Waze should have Patch Notes for every update. Let Users know what has changed with each new version (dropped support, improved support etc)
Patch Notes, like those implemented in every online game in the past two decades, would drastically reduce User issue-reporting (with the app) due to misunderstanding of which Waze features are supported, which are not, which features have lost support and where etc.
Just every time the User updates the app, upon next sign-in, just flash a dialogue box with the latest patch notes (perhaps a link).
As an aside: the Help Center could be more clear and specific about how certain features (e.g., speed camera alerts) work. The exact parameters for getting audible speed camera alerts are not known and…

Avoid low emissions zones button
An avoid low emissions zones button would be helpful for the drivers of pre 2016 non euro 6 diesel vehicles.
I intend to visit Edinburgh and Dundee in the summer both of which have low emissions zones. For me Birmingham and Bristol low emissions zones also need to be avoided.3 votes -
More realistic ETA for long drives
There should be a feature that allows you to choose in options, how many stops you make either per distance or time, and how long on average are those stops as well as whether you tend to drive slightly above or below the speed limit. Then allow Waze to make adjustments to the ETA based off those personalized settings. For example, I add about 25min per hour drive and it’s much closer to my expected ETA than what Waze provides.

Current speed yellow when approaching turn too fast
App displays speed colour to yellow on turns.
In Australia we have advice sign posts "yellow triangle" that suggest
a comfortable speed for a corner (on corners that are closer to hair-pin than straight). The route navigation current speed would show white (normal), yellow (over suggested speed) or Red (over legal speed limit)
Some possibilities:
- Waze servers auto assign "suggested speed" value based an approximation of centripetal force that considered angle between two segment "points" and ignores slope.
- Waze editor allows a road to have an assigned "suggested speed" based on road signage suggestions (which take into consideration …5 votes -

Add safety message to remind local rules / habits
When the wazer is going to a new zone, Waze could remind him local habits : for example, in Paris, there is a lot of motorcyclists driving between the 2 right lane, Waze could say "Please pay attention to motorcyclists " ...
It could also be a reminder of the speed limit for this counrty when crossing a border.

Some bugs encountered with the application
I use Waze very frequently for my work. Both as a GPS and as an assistant for road hazards.
I've noticed a few anomalies in Android Auto. When I approach a speed camera, Waze informs me about it and the distance. As soon as I have passed the zone, the "Speed camera" indication remains on the screen and Waze does not provide any other information.
I have taken some pictures of the problem encountered. If you want them, let me know where I should send them.Thank you.

Waze carpool to use its own time settings
When trying to create a carpool ride, the android app seem to pull time information from the device itself which creates issues when the time settings do not match the time zone. What we select is not in local time and also not in the entered timezone. It is a mess. Why not the app use its own time settings internally. I am also using scoop app and it works without any of these timing issues. Due to this I could not create carpool ride requests in Waze as it is showing some other time rather than…

Know Police Enforcement Zones
Waze is a great tool for being notified of any police that are in the area. Police tend to use the same places to park and hide while waiting for you to come along.
Wazes stores the data on where the police are hiding or parked waiting to measure your speed.
My idea is for ways to have a new alerts feature called "known Police enforcement zones"
This will assist in helping with unwanted encounters with law enforcement when police aren't already tagged on the app. Please add "known Police Enforcement Zones"
I know everybody will love this…3 votes -
Radar audio warning trigger model
I don't know if this is a new topic or not, but this is a problem that I've encountered wherein the normal Waze behavior is almost like a bug.
How it works today
The visual on screen warning for a Speed camera is based on distance only. I.e it will always show on-screen when the driver is X meters from the camera.
However, the audio warning for a speed camera only activates if you pass the "detection distance" and are "over speed"Problem
In this specific case, the radar is a 70 km/h radar. The detection distance however is when…2 votes -
Variable Speed Limit Camera Audio Cues
Hi, based in the UK here.
When a user drives in a variable speed limit zone on a motorway in the UK, Waze thinks the speed limit is 70 mph all the time when in fact the speed limits can be changed from anywhere between 20 mph and 70 mph.
These variable speed limit zones have several speed cameras that can detect speeding for a variety of speed limits.
When navigating on Waze, when approaching a speed camera the audio cue for alerting to speed cameras does not play when driving within the speed limit shown in Waze, only…

School zones on the map display just like what it does with speed cameras for example
Is it possible to have school zones on the map display just like what it does with speed cameras for example and not the hazards icon because it’s confusing and that way people know when a school zone is coming up cause I’m right by 2 schools

calque
Bonjour,

Speed trap vs police monitoring construction area.
I would like for a way to distinguish between police out for a speed trap and those that are out monitoring a construction zone. Many times people list police out but they are blocking a freeway exit or something else and aren't trying to hand out speeding tickets

report menu icon is too large
The icon for report menu is taking up too much real estate on the 2D map, it is huge. (And this is very objective because I have a smaller than average screen and not the best eyesight.) This icon as well as the arrow icon could be smaller so as not to cover too much of the map screen. I like north up mode so icon could cover street or intersection or street name.

Most hazard alerts should not expire
When a hazard alert, such as a construction zone or a stopped vehicle is posted, it should not simply expire. It should remain active until a user explicitly responds that it's "Not there."
There's no reason that a long-term construction project, for example, should have to be reported repeatedly day after day for months. The same applies to most types of alerts, such as broken traffic lights and potholes. Once the hazard is gone, users will say so. Until then, it should remain active.

2 ideas for routing
Have an option to base economic routes on the cars MPG. It would basically be googles econ route but made tailored to your MPG rather than on car average. Another thing would be to add traffic lights and stop signs to account for on the trip.
