1. Road Avoidance

   A way to tell Waze to avoid certain roads in the app, similar to tolls etc. but any road of my choosing.
   I sometimes drive vehicles that can’t go down some roads and it would be really useful to be able to tell the app to never navigate me down roads I tell it not too.

2. Add "HIGHWAY FIRST" to route preference

   When there are several routes available, I've noticed that Waze may calculate a route that combines both ground roads and highways. This is done to save a little time or reduce toll fees but can result in entering the highway from a distant entrance or exiting the highway too early. This approach leads to more instances of entering and exiting, as well as increased interactions with other drivers, which is unnecessary and more dangerous.

   I suggest implementing a "HIGHWAY FIRST" preference. When a highway is available, the system should calculate a route that prioritizes the use of highways, even if it's slightly longer, more expensive, or takes a bit more time. This route should then be offered as an option for users to decide on their own.

   I believe this will greatly assist new drivers and help reduce accidents.

3. Improving on route and more functions.

   I been using waze daily for work as uber driver. There is time can be annoying when waze divert me to another route which is less traffic and mileage is far than origin route. This may cause additional cost on the fare and some riders may not feel comfortable if any route change. My suggestion to waze is have a option for waze as below:-

   1) Option to ignore traffic jams so we can maintain current route without any diversion to other route. Let waze user to choose to stuck in traffic or find alternative route. :)

   2) Option to avoid small country/inner roads due to inner road conditions may not be comfortable/too many turns/junctions.

   3) Lane assist for waze user due to turn to turn alert may experience delay/inaccurate.

   4) Navigation > Fastest/shortest route need improvement. Calculation on mileage/km still not accurate as it seems. During waze i find there is better route and nearer based on distance/Km compare to suggestion by waze.

   5) To add a economy route on navigation - based on nearest distance/km by using highway and mixture of non toll roads.

   * Is it possible to have a choice as to the tolls or not?
   * for future updates would it be possible to have an option to search by name wazer?
   * and finally for the road, allowing them to choose routes heavyweight?

5. Suggest a faster route with Vignettes/passes

   This happens very often: You plan a trip. It should take e.g. 12 hours using highways.

   Then you open Waze and forget to add the pass/Vignette. The Waze offers you a route. You glance at it and don't see it is taking back roads on the overview, so you accept it and start driving...

   After 10/12 hours you realize you are only halfway there and you won't arrive to your accomodation on time (happens more than you'd think)... what happened? Waze didn't prompt you to add the pass/Vignette for a faster route.

   Yes, I have the option to offer the fastest route + toll roads allowed in the options. Still no offer to use the highway.

   It's confusing, especially if you need multiple passes/Vignettes to reach your location.

   E.g. driving from Czechia to Croatia can take you through Czech, Slovak, Hungarian (or alternatively Austrian), Slovenian and then Croatian highways. If you forget to add one of them, you can be routed through totally different countries then you expect... and the journey can take 4 instead of 2 days.

   Therefore I suggest Waze always checks and offers the fastest route with a prompt. Something like: "If you add these passes/Vignettes: [names], your journey may be 12 hours shorter."

6. Avoid paid routes

   In one of previous versions of waze was option "avoid paid routes" which was replaced by an "avoid highway". We would Like to opportunity for return "avoid paid routes" option. Because, for example here in Slovakia, we have so-called "bypasses" - highways around large cities, which are part of highways but are not tolled.

7. Insert the complete destination location above the data of missing kilometers

   Che ne pensate di chiedere waze di inserire queste due piccole indicazioni nella schermata dai il navigatore.
   1) Inserire la località di destinazione completa sopra ai dati di chilometri mancanti e tempo mancante per raggiungere la meta in pratica la meta non è più visibile dopo averla inserita se non riducendo la schermata in cerca del punto d’arrivo.
   2) Inserire un’icona rapida che consente velocemente di scegliere il tipo di percorso cioè se strade con pedaggio autostrade strade bianche traghetti eccetera.

