4. Waze mode for public bus drivers

   My name is Meital , and I’m a professional bus driver in Israel. I’d like to suggest a new feature that could greatly benefit both new and experienced drivers: a dedicated navigation mode for bus lines.

   The idea is to create an option within Waze that allows drivers to select a specific public bus line (e.g., “Line 76 from Ashdod to Bat Yam”) and get step-by-step navigation based on the actual route and stops of that line. The system would include all scheduled stops, expected turns, and route-specific details.

   This feature could serve multiple purposes:
   • For new drivers, it would be an excellent learning tool before entering service.
   • For experienced drivers, it would offer immediate guidance when assigned unfamiliar lines on short notice.

   I also believe this service could be offered exclusively to licensed drivers, possibly as a paid premium feature, to keep it professional and avoid public misuse.

   Many drivers in the field—myself included—would be thrilled to see such a tool developed. It would significantly improve safety, reduce errors on route, and provide peace of mind during demanding shifts.

   If this idea is of interest, I would love to elaborate or collaborate in any way possible.

6. More voice warning before freeway exits, regardless of speed

   I noticed that the location of the voice instruction you hear before a freeway exit varies based on how fast you're going.
   Around 100 km/h, you get the voice instruction 1.5 kilometres before your exit.
   Around 80 km/h, you get the voice warning about 1 km before the exit.
   Around 60 km/h, you get the warning just 300 metres before the exit.

   It's the last one that I think is a problem. Some drivers rely mostly on the voice instructions either because we don't have a phone stand or because of restrictive laws regarding phone use while driving. And if you're on a freeway that has, say, 5 or more lanes, then regardless of what speed you're going at, 300 metres of warning before the exit simply isn't enough. The driver might suddenly have to dart across 5 or more lanes in 300 metres just to make their exit, and that's far too dangerous.

   Even at lower speeds, especially for roads with many lanes, such as freeways, Waze voice instructions should give greater warning before the next turn or exit - e.g. 1 or 1.5 km in advance, like we already get at higher speeds.

   Bom dia.
   Gostaria de sugerir que o Waze, coloque uma informação à respeito da Rua Jose Flavio, 428 - Penha de França - Sao Paulo - SP, CEP 03642-000, pois esta é uma rua , INFELIZMENTE ainda sem nome, que comunica entre a jose flavio, altura do numero 428, ea rua MAMPITUBA. A prefeitura ate hoje não a nomeou. Ela tem entrada larga e a saida, na Mampituba é ESTREITA ( largura de um carro médio +/- 210 cms ( 2,10 mts ). Entao seria interessante colocar este alerta na navegação, pois VANS e VUCs estão ficando presos na rua, e nem sempre conseguem subir sozinhos. As vezes, precisam descarregar as mercadorias para aliviar o peso dos veiculos. Fica a dica, pois escuto muitos comentarios sobre os navegadores....

9. Preço da carona

   Prezados, boa noite. Sou usuário do Wase há vários anos e desde abril de 2019 ofereço carona através Carpool. Já fiz 311 caronas, sendo mais de 13 mil km rodados. Primeiramente, gostaria agradecer pela ferramenta que é excelente. Muitos passageiros meus venderam seus carros e vão trabalhar e voltam pra casa comigo. Fiz novas amizades e subsidio os custos do carro com o que recebo. Contudo, com os ajustes nos valores que vocês efetuaram esta semana, ficará inviável a continuidade da utilização do aplicativo, principalmente para quem pega carona. Enquanto motorista, não sentirei tanta diferença, financeiramente falando, apesar de ter trocado de carro confiando nos valores recebidos nos últimos meses, mas para quem pega carona ficará inviável pagar R$ 7,00, R$ 8,00 por viagem, principalmente se considerarmos que o valor da passagem de ônibus, aqui em Brasília é R$ 5,50. Entendo que, por um bom tempo, o custo da carona para o passageiro foi de R$ 4,00, com a diferença sendo subsidiada por vocês, mas aumentar a tarifa em 100% vai afugentar muitos usuários, inclusive alguns já não estão aceitando os convites para caronas nesta semana. Acredito que um valor de R$ 6,00 estaria razoável e sendo a Google uma gigante multinacional conseguiria arcar com a diferença, entre o que o passageiro paga e o motorista recebe, com publicidade dentro do próprio app. Estou à disposição para ajudar no que for necessário para que a utilização do app cresça e mantenha-se viável para todos os envolvidos.    Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

