  1. Sharing phone accelerometer data as an early warning to slow

Imagine being able to see around corners to know that someone has just braked really hard up ahead
or swerved lanes? Waze could collect acceleration data and use it as an early warning to cars behind.

The DriveScore app uses the same phone accelerometer data to provide personal driving style feedback to the owner. But wouldn't it be so much better to share it with the cars nearby?

As an example, if every driver in lane 3 of a motorway is slowing, changing lanes then speeding up again at the same static location, there will likely be a…

  2. Edit Pothole Location If Passed

sometimes it takes time to click report and select the option of a pothole. But by this time, you have either passed it or are unable to use your phone for Whatever reason such as inability to touch phone screen etc. So having the ability to show on the map where the pothole was would help users of the app avoid the pothole before getting to it as my experiences that I hit the pothole before I’m warned about it. Sorry for example, just like when you order an Uber taxi, you are able to drop a pin showing your…

  3. 200 meter alert

Waze is great, but the turn announcements aren't as good as my 2006 Garmin Nuvi. They tend to be at 5 minutes, 1 mile, and right now! Several times, I have let my guard down and been in the wrong lane and unable to turn at the "turn right" cue immediately before an exit. A time/speed/distance based "turn coming" reminder at about 200 meters would be very helpful.

  4. How do I update the Waze maps it uses. I have a turn lane that Waze doesn't recognize and programs an alternate route that is impractical.

When I leave my complex, there is only a right turn. So to go the opposite direction a U turn must be made. Waze doesn't have the convenient place to U turn in it's maps. How do I amend the maps to include it.

  5. Add Completely Custom Routes

I would like the option to draw my own route. I often use Waze, not just to get places I've never been, but to time my arrival to places locally and be alerted to traffic incidents.

Overall I love Waze, but I can't use it much because it wants to "optimize" my route, which often takes me straight through dangerous construction areas (single lane concrete barrier interstate death chutes). We have a ton of construction in my area right now on almost every major road. I don't want to avoid all highways or interstates or even all of one interstate,…

  6. Utilise Waze's live traffic data to manage traffic flow for an entire city

Utilise Waze's live traffic data to manage traffic flow for an entire city by interfacing with traffic control systems, like lights and lanes, and charge local governments for the increased productivity.

  7. Android Auto Version

Android Autos version of Waze is too limited.

    *Pave option should be added
*Comments on reports allowed, even if only by voice input (very helpful for map editors on both ends)
*Allow reading of map comments, even if not replying. Many times this includes important information like the lane of an issue.
*Allow for location search, using voice if needed of locations while moving. Even my car from 2014 can do that much.

If none of those, add a toggle button that allows app use to be switched between phone and car screen, which will solve everything, to include being…

  8. ‘Zoom in to issue’ from route overview

The ‘route overview/timeline’ is good but it doesn't let you understand what the issues on your route are in any detail just has the logos eg 3 traffic, a broken down car and police

Can I click on the issues to quickly zoom to an overview of that area so I know where those police are, what kinda traffic disruption it is.

Sometimes these are normal eg the traffic at those temp lights. Other times it could be I big deal eg the beginnings of an unplanned closure and diversion.

Currently if planing a long drive I would have go…

  9. Offer way for users to edit/correct/identify false reports OR...

Have a way for users to contest a traffic notice entered by other users. Here in Los Angeles we use a lot of residential streets, especially to get through the canyons. Lately, residents on smaller streets have been adding fake/erroneous notices such as hazards (e.g., construction) or road closures to try to get drivers to take other routes. It would be great if Waze had one of three options: users can delete false reports, users can comment on reports for all users to see (not just the person who reported the issue), or a thumbs down feature so that…

  10. About traffic information

We propose the use of Bing Maps traffic information in combination with Waze bots as an effective means of responding to natural disasters. This combination will improve disaster response by providing fast and accurate road closure information.

