Mobile Police Unit Reporting Plan
“Report Mobile Emergency Vehicle” voice command to prompt the query ‘type and direction of travel’ followed by the Wazer reply “Police/Fire/Ambulance - My Lane/Opposite Lane”. This would follow with allerting Wazers a predetermined distance ahead (1 to 5 miles) in any lane of travel to be on the lookout. Police presence is to encourage obeying speed limits and this feature acts as an extended police presence. This feature also alerts traffic to make way for emergency vehicles as we are in most countries legally obliged. Mobile Police Setting
When following, or being followed by a police car, I would like to enable a feature to show my actual GPS location for the next 10 minutes or until I disable. This will warn other drivers that they are approaching a police car and not zoom by me and get a ticket. There are a lot of unmarked police cars that I wind up following because I see the hidden lights or the government place before I pass them. I would like to help people avoid missing them while in traffic.

Currently playing music shown on map
I use my phone to listen to music while driving (through Bluetooth) a lot of the time and I also use the screen of my phone to see what song is playing, I just thought it would be a cool thing for the app to tell you what song is playing on your phone while having the map open. I have seen other apps do this so I know it is possible.

Mark red light cameras
There are new red light cameras in effect in Honolulu. Many are active and more to come this month. I wish this would be shown or easily marked because they are stationary cameras

linux client
i would like to have a Linux client build. i have built several custom laptops with Bluetooth connected GPS units and network via mobile hot-spots or connected cell cards and would much prefer to use Waze on them.

Danger Zone
Cameras are placed in known danger zones.
Usually the danger is within 100m either side of the camera.
Sometimes it is not allowed to plot cameras.
But a general warning - danger zone in 200m - would be useful.3 votes -

Ability to see what kind of police setup it is, rather just an icon
It would be helpful to see when a cop is listed on the map, whether it is a RBT, Drug Bus, speed camera etc. this would help alot.
As you see sometimes the cop map but it just may be driving in that area, specifying what actually it is would be great4 votes -
Message alerts settings
In the new version of Waze, when the phone is landscape, when a warning is shown (radar, stopped vehicle ...) it's appear on the top of the screen, avoiding the visualization of what is to come in the path. The suggestion is to allow set where to place these alerts. If the phone is in an horizontal position, would be more useful than alerts go out to the right or left of the screen covering part of the side and not the way to go.

Waze is allowing police to clear locations reported and waze is not allowing us to re add camera locations after police clear locations while police and cameras are still in those locations

Waze app does not display correctly recently on Android phone
For some reason the Waze app is not correctly displaying on my pixel phone anymore. The speed limit and actual speed are in the middle of the screen versus off to the left where they used to be. When a dialog box pops up such as police reported ahead and your speed is covered up, it's not a good day. Please revert to an older version to prevent this loss of function when it's needed most

Simplify removing a destination from drive history
Sometimes you need to remove a place from drive history and search again before getting an updated pin for routing.
Per a thread in Discuss, sometimes you have to remove navigation history from your Privacy settings to get rid of all history of a place.
Removing a destination from drive history should remove it from the app completely in one step. You shouldn’t have to navigate through settings to Privacy then Recent locations to remove it.

More engagement with existing markers
The option to report a hidden car is sometimes not specific enough. Sometimes it is a mobile speed camera. Or it’s a phone / seatbelt detector. The road chat option is the closest option we have so far when used along with a police marker. Either that or add the ability for other drivers to give extra info when more information is figured out so if a passer-by notices the report bit it isn’t in-depth enough or is just a bit to far for it to look current. They can add to the marker giving a more in-depth description…

Quick-report presets
The amount of phone interaction required for reporting is a bit onerous while driving. Tap to Report > select category > add optional additional info > send. I often skip reporting altogether to avoid distracting from driving.
I would love to see the ability to have one-touch presets for making reports from the main screen. A single tap to mark & send a report on an accident, hazard, or speedtrap, etc.
User might even be allowed to customize which presets are present and/or include specific text (i.e. "Left lane closed") for frequent events.

Control audio warnings as a user option
In the audio, there are only 3 options. Please add a 4th option as a " user option" There you can not only set the type of warning, but also control the amount of " before exit/turn " warnings. Today, you either have all of them ( 3 ) or nothing. I would like to have for example only 1 waning for exit + Police + speed camera and nothing else. Anyone can chose and set his own preferences on the audio notification.

Change Vehicle profile by connected Bluetooth
I am using my device for navigation by car and motorcycle and I regularly forget to change the vehicle type.
I would love to have a feature that depending on what Bluetooth device is connected to the phone the vehicle type would be automatically set to the appropriate one.29 votes
