WAZE navigation system could be adapted to the nation's railroad netword where it could become a new-technology Positive Train Control.
Railroad Safety: a Ten Billion Dollar Boondoggle
Carl E. Nash, Ph.D.
Derailments and collisions between trains are spectacular. Their economic and environmental consequences are considerable and they kill and injure people. In response, over the past forty years, pressed by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and Congress the railroads have been implementing Positive Train Control (PTC) systems to reduce the potential for these crashes.
Actually, U.S. railroads are quite safe for passengers. An average of only 5 people die in train crashes each year: slightly more than are killed in motor vehicle crashes in…3 votes -
A category for a smaller road, that cars can't through in. Indonesia has a lot bikes here LOL
I hope you guys can add a new category for a smaller road that only can suit by bike. Here in Indonesia there are lots roads that only can through by bike. Several times i must take another road, because i ride a car rite. And it would be great before take a navigation, user must entry what kind of vehicle that they use,so that waze can suggest road that suit for their vehicles.
Thank you for your attention guys, i love this app!1 voteThanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

Reducing horizontal bar for approaching hazards instead of tiny distance number
Vehicle on side of road, flood or object. Ok, how far is it? Looking at the map it's a tiny number you have to keep looking at.
Much better would be a dynamically reducing horizontal bar that depicts closing distance from alert time. Colours might be good to gauge distance (green 500-250m, amber 250-100m, red less than 100m). Put the existing closing distance within the coloured bar.

"Closure" function in iOS app=broken. Engaging CLOSURE displays area map with white arrows that mostly can not be selected.
Selecting CLOSURE from UI on iOS results in a local map. This shows White Arrows and red "-" icons. Unfortunately, often, the user can NOT select on the white arrows to flag the road closure, And the UI is displaying selection of a white arrow when another, not related, white arrow is clicked on. The way it is working now the app CLOSURE function is literally not usable.. It would be very helpful if the APP were smart enough to automatically select a intersection closure based on the information that the suggested and running route was not followed and now…

Opposite speed camera reporting and differentiate between front and rear facing speed cameras
Suggestion 1:
Sometimes, when driving, there is a police officer with a camera on the opposite side of the road. However, the app doesn’t have an option to report a “camera on the opposite side,” so we are forced to mark it as “police on the opposite side.” It would be helpful to have a specific option for reporting such cases.Suggestion 2:
Speed cameras generally fall into two categories: those that measure speed from the front of the vehicle and those that measure it from the rear. It would be great if Waze could distinguish between these two types…2 votes -
Manual mode - route option for manual cars
The app already has an option to avoid hazardous / complicated intersections. My suggestion is a manual route mode that avoids large hills or road hazards that may be more difficult given a manual transmission.

On Screen Button Size
Android Auto on Ford F150 8.2" display. Buttons for "still there" and "not there" for reported hazards have a height to width ratio of about 0.16. Very difficult to press correctly as the finger moves up/down with vehicle movement. Button is too narrow.
Suggest that the "there" "not there" buttons have a H to W ratio closer to 1.0. Same screen space will be occupied, but buttons will be much easier to press.

"Multi-Stop Route Support for Delivery Drivers and Professionals"
I suggest adding a feature to Waze that allows users to input multiple addresses (e.g., 10 or more, as many as the user needs) and get the most optimal route connecting all those points. Currently, Waze only supports adding one intermediate stop, which isn’t enough for delivery drivers or people who need to navigate between several destinations in a day, like within a city. For example, a delivery person could enter 10 different addresses in advance, and Waze would calculate the fastest and most efficient route to visit them all.
Why is this important?Saves time and money for delivery drivers…4 votes -
Improve Waze for all (professional drivers like taxi drivers, truck drivers and bus drivers as well)
Feedback for Waze Improvements (Australia-specific but globally relevant):
1. Map and Speed Limit Accuracy
• Please update maps and speed limit data more frequently, especially in Australia where road rules and limits are often updated.
• Ensure that the speedometer always shows the correct speed limit without disappearing or failing, as this can mislead drivers and cause unintentional speeding.
• Improve reliability so the speedometer never stops working unexpectedly.
2. Audible Alerts and Driver Focus
• Introduce louder and clearer spoken alerts for every speed limit change, so drivers do not have to look at their phone screen.
• Provide…4 votes -
User option to define the value you want the speed exceeded alert to be given!
I know that by default it is 30Km/h but in many situations 30 is a very "large" range when going from 120 to 100 in a controlled zone P.E. on the A29
This value should be a user-defined option!
The warning must be given a few meters before entering the area at a new speed
(The precedence can also be a value to be defined by the user)2 votes -
The speaker icon when waze is idle is huge when I don't want to use it, and when routing when I do it is tiny
The speaker icon when waze is idle is huge when I don't want to use it, and when routing when I do it is tiny.
Make it large all the time on screen in an easy place.1 voteThanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

