1. Changing Destination on Phone While Connected to Android Auto

   I want to change my destination on my phone while it's connected to my car through Android Auto, but I can’t type directly on the car screen. Currently, I have to unplug the cable to change the destination on my phone, and then plug it back in to reconnect to the car.

2. Vehicle selection box

   It takes a lot until the vehicle selection button became available for the user once you launch the app. In my case, I decide daily when to use my motorcycle or car and it's annoying to wait the pop ups notification to disappear until the vehicle selection button is ready

3. Tunnel Navigation bluetooth OBDII

   Typically GPS signal is lost in long tunnels. Why not include a waze connection to a bluetooth enabled OBDII device in your car to give accurate speed. The direction is immaterial as the tunnel path is well known.The devices are cheap about $5 to $20 on ebay. Waze would benefit by knowing speed through tunnels. Yes, beacons are good, but not if they are sparsely placed.

5. speedometer

   Speedometer can be pinned to my phones entire display (during carplay). That way it’s easier to read at a glance. Perhaps what displays on your phone screen when connected to carplay could be fully customisable?

6. 3 differents driver profil

   Today, the user profile is not taking into account by the algorithm. I hope in the future Waze will propose, not only the fatest road, but the road adapted to the user.
   We will use for example 3 different profiles :
   - the busy driver : this will always proposes the fastest road but it will add more weights to highway where overtaking car is possible
   - the thrifty driver : always proposing the road with the cheapest path (combination of distance, height difference, ...)
   - the tourist driver: this will propose road with points of interest (monuments, landscape).

   I imagine two ways of integrate those profiles : 1) creating the account; 2) with a specific icon at each search

7. Preimptive Traffic Notification - Please read it is not just what it seems by headline.

   Preemptive traffic notifications! Sounds Alarm, chirp, chime, text w.e. the user selects when normal route would be jammed BEFORE leaving their home/spot. You have the info and capability to recognize patterns in people’s lives. If they leave at 7:30 to get on a bus, subway, truckers cranking up, no matter who it is, Waze could see that their normal route is delayed 2 hours and let them know BEFORE they have left. Think of the possibilists. People with flexible schedules, Truckers, Subway goers… Repeating but flexible route drivers (delivery etc.)… lots of people benefit so much! Even me, because I do not prefer leaving then finding out traffic is bad. IT COULD ALSO let the person know if they have already left, which is important because some people literally get in their car and start Waze just to see if traffic is bad! Let them not have to spend those moments doing that (stress free :) ) . . . If you already do...sorry. Ignore this :( I just thought of it sitting here and typed it in.

8. A few user stories for supporting BEV / electromobility in Waze

   Dear Wazers,

   I have been using your product far before "the Google times." When I first downloaded Waze, the road to my home was not "Wazed-paved" yet, so I had to pave it myself :). Anyway, that's not what I'm writing you about. I want to extend a request to you through a few user stories, which would significantly enhance my electromobility driving experience. I hope you're already thinking in that direction, and we'll see enhancements for BEV (battery-electric vehicles) soon.

   There're plenty of elecromobile-specific apps, but Waze is my current choice for a guidance app. As such, I am suffering because I need to switch back/forth from Waze to another app when it comes time to plan a long drive.

   If you would like to enhance our experience with Waze easily, you could partner with the two most powerful solutions, PlugShare and abetterrouteplanner.com (of course, if they agree). But I think you're big enough to believe in enhancing your app by yourself and giving us the functionality to fulfill our e-mobility needs.

   I took the liberty to draft a few user stories, which I can find very useful. Although all of them will give excellent functionality to Waze, the first one is the most important, which would position Waze as the first massively used navigation software which incorporates proper functionality for e-mobility. I hope you have plans to win this market even better.

   In any case, here're the stories. Each story has a justification/overview to it.

   As a user, I need to see charging stations on the map so that I can plan my travel accordingly

   This one is the "mother of all e-mobility" stories. Of course, it's so big that it's easily epic, but shortly said, we, the users, need a way to see the charging stations on the map.

   The distinguished properties of each charger on the map should be like those below:

     name: "Awesome charger" # The name of the charging station, user free-form
     owner: "EVPoint" # the charging station owner
     description: "Please use our apps, available at our home page https://evpoint.bg/, to activate the charger."
     max-power: 150 # the maximum power, in kW, of the whole station. Sometimes people use only this parameter to judge the power delivery speed, but often it's necessary to have granulation per socket.
     connectors: # Lists all charging connectors available at the station. This is a good reference for it: https://evcharging.enelx.com/resources/blog/552-ev-charging-connector-types
       - CCS2: # CCS2 charging connectors at the station
           - count: 2 # two CCS2 charging connectors
           - max-power: 75 # 75 kW max power each
       - CHADEMO: # Chademo connectors at the station
           - count: 1 # one Chademo connector
           - max-power: 50 # 50 kW max power 
   

   The description might seem optional, but without it we will need a place to know the URL from which we will access the charging app. Usually, most of the manufacturers have their specific apps. So any particular data on how to access the station services is put in this field.

   A very important part of this functionality is the filters. When a BEV travels a long distance, we usually use the fact DC-chargers. These give us a charge for approx 100-150 miles (150-250 km) in 10-20 minutes. Most of these chargers are located near (or directly as part of) existing gas stations.

