't use navigation and stays on on my phone when I get out of the car, again draining my phone battery. Allow users to choose to display routes on their Phone instead forcing on the Android Auto
Allow users to choose whether to use their phone as Waze for routes or Android Auto as the main display, instead of forcing it to display on Android Auto. Some people want to stream music using Android Auto and use their phones to see directions, as it doesn't distract them from the road. Some head units in cars are positioned lower from the direction of the road and are more of a hassle to look at while driving.

Simplify removing a destination from drive history
Sometimes you need to remove a place from drive history and search again before getting an updated pin for routing.
Per a thread in Discuss, sometimes you have to remove navigation history from your Privacy settings to get rid of all history of a place.
Removing a destination from drive history should remove it from the app completely in one step. You shouldn’t have to navigate through settings to Privacy then Recent locations to remove it.

Control audio warnings as a user option
In the audio, there are only 3 options. Please add a 4th option as a " user option" There you can not only set the type of warning, but also control the amount of " before exit/turn " warnings. Today, you either have all of them ( 3 ) or nothing. I would like to have for example only 1 waning for exit + Police + speed camera and nothing else. Anyone can chose and set his own preferences on the audio notification.