Truck drivers distort the measured speeds. If they were treated separately, WAZE would be much more accurate.
It may be that there's no interest in optimizing the app for vehicles over 3.5 tons, such as motorhomes, trucks, buses, and the like, but drivers of precisely these vehicles still use Waze because Waze is simply one of the best navigation apps. However, these typically much slower vehicles distort the average speeds of users determined by Waze, so it would certainly make the app much more accurate if users could enter their vehicle data, such as weight and size, so that the data can be assigned accordingly when collecting the returned data. In return, truck drivers…

Option to add Places and Gas prices
The Option to add gas prices and places when stopped on Android auto. Currently, I have to stop, turn my vehicle off and wait for my phone to stop trying to recconect to andriod auto, then I can open waze and add the place or gas price. I can do the same when I am stopped and looking at the gas price or the place but not when I am connected to the car.

Mobile Police Unit Reporting Plan
“Report Mobile Emergency Vehicle” voice command to prompt the query ‘type and direction of travel’ followed by the Wazer reply “Police/Fire/Ambulance - My Lane/Opposite Lane”. This would follow with allerting Wazers a predetermined distance ahead (1 to 5 miles) in any lane of travel to be on the lookout. Police presence is to encourage obeying speed limits and this feature acts as an extended police presence. This feature also alerts traffic to make way for emergency vehicles as we are in most countries legally obliged. Programming and implementation should be straightforward, but as any open source requires community…

What if you incorporated siren detection software into Waze so that you could see in advance any appoaching emergency vehicles.
For the safety of your users, a siren detection feature would give them advanced notice of approaching emergency vehicles. Our company created this software.

Bad directions in Iowa
Used Waze to travel to the Paramount Theater in Cedar Rapids Iowa. The directions were NOT SUFFICIENT. We drove around looking for the venue for about 15 minutes before we gave up on Waze and just parked the vehicle and walked. I know this is not the correct place to report this problem, but the reporting methods suggested in "Fix a Map Issue" were not working. I guess I'm just too retarded to use Waze.

New update not working as intended
2017 vw jetta, andriod phone for waze, since the newest update, I am unable to use touchscreen sections located near the corner of the screen, ie, reporting button, center button, exit button, or zoom in and out. I use my phone on my other vehicle, 2020 vw tiguan and it works fine. Also, the new black info sections are awful and make it very hard to see the full map. Please verify the data mapping for vehicles with smaller screens, or move the functions to allow for touchscreens to work correctly as it had before the latest update.…

Toggle Carpool on and off when using Android Auto
Once the phone is connected to the vehicle, there is no way to easy toggle on and off the carpool. As a parent that drives the kids to and from school, I constantly go from single person to three people, and if I do not remember to change the settings before plugging the phone, I cannot toggle carpool off and off. I need an easy way to toggle carpool on and off when in the Android Auto.

Service for stuck cars
As you know, cars are stuck for all kinds of mechanical / human reasons. Because of the experience and amount of users you have and you can ask the same users the same way with the Reflection Is the vehicle or figure in this place, at points or free. Notice that the technical service works when the car is picked up by the tow or some more time the car arrives to give service (Gat Taksi).