10. Use my device's GPS accuracy to determine route stickyness

    I often find myself "stuck" to parallel roads because Waze routed me that way and I "must" be following the route--even though my GPS places me over 20m (65ft) away!
    When I go to Taco Bell on my way to work, it's so I can go through the drive thru, NOT so I can roll past the front door as Waze would have me do. But the 15m (50ft) out of the parking lot is "close enough" to assume that I'm following the route.
    This also happens when I'm trying to train Waze to take a longer route out of my parking lot to a shorter wait at a light. Waze misses that I didn't turn out of the parking lot and am on a parallel road 65m (80ft) away, and just assumes I'm on the road it wants me to take.

    Update the "route stickiness" algorithm to stay locked to the nearest segment within, say, 1.25 * the current accuracy. The GPS in my phone is usually accurate to within 3m (10ft). At time's, I've had as bad as 10. Even this should be good enough to determine when I've left a parking lot.

    Part of this may have to do with things like large intersections where the junction node in the middle could be 10-15m away from a vehicle taking a right turn, but surely that can be tweaked for the street type, i.e. tighter tolerance for streets and parking lot roads, wider tolerance for primary streets and highways.
    Incidentally, I think freeway interactions are restrictive enough that you can probably keep them tight too. I know it often takes a while for Waze to realize I've taken an unexpected exit. I mean, I can be on one of two different segments and I just slowed down drastically, where the heck do you think I am!?

    Perhaps transitions to/from parking lot roads or ramps could incorporate some kind of delta-v tracking.

11. "Blind" Report Entry

    I have an idea about how to make Waze truly "blind" -- i.e. how to use it to post accurate and detailed notices without ever having to look at the device (or look away from traffic).

    The way it works right now is you tap the Report Icon and then a screen appears with a number of options. For most options there are suboptions, and then you have to send the report for it to make it visible to other Wazers. This means a minimum of FOUR times you must glance at your phone in order to report something. However, there is a way that you don't need to look even once! It involves sounds and dragging.

    To start a report, the button should be in the bottom-right corner -- all the way in the corner, so we can FEEL where the button is by tracing the edge of our screen with our fingers. Once our finger is touching that corner area for a moment, then is plays a unique sound. This sound tells the driver that they are activating the report screen.

    The report screen appears only if the finger remains touching the screen, but stays up as long as the finger is there. The sound the report screen might make is a 'C' xylophone note.

    Then the user drags their finger to another spot on the pop-up. As they drag their finger to that spot, different options play different sounds. Traffic might be a 'G' xylophone note, while Police might be an 'E'. So the user can determine which issue they are reporting by hearing the sound that corresponds to that issue. After hovering for a moment on that issue, a secondary pop-up screen appears and sub-options are listed here. Again a different sound will play for each of these sub-options that are dragged over ('A' and 'D' xylophone notes for minor traffic, 'A' and 'G#' for standstill, etc).

    After hearing the correct sequence of sounds (of which would take some time to get used to but then should work smoothly), the user then lets go of the phone. A second tap anywhere would confirm the report (which could play a 'C' chord or something).

    The user would hold down their finger, dragging to two places, and tapping. Never once should he/she have to look away from the road. With time this would be much faster than regular reporting as well.

    Other options for sounds:
    -- A voice reporting the current option ("Accident", "Caution", etc)
    -- Sound effects ("car crash", "squealing tires", honking", etc)
    -- Other instruments ("trumpets", or "Johnny Cash" (In fact you could have guest performers as well, like an add-on like the voice commands)).

