routes for caravans
Please create a category for those towing a caravan so that inappropriate routes are not offered.
I would rather travel further on a good road than be guided onto a narrow, winding, steep or unsafe surface when towing my caravan.
The risk of a collision with an oncoming vehicle travelling at high speed on a windy dirt road is very high when visibility is limited and there is no room to manoeuvre22 votes -
Horse
I’d like an option to identify preferred routes based on vehicle size/towing. Some routes are quicker for a car as they can navigate bends and turns quickly however when driving with a horse float on or a large SUV with a caravan these routes are not conducive and slow others down.

Support ODB bluetooth dongles
Allow the use of an ODB bluetooth dongle to get a number of improvements. These dongles are quite cheap and provide a wealth of extra data. Possible uses:
[ Better dead reckoning using vehicle speed ]
Using the actual vehicle speed combined with compass, accelerometer and map matching it should be possible to have accurate positioning in tunnels/urban canyons. TomTom does this and is able to do near-perfect positioning with only one GPS datapoint every 30 minutes.[ Monitor fuel usage ]
Things like planning a gas stop could be automated. When the tank gets below a certain…31 votes -
Rest area icons and an Altimeter
I use Waze literally every time I get in my vehicle. For both local driving and road trips. It would be awesome to have an altimeter on the screen and to have it show rest areas on the map. Maybe in map editing if we could add rest areas and other places with restrooms to the maps that would be great and a major help for travelers.

Add public transportation in app for users to choose as their vehicle type to match available restriction settings in WME.
In WME we have: Private, Electric, Motorcycle, Public transportation, Taxi.
In the app we have: Private, Taxi, Motorcycle (+ EV in a different menu)Main use case would be for unscheduled buses, such as tour buses, school buses, private hire buses, etc. that are not really “public transport”, but are allowed to use bus-only roads and turns.
Local authorities can define bus+taxi or just bus restrictions for turns and streets. We can map this correctly in WME, but then users don’t have an option that would route them through public transport only areas.7 votes -
Alert police on both sides of the road
Currently, waze only provides an alert when approaching police on the same side of the road. In Australia, police will check vehicle speed in both directions. Waze should have the option to provide alerts when approaching police on the opposite side of the road.

I would like to use as "Hazard on Side of Road" ALERT.I could assign to a "Shoulder Hazard", you mighht want to dedicate it to Police, someone else might want it to be Item on Road, someone along coast might be Water on Road.
Currently must do 5 steps-
"Orange Update"/"Hazard"/"Shoulder"/"Vehicle Stopped"/"Send".
THAT IS a lot of steps to do especially if by yourself.
Also buy the time I get it sent, I might be at next exit??
Does it locate on map at 1st touch of…1 vote -
How to increase pedestrians and cyclists safety
How to increase pedestrians and cyclists safety
By defining new Waze modes of operation, the central computer could get the location of any pedestrian or cyclist connected to the Waze application.
The following safety features could be specially helpful when the weather is misty or rainy:
The central computer could derive that a pedestrian is crossing a wide road and could inform the near by vehicle drivers. As a result the driver will slow down.
When driving on a narrow road, any car driver could be warned that he is approaching of a walking pedestrian or of a bicycle rider…7 votes -
UK Railway Network LOW Bridges Add Visual and Audible Warnings on approach
UK Railway Networks has 100s of LOW Bridges across UK. Please add Visual and Audible Warnings on approach and give drivers an option to AVOID low bridges. i.e. ask height of vehicle and suggest alternative routes avoiding low bridges. I am happy to help to source a list of all Low Bridges on UK Rail Network.
Every year in Britain there are about 2,000 bridge strikes, where road vehicles hit railway bridges and viaducts – that's an average of more than five every day. Each incident can cause hours of delays for tens of thousands of rail passengers –…

two vehicle profiles on one account
I have two devices. My first device is my phone that I only use in the car (android auto). The other device is a fixed tablet on my motorcycle. I use one Waze account but the problem is that Waze syncs everything.
I want the option to easily switch (or auto switch depending on device) from car to motorcycle, but including the navigation settings. With my motorcycle it is no problem to take offroad tracks, but with my car I do not want that.

