S-Turn penalties
In case of traffic even light, some ways become impossible to cross, mainly ave. with more than 3 or 4 lanes.
Proposal to include a S-Turn routing penalties in case of traffic in the crossing street.
This will avoid routing in ways with less than 200m (safe length for lane change is S-Turn even with traffic).

Airplane icon and Air Traffic Control voice
There should be an option to have a commercial airplane as your vehicle icon while driving. I also think it would be cool to have a voice that sounds like Air Traffic Control and alert sounds similar to what you would hear in an airplane.

Access to view live traffic cameras where available publicly on the internet like around Pittsburgh, PA..
In many cities there are traffic cameras posted on major routes. These are available over the internet and mobile phones so drivers can see live feeds. It would be great if Waze showed those along routes or on the maps so drivers can quickly view current conditions.
We should also be able to add these to the maps through the editor and link to the published URLs of the cameras.

Option to report Traffic Officers as well as Police In the U.K.
In the U.K. we have police and traffic officers and the traffic officers can’t prosecute or pull over car drivers but everyone reports them on Waze as police and it’s really annoying. Can we get an option in the U.K. to report traffic officers as well as police?

Waze can report a major traffic-jam even if the application is turned off
Remember when you drove your regular route to work and suddenly you encountered an unexpected traffic-jam? Then you imagined to yourself what would have happen if the WAZE was turned on.
If the application can report traffic-jams on your regular recorded routes even if the application is turned off, the situation can be avoided.

Share route color band needs to be in different color with traffic color band.
The current share route color is green which is the same as none congested traffic color band. The same color bands created confusion to the user. I really can’t understand why this kind of mistake not being picked up by the UI designer. Please fix it asap!

Regarding alternate traffic on one side
I would like to see a mark added indicating that construction work is being carried out at a specified time on roads with alternate traffic on one side.Currently, this can only be displayed from the app.The city's road management staff should inform drivers that there is a time, date, and repetition setting from a PC. You are diverting traffic past my front yard!!!!
I live in a rural area and it has become unsafe to live here. On a daily basis thousands of cars are passing my front yard to avoid traffic from the freeway. These angry dangerous commuters are passing on the double yellow, running stop signs, and terrorizing our small community.
This is not acceptable, you have destroyed my quality of life. Please help! I tried to contact you but you have diverted MY TRAFFIC to this forum!!! Furious!

Avoid difficult junctions option
It would be nice to have the option of avoiding junctions that involve you crossing several lanes of traffic that ain't traffic light controlled.

Show traffic for FastTrak holders in Bay Area
Hi, can you show traffic in the Bay Area for those of us using FastTrak? Adding a simple button to acknowledge that we have a FT in our cars means you can let us know if the lanes are open (or not) for FT users and that can make our commute a bit easier.

Route optimization for manual transmission vehicles (minimize stop-n-go routing)
Allow a user setting for vehicle transmission type. Selecting a "manual transmission" setting would alter the routing engine logic to choose an equal duration or marginally slower route with less stop-n-go traffic (therefore less shifting and holding a manual clutch). Based on traffic speeds and stop signs/lights, routes could be optimized to minimize coming to a complete stop repeatedly.

To have a approximated distance for traffic
i was just thinking it would be nice to either have an audible voice or something pop up with an approximate distance when your in traffic. Cause I know when I come up on it the 1st thing I'm doing is thumbing up the screen to see how far.

2 votesThank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze offers HOV routing for taxis. To change your vehicle type go to Settings > Vehicle type. There are currently no plans to add more HOV options.

SPLIT: notify drivers of heavy traffic ahead of time and offer alternative routes
Another suggestion would be when the app sees there is heavy traffic well before and notifies the driver of different routes available due to the accident or whatever may be holding up traffic.

Enable suggestions for change in traffic organization
Via the Waze app, I can now report traffic-jams, crashes, police patrol, etc. Adding a new category "suggestion for a change in traffic organization" adressed to local municipality might be a benefit. I could suggest changes as "there should be a full line in the middle of this section to avoid collisions" or "that street should be one way" or "build a round-about in here" or "U turns should be allowed here". The suggestions could be routed (e-mail, API, third party websites) to the local representatives. Suggestions might be rated. The best rated would stay displayed. Waze app is…

More control for emergency workers and traffic management
I'm a press photographer in the Netherlands and I see a lot of incidents for my work. By adding some tools, workers on the road can easily report problems and even instructions. For an example: When an accident happens there is sometimes a lot of debris on the road, even though some lanes are still open it's possible that there is debris on those lanes. By adding information, drivers can better adapt to the situations.