12. Mudança no formato da Tela de navegação

    Até a atualização 4.30 a seta no modo paisagem ficava sempre no centro da tela, seria muito mais útil colocá-la novamente no centro, assim, o mapa fica distribuído uniformemente na tela, OU desenvolvam uma versão do waze exclusivo para tablets, pra seta ficar no meio no modo paisagem, já que a tela do tablet é maior, por isso algumas multimidia usam versoes antigas do waze, por causa desse modo que a seta fica.
    Também seria bom, a opção de diminuir a velocidade máxima da pista pra quem é caminhoneiro, Já que a velocidade pra caminhão e diferente pra carros, acaba passando batido os radares já que só notifica o excesso de velocidade em relação a carros que geralmemte e 100km/h, e não pra caminhões que geralmente é 80km/h

    Me tornei motorista de caminhão recentemente e identifiquei alguns itens faltantes para auxiliar em nossa navegação como por exemplo: indicativo de balança, vias não permitidas, peso do veículo além de altura e etc que ajudariam a mim e outros, acredito que muito, mesmo que tivéssemos que pagar uma taxa de uso, tipo uns R$20,00 pra ajudar o pessoal do desenvolvimento.     Boa tarde recentemente fiz uma viagem do Pará a Curitiba notei que não tem no alerta de perigo chuvas, radares algo que poderia ser acrescentado na nova atualização pois o aplicativo está muito desatualizado nesses quesitos, outra sugestão é que os desenvolvedores possam liberar que vc cadastre um perigo na via quando não tem sinal de celular pois é algo de suma importância que no aplicativo pudéssemos cadastrar um perigo mesmo sem sinal de celular afinal ajudaria e muito todos os usuários do aplicativo

20. Urgent Proposal: Integrate E-Bike and Scooter Riders into the Waze Map for Driver and Rider Safety

    The Immediate Safety Need
    I am urgently requesting that you integrate electric bicycle and scooter riders into the Waze traffic map. I believe the primary need is not just navigation for the riders themselves, but to increase the visibility of these vehicles in the eyes of the car drivers who use the application.
    I see that Light Electric Vehicles (LEVs) – e-scooters and e-bikes – have become an integral part of urban and intercity traffic. They travel on the edge of roads, in bus lanes, and on bike paths close to driving lanes, and they pose a significant risk for accidents, mainly because drivers are often completely unaware of their immediate presence.
    The Proposed Solution: Add a "Rider Mode" for Reporting
    I propose developing a new "Rider Mode" under 'Vehicle Type,' which would serve two main purposes:
    1. Visibility and Alerts for Drivers (The Safety Aspect):
    Active Presence Marking: A rider who selects this mode would be marked as an "active Waze user" on the map, similar to a car or motorcycle, but with a unique icon (e.g., a helmet or a scooter).
    Automatic Safety Alerts: Waze could warn car drivers who are approaching a rider or a group of riders from behind. The alert could be audible ("Caution: Cyclist ahead") or visual on the screen.
    Hazardous Areas: Warnings could be issued to drivers in advance of areas prone to riding (e.g., a road section without a dedicated bike lane, or a popular riding zone).
    2. Specific Reporting for Riders (The Community Aspect):
    Reporting Road Hazards: Giving riders the option to report specific dangers that threaten them and low-profile vehicles (such as potholes, obstacles in the bike lane, or a blocking car). These reports would also benefit other drivers.
    Mutual Safety Cooperation: Riders could report the presence of police/inspectors focusing on LEVs, thereby creating a reciprocal safety community (as Waze currently does for cars).
    The Unique Advantage of Waze
    Other navigation apps offer cycling routes, but Waze is the only application used by millions of drivers on the roads worldwide. I believe the solution to the LEV safety problem lies in Waze's unique ability to connect heavy vehicle users (cars) with light vehicle users (e-bikes/scooters) on the same platform.
    I am confident that adding this feature will not only improve rider safety but will also help drivers be more focused, reduce the element of surprise, and ultimately save lives and reduce the number of traffic accidents.
    I urge the Waze development team to prioritize the immediate addition of this critical safety feature.
