  1. pedestrian

There have been an influx of people walking on freeways annd on-ramps. Adding a warning for pedestrians (illegally) walking on freeway would be beneficial for drivers.

  2. Guide me to my parked car

Dropping a parked car dot is great, but it's not always intuitive which way I need to walk to find my car after a long day. Waze could use my device's compass and gps location to literally point me back to my car, or any other point on the map. This is not a "walking" mode of navigation, but rather a way to view the bearing to a particular point. One way to accomplish this is to simply provide an option to set map rotation to follow the compass rather than north-up or heading-up. Heading-up only helps find…

Great news! The feature about tracking where you parked your car is now available in Waze. Install the latest app version to check it out.

  3. Drive plus walk

Add option to find quickest route with additional walking. Many times waze navigates to exact location without taking into account faster route to near by location. I personally would rather walk an additional 100 meters to avoid sitting in traffic. This is especially warranted when using a taxi who relies on waze and additional cost is influenced by route. This feature can be an added route option without interfering with the basic platform most users prefer.

    Thank you for your suggestion!
Waze can currently direct your partial walking route when it’s a part of a drive or carpool.
We are currently not planning on adding walking mode for complete routes.
Stay tuned for more features and updates on Waze’s social pages on Facebook and Instagram

  6. Homeless hazard sign

I suggest a new hazard - homeless people on intersections and exit ramps. This sign on the app will help drivers to avoid intersections and roads where homeless are walking on the road.

  7. Waze needs to automatically shut down after leaving vehie

Waze stays open, running and consuming large amounts of data and battery once i have arrived at my destination and left my vehicle. It’s still running when I am walking. I need to manually remember it’s running and shut it down.

  8. Disallow all undriverable from being connected to roads to prevent routing errors

Walking trails, boardwalks, stairwell (why does this exist) and railroads SHOULD NOT be permitted to be connected to a junction point on a highway, primary road, street, service road or ramp. By preventing the different types from being connected, it should prevent any routing errors from driveable segments onto non-driveable segments.

  9. Uh oh! Passenger only typing is a stupid idea.

Just admit it was a horrible idea. That's why no other app does it. I mean, it even goes off when I'm walking to my car punching in an address. UH OH! Looks like I'm deleting Waze!

  10. Warn a user if he/she cannot drive exactly to a target because of traffic limitations

If a target is located on a walking trail or a street not allowed for private cars, warn a user on the start of navigation and again when approaching the target that he/she is led to the nearest available point because of the above obstacle.

  11. Taxi Features / Funcionalidades para taxis

Develop options for taxi navigation such as:
    - Routes that have exclusive lanes of taxi use;
    - Proposed destination by proximity that has a shorter travel time for the passenger to end their route by walking. For example, if the navigation can determine that a point of up to 300 meters (parameter) of the destination will significantly reduce the travel time, this can be given as an option to the passenger.

  13. Add SOS waypoints

Motorways, Highways, and interstate's can be dangerous places to be roadside walking. Display icons at each emergency roadside assistance calling points (SOS Points) for use during breakdowns/accidents/emergencies. This would make it obvious which is within the shortest walk distance so as to avoid unnecessary delays in emergencies.

  15. Big truck on side of the road.

Hello, would you consider: an option for "Big Truck" stopped on the shoulder? As someone who drives a commercial motor vehicle over a 130,000 miles a year, I can tell you that the majority of cars on the shoulder are abandoned whereas the majority of big trucks on the shoulder are broken down and or getting service at the time and there's usually a human being somewhere walking in and out of the highway at the truck is being repaired. With a little bit of notice, people will typically move over one lane to the left to allow room for…

  16. Waze Light

    Dear Waze community,

Typically, I rely on Waze to guide me home, however, while leaving a friend's apartment while visiting a foreign country, I found that my fastest route home led me down dark streets and uncrowded areas. Being a young female, I realized that while this was the most efficient way home, it was certainly the least safe. While walking, I realized a vital and potentially life saving feature that could be added to the Waze app would be directions that provided the most lit route in addition to the already offered fastest route. This would benefit not…

  17. Position issues

Starting this new version every time I start Waze is asking me to setup in settings the availability of my location. I am setup from day one on “while using”! Now the only way will not ask every time is if I let it in “Always”! Please fix this. I like all other users use this ap when driving not when walking or sleeping. This is ovation of privacy!

  18. Make it easy to report application problems

When application updates come out and something is now broken, their is no easy way to report application errors, or application problems. Walking through the help center found "Feedback and Suggestions", but you only ask for suggestions, not feedback.
Found a link to Facebook chat, but this is only a one-way conversation. Seems most people go to the application page and leave bad application reviews and a response may or may not be provided.

  19. Entirely new advanced use of the app

Why dont you create a completely new use of the app for blind people while walking. They will listen to the voice instructions where to stop, etc. possibly voice activated searches, or favorite places organised ….endless possibilities and adjusted for the city of the user. for example “crossroad is 20 m on the left” “you are passing by so and so shop. There is new construction ahead reported that was not there yesterday ….

  20. How to increase pedestrians and cyclists safety

How to increase pedestrians and cyclists safety
By defining new Waze modes of operation, the central computer could get the location of any pedestrian or cyclist connected to the Waze application.
The following safety features could be specially helpful when the weather is misty or rainy:
The central computer could derive that a pedestrian is crossing a wide road and could inform the near by vehicle drivers. As a result the driver will slow down.
When driving on a narrow road, any car driver could be warned that he is approaching of a walking pedestrian or of a bicycle rider…
