Larger arrows in colour coding for traffic congestion
The colour coding for traffic congestion arrows are hidden when on your route. They should be larger in order to unhide from the pink line representing your route.

Heavy traffic: "make a corridor for emergency vehicle access"
Hello,
in some countries it is mandatory to make a corridor for emergency vehicle access (According to Wikipedia: Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary and Germany) when you are stuck in heavy traffic. Although there are a lot of campaigns on building a "Rettungsgasse" in Germay, a lot of people still don't do it, potentially endangering the life of the victims of accidents.
I suggest adding the recommendation to form this corridor to the alert for heavy traffic and standstill.

Scan traffic while we sleep
The option to punch in how long it takes you to get ready.
Example, I take 12 minutes from the time I wake up to the time I'm leaving my house.
Waze scans the traffic for you while you're sleeping and will wake you up with an alarm if traffic is heavy and you should leave earlier than usual.

Traffic Jam
I've been sitting in a traffic jam for hours. Originally Waze said I would get through the traffic in 9 mins. It now says 7 mins but there is literally no end in site. It will be hours. My husband went through the same issue in this area this morning. Waze still isn't showing that there is a huge traffic jam here and accurately calculating the time! I could have driven there and back 3 times. I should have never been sent this way.

add option to disable traffic based routing
When routing, waze often attempts to route around traffic. Waze is used occasionally for just the first part of a journey (navigating a downtown area, for example) and I find it selecting a completely different route every time I use it because it attempts to route around the traffic at work.
Another example is that during extremely heavy traffic in a snowstorm, waze had me exiting at every freeway exit and then entering the freeway again, simply because the freeway exits had little traffic on them compared to the freeway itself.

I sometimes get to a place where the traffic has normalized but Waze still show high traffic.

Live traffic information from Government and Community sources
Some countries, states and governments provide an official traffic information feed that can be viewed by the community.
The RTA (Roads and Traffic Authority) in Australia provides information in a news feed based on area, that are contributed to by the RTA, police, fire, ambulance, state emergency services, and the community in general.
Im not sure of other countries setups, but it would be nice to implement some already available sources of official traffic conditions that could be viewed in waze and notfy the users of the problems.

Avoid red light cameras
Hi, I would like to suggest that at the section where we choose to avoid unpaved roads, freeways, tols etc, you could include the choice to Avoid Red light Cameras or other permanent road cameras.

Rush Hour in Los Angeles
Rush Hour in Los Angeles: first, there are surprisingly few left turn light signals in Los Angeles (LA) at major intersections. second, especially at rush hour in LA (which is most of the time) it is next to impossible to make a left onto a major road or cross it without a traffic light or 4-way stop sign. third, if a route says there is 'heavy' traffic up ahead or traffic is 'at a standstill', route me a different way!

Waze traffic alarm
Every time I leave my office or my house, I need to review on waze my alternative routes, the problem is, that most of the times .. im on a hurry and i forget to review the routes, and even though waze has all the information needed to select the best route alternative, I dont have the time to review it and choose the best route with all the available waze information.
Wouldnt it be great if I could set an alarm for a certain time (mornings, or when I leave the office) and that waze provides me a full…

Auto Detect Speed in Traffic
Instead of the user selecting the "level" of traffic, Waze should automatically detect the user's speed for a specified time and/or distance to calculate an accurate delay due to the traffic. Then Waze should continue to monitor new users as they pass through the traffic zone to determine if the event is still occurring or if it needs to be removed and transit times recalculated.

WAZE should allow user to change Traffic Jam status to none
I have driven past & through areas that show traffic slowdowns/jams on WAZE but the traffic is flowing fine. I can find nowhere in WAZE to delete the Traffic Jam problem or change the status to NO slowdown like I can when Hazard or Police is no longer there.

Long Time Report from WME or Livemap
I think this is something that has been asked and requested for a long time from all over the world.
I think that it would be very useful to be able to insert Long Time Reports from WME or Livemap, also in order to better manage crisis or event situations.
The Report should Be:
Work on Road
Narrow or Low Road
Dangerous Road
Landslide
Changing lane

Cancel traffic report due to bad GPS signal
Occasionally the client automatically creates a traffic load report (due to bad GPS signal?), even though the traffic is flowing freely. It would be nice to be able to cancel such a report.
5 votesYou can cancel a report that you have sent. You need to view this event from the list view (after pressing the ! with the events number next to it).
Then choose to show the options for this report, and ask to delete it. -

Use predictive modeling to better route traffic during a major traffic event
Western Washington state experienced a major traffic event when a train derailed and shut down Interstate 5 for the whole day. 60K vehicles use that stretch of I-5 every day. I used Waze to navigate home, but a 40 minute drive turned into 5.5 hours because of the accident and using side roads.
Waze tried its best to find the best route, but the predicted two-hour drive kept getting worse and worse. Of course, there's not much historic information to know how to the side and back roads would reach to that much traffic flooding onto them, but Waze failed…

Route change warning due to traffic or closure
It would be nice to get a warning of when a route is changed from the original route, especially taking local roads instead of freeway due to traffic or closure. I could see a few traffic pins before navigating, but usually it's not a big deal because it's typically a minor slowdown. At times, there are no pins before navigating because the route is different than normal. People are accustomed to their daily routine route that it can cause temporary confusion on why the route is changed.

red light camera alerts less frequent
I have two red light cameras on my commute. They appear the same way as alerts for police or accidents >>with a request to confirm it<<....every single day.
For alerts that seldom change, I suggest an alert without the confirmation request. Or perhaps request to confirm it once/month.26 votesThank you for your suggestion!