   1) Insert the complete destination location above the data of missing kilometers and time remaining to reach the destination, in practice the destination is no longer visible after having inserted it unless you reduce the screen in search of the arrival point.
   2) Insert a quick icon that allows you to quickly choose the type of route, i.e. whether toll roads, motorways, dirt roads, ferries, etc.
   3) Insert the car or pedestrian icon based on the choice made previously

9. Restricted area

   Much like being asked if it's okay to travel on a route with tolls. There should be an option or a prompt to ask about driving through a restricted area/military base on your route. I used Waze the other day to find a post office and it took my right to a security check point of a military base. Would have been nice to know that's where the app was taking me.

Based on personal experience, Waze has sometimes routed users through dangerous neighborhoods, which can be especially hazardous for tourists or those unfamiliar with the area.

    This feature should allow users to flag roads where recent crime has occurred or where safety is a concern. These reports could be time-stamped and reviewed by the community, similar to how speed traps or traffic accidents are currently handled.

    In addition, Waze should add a toggle in the app’s navigation settings—like those for avoiding tolls or highways—that allows users to automatically avoid high-risk areas when planning a route. 12. Put the avoid freeways option on the route page. Stop hiding it.

    Avoid Freeways option needs to be moved to the routes page. Make it as easy for us to change as the avoid tolls is.

    Right now you have it buried and it takes a few clicks to get to it. And we all know that Waze does not give alternative routes UNLESS Avoid Freeways is turn off.

14. crucial alerts should be more informative and different from normal ones

    I am an avid fan and frequent user of waze. literally anywhere and anytime I am planning a route I use waze, and I always suggest and inform people about its benefits. But Yesterday we had a very bad experience using it.
    Our trip was from Vaduz to Grindelwald (Switzerland)
    Waze always alarms about C- Zones, Toll roads at the beginning of choosing the route, ... and it did the same about vignette but the confusing thing is that it did not say that we have to select our type of pass from the list to avoid narrow and minor roads.
    My assumption was that it is just an informative alarm like always, so as we already had our vignette pass we ignored it. but now am sure that the assumption of the app was that we do not have it so it should provide us with alternative routes. Which was much longer, minor roads and also country lanes( which barely 2 motorbikes could pass each other), extremely hazardous, especially in rain and fog condition, which very much endangered our lives. The level of stress we experience was very unnecessary as from yesterday till now we are dealing with the fear and we cannot enjoy the holiday we planned and paid for.

    Allow users to report the quality of the road surface (beyond the occasion pothole / object in the road). A crowd sourced critique of how smooth/good the road surface is that has “permanence”. Like construction notices, when planning routes out of town, this could help drivers avoid bad sections of Interstate/ State routes. Add this category to reporting button so drivers can share their assessment, recheck every mile (“still a road quality of rough?) once a driver flags the road surface as poor / rough / bumpy / etc. Not to be alerted, but to be used in route planning alternatives (set like avoid tolls, avoid road segments of a certain poor quality).

    Waze repeatedly routes users through extremely dangerous areas and known hijacking hotspots in order to save only a few minutes of travel time. This has placed myself, my family members, and many others into life-threatening situations, including multiple attempted hijackings.
    This is not hypothetical. There is documented precedent of fatal incidents caused by GPS routing into unsafe areas in South Africa, including the widely reported case of an elderly couple murdered in Cape Town after following GPS directions to an unsafe intersection.
    In South Africa, road safety is not primarily about accident risk — it is about violent crime, ambush points, and predictable hijacking patterns. Optimising purely for travel time without a safety-based routing option creates foreseeable and preventable harm.
    I am requesting that Waze introduce a “Safety-first” or “Avoid high-risk areas” routing option, even if it increases travel time. Similar logic already exists for avoiding toll roads or ferries, and this feature is critically necessary for high-risk regions.
    Multiple people close to me, including my sister and girlfriend, have stopped using Waze entirely due to repeated exposure to dangerous situations.

19. CarPlay UI Improvements

    1st Make the Confirmation / Not there road notification buttons to be in opposite screen location and not right on top of the other to avoid “fat fingers” (common on bumpy roads with touchscreen interfaces).

20. Tip drivers for Police sightings

    Allow me to tip drivers that post a police sighting, potentially saving me from a ticket. I’d give $0.50 every time I passed a police officer that was noted by another driver. I see the report that says “you helped this many people” give them the option to tip so I can pay for coffee and tolls on the road.
