Create a "dangerous spot" alert
I live in São Paulo - Brazil, and unfortunately we have a serious problem with violence in traffic.
Just a few days ago I was a victim of an armed robbery in a very know avenue, and we have a lot of spots that this kind of action is frequent.
So, my suggestion is that drivers can allert and input information like this so waze can identify this spots and maybe even suggest a detour depending on time day (since this actions are much more frequent at late hours).

Enable the Difficult Turn setting to be time/day specific
Today we have the ability to mark a turn as difficult, but we don't have a way to say it is only difficult during certain times of the day like during commute hours, or even to be only weekdays when there is commute traffic.
The current UI could easily be updated to move the difficult turn box to the end of each row for the restriction. That way if an editor sets up a time for a restriction, it now becomes an option to be 100% restricted, or just difficult.
The editor could then set up a left turn…

Darker night mode
The night mode is way too bright and distracting while driving at night. We need the option for a black background rather than light grey. Google Maps night mode is excellent for this, follow that example!

Alert Signal ahead
Dear Waze Team,
I strongly recommend adding voice alerts for upcoming traffic.
Traffic signals are placed even on straight roads with no intersections
The sunlight glare during peak hours makes signal visibility very difficult.
Pedestrian crossings and school zones have signals with no visual cues from afar
This feature would significantly improve safety, reduce violations, and help drivers who are new to the city or unfamiliar with signal placement.
Even a simple alert like:
“⚠️ Traffic signal ahead”

Good afternoon, I wanted to suggest streamlining the Waze system. In light of recent truck crashes on bridges, I would enter a figure for the maximum height of all bridges, so that before each trip, the truck driver would have to measure the maximum height and enter the figure into the Waze system, and the system would automatically navigate the driver to the road with the bridge at the appropriate height. This would save on accidents and, God forbid, loss of life.

Lock the chosen route
When i choose a route, I want the option to just follow that without change! Sometimes waze changes the route because of allegedly less traffic route, but the reroute takes me longer & farther! Sometimes I just want to stick with the original route! Give us this choice!

They also make the roads hazardous by forcing drivers around them unnecessarily, possibly causing accidents and getting away with it. Please add this to your information - police and city councils ignore this fact, yet there are laws and old signs.

REVERSIBLE ROADS
There are some countries (At least in Santiago, Chile and Mexico City where I live) that due to a high traffic times, some of the main streets gets REVERSIBLE, meaning that from certain times of the day the regular way of the street is REVERSED so the traffic can be more fluid. I would like to propose the facility of making REVERSIBLE roads

Autodetect closures and closed roads
Waze should automatically detect closures and close roads without relying on Wazers to use the in-app closure function or on map editors to add them. Just as Waze can detect traffic and reroute, it could also detect when no one follows the directed guidance and there is zero traffic on a segment. Then when Wazer start driving on the segment again it could reopen.
Google Maps (part of Google Geo) gets closure info from Waze. And Waze (part of Google Geo) should also get closure info from Google Maps. It doesn't now, and instead will route Wazers into a closed…

I am nominating my beautiful bride Tammy Dombeck to be one of your voices. Tammy was the Traffic reporter on the NBC affiliate in Dallas-Fort Worth for 14 years. After she left, she spent 3 years at the CBS affiliate as their morning and afternoon traffic reporter. We live in Fort Worth and I commute to Dallas during the week so I have been using yoru app for a couple of years. Love it. What I do miss is seeing and hearing Tammy give her traffic reports. Map scale indicator
Have you ever wondered how many miles long that traffic jam is up ahead? I sure have, but Waze gives no indication of distances on a map. How about one of the little bars that indicates the scale of the current map view - you know 1 inch equals a mile, etc.

Estimating the time to pass tunnels using average speed
When Waze suggests a path with a tunnel, the estimation time is always incorrect, and I cannot conclude that this is the best route. For example, if the time to pass a tunnel without traffic is 2 min and I pass it in 10 min (because of traffic), then after I came out of the tunnel, the estimation time become +8 min. I think Waze uses instantaneous velocity and GPS location to estimate traffic. In tunnels, GPS doesn't work (and many of tunnels don't have beacons), so Waze does not compute traffic in tunnels. Add "avoid border crossings" setting, just like avoid toll roads or ferries.
Navigating from New York to Detroit, there's a route that crosses through Canada. I didn't bring my passport and wish to avoid this, but if I manually force another route, I might miss out on traffic-responsive optimizations. It should be possible to avoid border crossings just like any other route preference.

Audible alert needed to detour
Detour alerts need to be spoken; when driving we cannot always stop & read the alert until it is too late & are stuck in stopped traffic.

Map Zoom
If I am on a Waze path trying to see where I go next, the zoom feature does not work all that well. I'd like to be able to zoom out to see where I am going and to check traffic, but the zoom only will go out for a second, then zooms back in. NOt a fan of this feature and finding myself using Google maps to check traffic and see a path on the map as opposed to Waze zoomed in on the next 500'. I cannot get the map to zoom out to a decent level.
