Variable distance until off-ramp
When on a 4, 5, or 6 lane highway, traveling at highway speeds in the left lane, in moderate or congested traffic in the left lane, I really need more than 1 mile notice of an offramp. So it'd be nice if either (a) the distance to a turn was related to speed (e.g., at 25 miles an hour, a mile notice is good, but at 65 miles an hour a three mile notice would be better) AND/OR (b) users having the ability to set the distance that they want turn-notices to be announced.

Mute warnings when not using navigation (in Android Auto)
It's very annoying when you're driving around, not using navigation, and you're listening to Spotify for example and Spotify is getting muted because the Waze voice wants to let you know there are traffic lights, speed camera's and such when I already know they're there.

Choose if we want to go back streets an miss all traffic
Go routes based on my history like if i go a lot of back streets have thsi as options show all routes possible to this place im going an let me choose an ways I’d possibly like to go would make a lot better an save ways I like to drive so can just go this way instead of have maps say wrong way or missed turn or u turn or anything like that an also tell us what lanes to be in an how many streets till turn

ROADWORK: leverage roadwork feed from Swedish transport administration
In Sweden, public feeds of roadwork and traffic events (accidents) are available at no charge on the internet.
Please enable the display of these in the waze client. They could also be used for improved routing.

Wind gusts icon
I'd suggest to add into climatic alerts group an icon to be used to inform Wazers that there a risk due to wind gusts.
I guess there is a significant number of users (such as truck, light commercial, bus and caravan drivers) that may be interested to this potential risk and would appreciate if Wazers would turn on a specific alert.
What do you think about it?

Waze has turned my little side street into a FUCKING FREEWAY. How do I get it to stop?
Do not direct traffic down residential side streets. They are ruining quiet communities.

Route away from schools at pickup & dropoff time
We've been noticing an increasing amount of Waze traffic near our local elementary school. It is dangerous for the kids who are biking to school (and not yet as reliable as adults) -- we have had three kids hit by cars in our small city so far this year. And I'm sure it is annoying for drivers -- we've seen a lot of folks swerving around slow cars etc.
I would love to be able to tell Waze the pickup and dropoff windows for our school, and have it automatically route away from the school (and ideally nearby streets).

Make map icons easier to identify!
When looking at the waze map, it is difficult to tell what direction the traffic/police/accident icons are positioned for. There should be something included on the icon that indicates if the report is for Eastbound/Westbound traffic; maybe just a "W" or "E" included in the icon? Maybe add an arrow pointing in the direction of traffic flow that the report is effecting?

GPS-Provide Street Names
GPS Feature-It would be greatly appreciated if street names are given, especially for turns, e.g., turn left "on Main Street", etc. or red light up ahead on "Stone Street". My car's GPS (which I rarely use anymore) has that feature and it's great. There have been a few times, particularly when approaching a short street, that Waze says turn left and by the time I get to the corner, I realize I was supposed to turn on "that" corner and it's too late. Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Currently Not Planned, since we finalized our plans for 2024 and this idea won't be implemented this year.

Navigation PopUp
When navigation sends you on an alternate route than what you are expecting, give some kind of pop up that warns of significant traffic jam. I write this as I have been sitting in traffic for 90 minutes now. When I was navigating along it changed my route but I hadn't noticed it but if it showed me the traffic jam bar associated with the change and sounded a bell or something, I would have certainly taken the alternate route.

Allow Users (or their friends/family) To Be the GPS Voice
As most users know, there are special sponsored voices you can use for your GPS voice. Kevin Hart did it when Ride Along was coming out. Ed Helms is currently on it for Vacation.
Wouldn't it be great if their was a part of the app where Waze would give the user prompts and they could record themselves, or a friend, or family member saying them. (i.e. "In point 2 miles turn left." "Make a U-turn at the next light" ETC.)

One Lane Bridge Alerts
It would be great to have a warning when approaching a one lane bridge, given that it's an important time to slow down and be prepared to stop. By one lane bridge, I mean a bridge with one lane that is shared be the traffic going in either direction (https://www.nzta.govt.nz/roadcode/general-road-code/road-code/about-driving/giving-way/giving-way-on-one-lane-bridges/).
Generally one direction gets the right of way, so it would also be handy to have that included in the warning.

First responders
As a First Responder there should be a way to for us to update more information on traffic accidents and incidents that would allow us to give first hand accounts to get people to slow down or avoid an area all together. People refuse to slow down when we are working on the side ofthe road.

I would love to see Waze on the Samsung Gear S3.
As far as I can tell, the Gear S3 can be purchased with a Data plan via AT&T, so theoretically it would be possible to use Waze on a smart watch with both GPS and Data. I would absolutely pay for a smartwatch version of your app, as would many other people! Having my phone out to use Waze when commuting daily is a bit cumbersome, but using it on a smart watch just to keep an eye out for traffic / police would make me use it every time I step foot in my car. Notifications for Roads with Variable Speed Limits
Lots of UK motorways have variable speed limits. Obviously these change a lot so there’s no way we can have a live map of them, but as you go on to a road with a variable speed limit it would be nice to get a notification saying something like “Entering Variable Speed Limit Area. The legal speed limit may be different to the limit shown in Waze.” Another useful notification could be on the approach to traffic or around reported broken down cars, a notification asking the lines of “Hazard/Traffic reported on the road ahead, pay attention to Variable…

Add option to select car pool when navigating
Lets popup "carpool?" button after choosing destination in carpool times. This will help to get corresponding exits and more precise calculations. Sometimes traffic stopped while carpool is open and I dont want to get average estimation and alternative route. Thanks!

Add Buttons
Its difficult to give reports when one is driving at 120 km/hr. Users must be able to add buttons, similar to speed reading on the screen, where once can report by touch of a button. One should also have option to drag and place these buttons anywhere on the screen
I would add following to my screen when driving.
- Report Car on Shoulder
- Report Pothole
- Heavy traffic

Automate road closure Report
It is difficult to report road closures in real time - especially on a freeway - because of the approach speed and unexpected driving adjustment. If Waze inquired why I missed a turn/off-on ramp it would be helpful. This is similar to when Waze asks "you slowed down - are you in traffic?" If Waze notices that I missed a turn/off-on ramp it should ask "you missed a turn- was there a road closure ?" This way I can report later ( give me 60 secs) when safe.