Contribution to avoid multiple accidents and make Waze a more important tool
The central idea is to interface a two-way communication between the application and the car's computer (this makes it easier when the vehicle has an integrated screen, which would allow Waze to access vehicle information. All this information is impulse electronics that activate lights, warnings or any device to generate corrections, low pressure in the tires, lack of fuel, defect in some mechanical part, etc. Etc. etc. the idea that is waze read them and interpret them as warnings, in this In this sense, the human time to carry out or interpret an emergency is reduced, this could generate an…

Allow user to see turn-by-turn direction list when using Waze via Android Auto.
When connected via Android Auto and using Waze there is no means to pull up the turn-by-turn directions list, even if the vehicle is parked. This forces the driver to drive "blind", not knowing what to expect between the start of the trip and the destination. In city use cases, this makes Waze via Android Auto unusable.

Max speed!
For me, there's only one simple addition that would make Waze the perfect GPS. The ability to enter the max allowed speed for the vehicle. For truck-drivers, caravan-drivers e.g. you're not allowed to reach the max speed on motorways e.g., so you'll manually have to calculate the additional time to your destination. TomTomGO has this. Make it happen! :)

Type of hazard
Better options for reporting a hazard, particularly a hazard that is in live lane of carriageway. One example that stands out would be to report a car that has stopped in the live carriageway. Currently, I can only report a vehicle on shoulder.
Example: 'Report - Hazard - Vehicle Stopped in Carriageway'.
This is a very important reporting option.
Example 2: 'Report - Hazard - Wildlife in Carriageway'.
Basically, more hazard reporting options would be useful.5 votes -
Differentiate "dirt road" of "4x4 trail".
"Dirt road / 4x4 trail" should be called "4x4 trail" only, and keep the same navigation capabilities as now, only to be allocated as such the badly damaged roads that only 4x4 vehicles are able to travel it.
In the "street category" should be added a new type of segment called "dirt road", which would be passable streets for any vehicle but their ability to circulate them may vary due to various external factors such as weather. Because of this, they should suffer some level of penalty in the routing, and allows the "avoid dirt roads" in the application…55 votes -
Save vehicles
Sometimes I ride my motorbike, sometimes I drive my car. Both have different properties. The car uses diesel, and have highway vignette. With bike, I don’t go on highways, and it uses petrol 95. It would be nice to have an option when I open Waze, that it asks me “which vehicle are you using?”. Then I can choose my car or bike, and it loads in their previously saved properties, so i don’t have to change them one-by-one every time I change my vehicles. I believe I’m not the one who uses different types of vehicles, so…

Add Hazard for Vehicles Stopped in the Lane
I have a feature suggestion that could improve road safety and the accuracy of hazard reporting. Currently, Waze allows users to report vehicles stopped on the shoulder, but there is no option to report vehicles stopped directly in the driving lane.
Such situations pose a significant danger to other drivers, especially at night or in poor visibility conditions. Adding a hazard category specifically for "Vehicle stopped in lane" would help alert drivers more effectively and enhance safety for everyone on the road.

Optimization Proposal for Waze – Integration of Support for Buses and Trucks
To enhance user experience and expand the app’s target audience, it is recommended to add dedicated support for heavy and public vehicles such as buses and trucks. This feature would include the following components:
Customized Driver Profiles – An option to select the type of vehicle: truck, bus, private car, motorcycle, etc.
Tailored Route Planning – Routes would consider height and weight restrictions, specific traffic signs (e.g., "No entry for trucks"), and restricted access zones.
Integration of Dedicated Lanes – For buses: display of bus-only lanes (such as BRT or HOV lanes) and incorporate their availability into route…

Added icons response vehicle's that transmit to the intelligent traffic system
Add icons for tow trucks and roadside response vehicle that have ability to report to the smart traffic management system. I use the pi-link system that reports to waze and maps, however I show on map as a car on shoulder, not an emergency tow response. I work with odot and multiple law enforcement agencies. The more warning drivers have the more likely I am not going to be another emergency responder hit by another motorist
