2. Speed indicator

   When the phone is in landscape mode, the speed indicator can be sometimes hidden by the lanes indicator when it pops up.
   Is it possible to put the speed indicator on the foreground or move it when it is hidden under another object?

3. Car stopped ON road ie: transport unloading new cars

   In Ontario we have frequent stopped vehicles in the centre turning lanes of roadways. They stop to unload new vehicles for car dealerships. Would like an option to report car/vehicle stopped ON the roadway, separate from the “car on shoulder” option

4. Sharing Tips

   Sharing tips about an specific area, that would pop up as you drive. Remarks written by drivers for specify roads or areas, such as "people crossing out of crossing lanes", "wet when slippery", "skate boarders often on the road"....just random tips that the drivers could write according to their opinion. It could be turned off by the driver once he/she has read it and it would never show up again. Tips that locals know and can improve driving safety and it's hard to create specific topics. Just custom made tips.

5. Color code car icon by distance

   When Waze zooms in & out, the car icon stays the same size. Why not color code the car icon, green for when you are far away, yellow when you are close & need to change lanes for a turn/exit, red when you are within a quarter mile.

6. Improved Screen Layout on Larger Screens

   Dear Waze,

   First, let me complement you on a great product. I use it almost daily.
   More importantly, you got a more meaningful compliment from Google on your great job.

   As a user of your product, please allow me some user feedback which I would hope you may implement in your product.

   Until now, I used Waze on different mobile phones.
   Recently I purchased a new car with a 7'' screen.
   After having used it, please allow me some customer feedback and suggestions for implementation relating to the way you display information on larger screens.

   Seems to me that you do not make and use of the heavy increased real estate (size of screen) you have at your disposal in most in-car display systems with 7-9'' screens.
   At the top of the screen is a black bar which is utilized by the car manufacturer for different displays such as WiFi icons etc. and the time.
   This space is not available for Waze. No worries.

   However, the remaining space is not well used at all.
   Below the black car bar not utilizable by Waze you put another black bar with your direction arrow (<-), distance (120m) and road name (461 מערב).
   But most of the black bar is unused and just wastes the heights of your map display.
   But worse than that, the size of your icons is exactly the same small size as on much smaller mobile phone displays, thus making it difficult to read the information at a glimpse (while driving).

   I therefore suggest a different organization of the screen as shown in Figure 2.
   The main screen should be divided approximately 1/3, 2/3.
   The right part with the 2/3 display should be with your Moving Map and the centered arrow showing the present location.
   Please note that in the present layout, the map display is wider. However since anyway the present location is always centered on the display, there is no benefit in the a little wider map display.
   The left part with the 1/3 display should be the re-arranged Info Window.
   The bottom bar with the Time to arrival (32min), EAT – Estimated Arrival Time (18:04), Distance to destination (14km) should remain as is.

   The Info Window should include (from top to bottom, left to right):
   Significantly increased size indicator of upcoming turn (Left/Right Arrow) etc.
   Significantly increased size Street Name and Street Number.
   Indicator of upcoming turn (to allow selection of appropriate lane after the immediately upcoming turn). [NEW]
   Soft button () to select the Overview on the Map, displaying the complete trip from start to destination with present location (˄). [NEW]
   Speed indicator (as in your regular display).

   Following (Figure 4) please find a very rough sketch of the suggested Display (based on your actual screen).

7. More voice warning before freeway exits, regardless of speed

   I noticed that the location of the voice instruction you hear before a freeway exit varies based on how fast you're going.
   Around 100 km/h, you get the voice instruction 1.5 kilometres before your exit.
   Around 80 km/h, you get the voice warning about 1 km before the exit.
   Around 60 km/h, you get the warning just 300 metres before the exit.

   It's the last one that I think is a problem. Some drivers rely mostly on the voice instructions either because we don't have a phone stand or because of restrictive laws regarding phone use while driving. And if you're on a freeway that has, say, 5 or more lanes, then regardless of what speed you're going at, 300 metres of warning before the exit simply isn't enough. The driver might suddenly have to dart across 5 or more lanes in 300 metres just to make their exit, and that's far too dangerous.

   Even at lower speeds, especially for roads with many lanes, such as freeways, Waze voice instructions should give greater warning before the next turn or exit - e.g. 1 or 1.5 km in advance, like we already get at higher speeds.

   However it would be great if there was a setting for avoiding minor roads or entering the size of vehicle. We occasionally tow a 7.5m caravan and last week when Waze re directed us due to heavy traffic we found ourselves in very narrow lanes with the caravan in tow - very stressful. A warning stating route unsuitable for large vehicles might even suffice?

