  1. Fix the "no navigation icon on launch" bug

I have noticed that about 40% of the time I launch Waze, the map opens by there is no locator shown. That is, the arrow representing my position is absent. Then I have to quit and re-launch Waze anywhere from 1-3 times to make it appear. I can navigate without it because the route will still be shown on the map and I can infer my position since I'm kept at the centre - but the icon is gone. As stated earlier, relaunching normally fixes this but sometimes I need to relaunch multiple times in a row. Very annoying.

  3. No vocal instruction is needed for the normal (fastest) route

Assume that I commute to my work every day and if there is no traffic jam, I know what is the best/fastest route and for that I don't need any vocal instruction (to remind me, where to turn left...) In this situation it's only annoying.

The suggestion would be: add an option for "professional commuters" and for the normal fastest way, by default activate "Alerts only" and in case, there is a faster route, then activate "Sound on".

  5. More realistic ETA for long drives

There should be a feature that allows you to choose in options, how many stops you make either per distance or time, and how long on average are those stops as well as whether you tend to drive slightly above or below the speed limit. Then allow Waze to make adjustments to the ETA based off those personalized settings. For example, I add about 25min per hour drive and it’s much closer to my expected ETA than what Waze provides.

  6. favourite gas station price list (either highlighted on map or make a separate tab with list of them)

I live in big city /distance between work and home is 10+ km/. that means I dont see all gas stations around me (waze shows only 3km around your actual position). I would prefer to have a list or possibility to browse on map gas stations I am interested in. Or make them favourable and show them always on map .. so I can easily check where is the lowest price. without setting to navigate me home and going to the option to see any nearby gas stations on may way to/from work.

  7. Hide My Waze/Where to bars

Make an option to hide My Waze/Where to? bars by default.
No, contrary to what you PMs/Dev folks keep saying, these bars do NOT hide themselves.
This is a show stopper. I cannot use the app like this, nor can most of us.
Provide an option to start with those bars hidden and accessible by a swipe up from the bottom.
    Yes, I know this is a duplicate; but, y'all aren't listening to.your users about a P1 issue.

  8. Favela maps in Brazil

Favelas, in Brazil, should be mapped in Waze and users alerted everytime that a proposed traject would enter in one. From a quick search in local
Social Media, you can find history about assaults, robbery, thefts and even murders of waze users that inadvertently followed waze in the middle of a Favela.
Some police offices in Brazil already calls it "the waze victims". And, I'm hearing more and more people complaining about this issue. Yesterday, I almost entered in a Favela following Waze instructions and I can understand what people was talking about...

Hope this can help to save lifes.

  10. Normal waze voice but putting the word “the” in front of highway numbers because that’s how people from California talk

A normal, female or male voice that provides normal directions but uses “the” in front of highway name. i.e. take “the” 57 to “the” 101. This is how Californians call highways and it’s really funny to hear the contrast between natives and people that aren’t from California.

  13. traffic light sequence

Major cities have synchronized traffic lights.
I'd suggest a couple of Waze features to help drivers make use of these systems:
    1. indicate the optimal (real time) speed to "catch" the light sequence and optimize mpg by avoiding stops and braking
    2. reroute to side streets to "parallel" dense traffic that's too slow to catch the light synchronized sequence (e.g. 19th ave, hwy 1 along main beach, geary blvd during commute hours)
    3. learn the real time light sequences (especially to sync the cross streets for the whole route, e.g. going from 25th ave to geary blvd ... miss the…

  14. Make rawgps an option in settings

Currently users get and report “improper navigation” because waze has snapped the user to an a segment that the driver is not actually on. Using the rawgps mode users can easily see where they are and what segment the app thinks the user is on.
By making this segment more widely known and available more users will be aware when waze has snapped them onto an incorrect segment and will be able to identify the cause of incorrect navigation instructions, and maybe solve the problem themself. Knowing is half the battle, and this is an easy way for waze to…

  15. Alerts on “Map View” when choosing routes

Whenever you type a destination it gives you 3 route options with lines in “List View” that show potential hazards, traffic and visible police. You should also have those same hazards show up when you click “Map View” and see the 3 different colored routes, so there is a better visual as to where those “alerts” are actually located. This would be easier than having to guess by the line.

  16. Map 2D/3D/Auto tap to cycle

Modified functionality of the map icon. Would be great if one touch of the map icon cycles it between 2d 3d and auto.

Press and hold to pop up the detailed settings for maps.

    Thanks

  17. Fewer taps to make a report

When using CarPlay (or even my phone when I'm the right-side passenger), to report a vehicle stopped on the side of the road I must tap the orange "Report" circle, choose "Hazard," "Shoulder," "Vehicle Stopped." In CarPlay, when driving that takes my eyes from the road at least four times to identify/locate/push the appropriate button to make the report. Rather than spelling out the words for each part of the notice - perhaps readily identifiable icons could be "stacked" under the headings. As with "QWERTY," there are gestures/reports most often used that could be located in priority locations on the…

Nothing to do with your friends friday night?
Game mode on wazer will change video games in real life.
Ideas are there, the base of the game is there, we just need to create it.

  20. Send push notification of danger / police when waze isnt open.

Hi, so let's say you get in your car, you're just going to Walmart. You know where walmart is.. so you don't open waze. There's a cop/ object on road on your road. Waze sends u a push notification alerting you even if it's not actively open on your phone.

Yes this will waste battery but hear me out.
You can make it where you choose what kinds of alerts you want while "offline" and to save battery you can code the app to launch in the background only while driving. So it's not always a background process wasting battery. …