First, Bing Maps traffic information provides real-time traffic conditions across a wide geographic area. This can be used to quickly determine which areas are affected in the event of a disaster. However, for information on road closures and other detailed road conditions, community-based approaches such as Waze bots can be beneficial.

Waze bots provide instant information on traffic conditions and road closure

  12. Map & Command more like Google!

    PLEASE READ & VOTE!!
Instead of “Turn right / left in .1 miles” (esp. for in-town and city driving) change to Google-like commands (e.g.- “At the next light / stop sign, turn right/left) and SHOW Device - light or sign at corners - on the map, as such - sign or light).
Doing so also helps to know HOW MANY lights or signs remain between you and your next turn.
It’s impractical to watch your mileage in these conditions. It’s more “natural” - as when someone is telling you directions in the passenger seat - to look for the next…

  13. Link address from other apps

Most functional Waze yet! Navigation seems spot on and not obtrusive like Google's offering. Main thing is Waze is really accurate! Google Maps loses its way and gets me lost! Like the fresh look of Waze. Loads really fast on Note 4 Marshmallow. Love the send ETA so people I choose can monitor my drive in real time!

Few wish list items and believe me, not trying to turn Waze into Google Maps! So just the essentials..

    1. Could use lane assist.

    2. Need to get links from Yelp, Google Now, and other websites to share the actual destination not unknown street…

  14. Context-Aware Voice Instructions

To improve the clarity and relevance of voice instructions in Waze, I propose integrating advanced contextual awareness into the navigation system. This feature would include:

    Detailed Contextual Cues

    1. Landmark-Based Instructions:
    • Incorporate landmarks and notable points of interest into navigation prompts. For example, “Once you go past the Costa Coffee on your right, prepare to turn right” or “After you pass the second set of traffic lights, switch to the left lane and prepare for a left turn.”
    2. Milestone Guidance:
    • Provide instructions based on specific milestones in the journey. For instance, “Continue straight until you reach the

  15. "Prefer Freeways" instead of "Avoid Tolls"

Currently, you can set Waze to 'avoid tolls' which is handy - but this prevents Waze from recommending tollways when there is traffic on the freeway. For example, in Dallas we have 635 and 635 Express. Both follow the exact same path, the only difference is the express lanes cost around $5. It would be very nice if Waze would prefer the freeway, but still recommend the tollway if there is significant traffic reported on the freeway.

Also, Waze seems to have trouble telling if I am on the freeway or tollway, since they are basically right next to…

  16. Make a police in motion icon.

The Icon will move at the with the current speed of the Wazer who tapped it. The Icon would move for 1 KM and then dissappear. This would be helpful for those speeding in the HOV lanes or going opposite traffic. Police have radars that will track you if you are approaching them now.

  17. Turn traffic, ability to report and to use in navigation

There must be an option to report traffic for a specific turn. The reason is that a given road may be moving well through an intersection, but specifically a left turn lane onto an intersecting road can be jammed. In such a case the navigator won't use that road to turn left and find another route.

As an example. Let's say I am driving on Main St and there are 3 intersecting roads coming up, Street 1, Street 2, and Street 3. My destination is at Street 2, where I need to turn left from Main St. Waze doesn't know…

  19. making sure Waze know what driver you are

the past few months I've been getting tickets because i was driving in a bus lane. i never knew how i would end up in this situation. until i called up to pay a 500NIS ticket and the lady suggested i check my Waze setting to see what my car is registered under. unfortunately when i check it was registered as a taxi. i now know why i got all those tickets. i don't even remember it asking if i was a taxi, i have never been a taxi driver. all im asking from Waze ks to make a…

  20. Avoid traffic jams.

I often travel with 3 kids on long road trips. Always rather be moving than standing in place with screaming kids and I am SURE a lot of people would agree. I recently had a trip take 10+ hours instead of the original 7 because of completely predictable and avoidable traffic jams on highways. Clearly not there in the middle of the night when I depart but jams there every day since they are because of ongoing construction work on a lane. I kind of assumed waze already tried to help you avoid these but I guess I was…