9. Navigate toll roads even when pass not entered in settings.

   I live near the Georgia, USA, I-75 Northwest Corridor Express Lanes. When a user enters the Express Lanes without a corresponding pass in settings, Waze acts like the road doesn't exist and keeps offering turns as if they were on the main highway, going the opposite direction, on nearby surface streets, etc. After entry there are very few ways to exit the Express Lanes, and it's unhelpful to have suggestions to turn around or to exit from the main highway when you're in the Express Lanes. Perhaps Waze could recognize that the user is on the road, stop freaking out about the lack of a pass, and just let the user deal with the consequences if they don't have a pass. It's the same when they change the schedule and a user drives northbound but Waze thinks the road is heading southbound at that time. Waze keeps saying "I know that road is oriented southbound right now, so you must be driving in reverse by heading northbound at 75mph. I'll tell you to take backwards exits and get you off this road ASAP!" It would be great if there were some mechanism to make the routing server realize that despite any programmed restrictions, a vehicle is actually traveling on that highway and should start receiving proper routing instructions.

   As an example, the Tesla routing will not ever suggest using the express lanes as far as I can tell, no matter what options are selected. Once I'm on the Express Lanes, however, Tesla realizes I'm on a recognized road and will route me to my destination using valid exits until it can get me back on a road it is able to use. Now it will try to get me to exit early to get on the regular highway, but once I ignore that instruction it goes back to navigating the Express Lanes. Waze on the other hand acts like there's no road at all if I don't have a pass entered or if the road is operating out of cycle from the programmed schedule. Its instructions in that case are completely unusable until back on a regular segment. I hope this makes sense but can provide more explanation if needed.

10. A feature that allows drivers to get help quickly if they break down in a tunnel with Waze beacons installed

    When you enter a tunnel, and the Waze app senses this, it will put another icon on the screen, such as a red triangle with an exclamation mark, the same as your vehicles hazard light button.

    If you get into trouble, you tap this button, and it brings up a screen that gives the tunnel operator's name and phone number (button), along with the direction of travel and exact location, e.g., nearest road marker on the wall. This information would be critical for quickly getting CCTV vision, lane closure lights, and dispatch of tow trucks.

    It could also tell you to put your hazard lights on, call the operator, and the specific tunnel safety information supplied by the operator.

    The icon could appear or get more prominent (larger) and beep (voice) when your vehicle comes to a standstill in the tunnel to stand out to the driver, who might be starting to panic.

    If no Waze beacons are installed in the tunnel, pressing the button will give the Operator's name, number, and direction of travel from the last GPS signal.

    Additional Feature

    If you need to evacuate during an emergency, press an evacuate button. If the operator has inputted this information into the app, it could guide you to the nearest emergency door or fire extinguisher. Waze beacons could also be placed in emergency stairwells and other locations to provide more information.

11. Streamline CarPlay display

    I totally appreciate turning off the ability to add comments to traffic reports while on CarPlay. But if they're not going to expand so I can read something someone's already commented, can those green bubbles stay off the map?

    For accidents and road work, it would be nice to be able to see which lanes are closed (if any) to avoid merging at the last minute.

13. Safety

    Using Waze I drove from Long Branch NJ to Merrick NY. I was directed from NJ Rt. 36 onto the express lanes of the Garden State Parkway north to exit at exit 125. The express lanes end 1/4 mile from exit 125 on the right, requiring that I cut across 3 lanes of moving traffic at a high speed in a very short distance in order to get to the exit. The directions should be changed to instruct the driver to use the local lanes of the Garden State Parkway northbound so that the vehicle is in a much safer position to exit at 125.

14. LitterGram Car Mode

    LitterGram is a popular app in the UK and is quickly becoming the new way for 40m smartphone users to report litter to councils so they can clean it up. We are about to trial LitterGram car mode which will allow drivers to hit a button on their steering wheel whilst driving and map the littered roads/highways/lanes. Britain is the 3rd most littered nation globally and has a serious problem. This new feature will help clean up our highways and make driving in our country a better experience for the motorist. It would be great to see if you could show a LitterGram score or rating on your map by somehow integrating our app / litter map. 16. We need the road blocked button back. There is no way of signalling that a road is blocked and no way through.

    There used to be a road blocked button. Now only lanes blocked. I have numerous examples of Waze showing a route through a blocked road. Alerts on road works or lanes blocked but still we a guided through where a road is blocked.

17. advanced alerts

    Several states have DMV digital alert signs - it would be great to be able to add those warnings to Waze. Example the DMV sign alerts 'accident on 85 South 5 miles ahead all lanes closed' - If a Wazer could input that info by means other than map chats people usually don't read, or at the wrong mile marker it'd be extremely valuable for people traveling in large cities.
    I'd pay money to know that in advance!

20. Show traffic for FastTrak holders in Bay Area

    Hi, can you show traffic in the Bay Area for those of us using FastTrak? Adding a simple button to acknowledge that we have a FT in our cars means you can let us know if the lanes are open (or not) for FT users and that can make our commute a bit easier.