   As part of an MVP, I would accept the first four fields, with the ability to filter by max-power. However, an "MVP-2" stage with the connectors property, and the ability to filter by their type, will be a must since not all cars support all connectors. For example, a TESLA might have its own connector only, and my car has only CCS2 for DC charging.

   As a user, I would like to enter my BEV range so that Waze helps me plan longer rides

   This is a must if I could use Waze as my assistant for BEV travels. My vehicle has a range (let's simplify this for now - just a number of km or miles in my account).

   Based on this range, Waze could show me in a friendly way, directly over my travel map, where my coverage ends. Then I can zoom in, choose a suitable charging station, and plan my ride accordingly (see below). For this, Waze has to have support for more than one Stops (I think right now you allow only one stop, but even this would do, for an MVP, it's more than OK).

   As a user, I need better support for community-driven charging station data and status

   The community feedback is critical since the map is not yet saturated with chargers. Thus, having the ability to rate/comment on each charging station is a functionality that I use very often. When I plan my trip, I usually avoid chargers, where the community says "broken." And when a charger comes back online, the community is very fast to indicate this.

   The best way to leave feedback is to indicate if any user had a successful charging session. A simple Yes/No would do. The system can then calculate an overall rating per charger and display it in a Rating section. The written feedback from each user can also be displayed there (if there's such a given with the "Charge-successful/unsuccessful" rate).

9. Apple CarPlay Update needed

   I love that we finally have Apply CarPlay integration! The update does need some additional work in my opinion. The roads/street names/ icons all appear blurry on the CarPlay display. All of the notifications that pop up are clear/crisp. It just looks like the map isn't fully loaded and isnt giving a clear picture like the map on the phone does. Also - the icon (arrow or car) is massive compared to the rest of the map. It doesnt get smaller/bigger when zooming in or out. I think the icon should change size based on the size of the map and the map needs improved to be clear.

10. More Space Between “Thanks” & “Not There”

    As I pass an alert, CarPlay screen asks me to choose either “Thanks” or “Not There.” The buttons are spaced so close together, sometimes I’m not sure if I accidentally pushed the wrong button. It would be helpful to space the buttons out. If they are further apart, it will be easier to hit the correct one, especially in a moving car.

11. Fade music on alerts/notifications/Turn-by-Turn

    It would be really nice if Waze faded music during audio events (not pause.. pause is a little bit jerky and makes you lose the music beat)
    I use my phone (Android) as a Media Center on my car, it controls the audio and video on it. I play music using it (outstanding equalizer settings and audio effects), and the fade function is really necessary so I don't keep distracting looking for corners on GPS.
    Also, on my own opinion, fading looks real classy and professional.

    Original Google Maps' software does that fading, but I don't want to go back using it. Waze is amazing!

12. mute sounds

    A sound option to mute sounds for reporting road conditions. It keeps making sounds that mute my music if i report a car on the shoulder etc

13. Carplay speed limit

    Hello, in the UK version of Waze on Apple Car Play, the speed limit is hidden by the direction box. Can you please put the speed limit on the top left of the screen and not on the right (as there is the direction box already).

    Thank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze already displays a speedometer, including both your driving speed and the speed limit for the road you’re currently on.

14. Android auto - car head unit layout

    I think the app layout when on the car head unit display should be split. (It has already been suggested in a post about low resolutions)
    - A split display could make it a lot clearer, since with the current floating turn directions/menu, the map is partially hidden when your route takes you left (since the car icon doesn't have enough horizontal offset)
    - A delimited box for the map could enhance its visibility.
    - The instructions pane could take the whole height of the display and thus use larger fonts/icons or provide better overall readability

16. Add Buttons

    Its difficult to give reports when one is driving at 120 km/hr. Users must be able to add buttons, similar to speed reading on the screen, where once can report by touch of a button. One should also have option to drag and place these buttons anywhere on the screen

    I would add following to my screen when driving.
    - Report Car on Shoulder
    - Report Pothole
    - Heavy traffic
    - police (visible / Invisible.

    Long tap on Report button brings up 3 the most common report types.

17. Enhance the "Prevent Auto-Lock" setting

    Enhance the "Prevent Auto-Lock" setting, so that you can have one setting for when it is plugged in and charging and another setting when not charging.

    This will allow for the option to let the phone to go into standby, if the phone is left on after turning the car off.

18. Allow users to choose to display routes on their Phone instead forcing on the Android Auto

    Allow users to choose whether to use their phone as Waze for routes or Android Auto as the main display, instead of forcing it to display on Android Auto. Some people want to stream music using Android Auto and use their phones to see directions, as it doesn't distract them from the road. Some head units in cars are positioned lower from the direction of the road and are more of a hassle to look at while driving.

19. Saving Lives Warning People in Brazil

    Hello Waze and Everyone! For the third time I heard a really sad story here in Brazil. First let me tell you: waze made a revolucion in how me and everyone moves around here. But the thing is that in Brazil we have a thing called favelas. Favelas are wood "homes" made by poor people because they dont have anywhere else to live. Favelas are very dangerou places, and once you get in you'll probably end up dead, just like how happened this weekend in Rio because a 70 year old couple end up going there via waze. They typed the wrong street number, and as soon as they got there, their car was full of gun shots. The wife died and the husband (who was driving) managed to get to the hospital. Last month the same happened to a couple and a guy, the couple is alive but the other guy died as well. My suggestion is to make a warning at the app whenever people are entering in a dangerous places like those favelas. This is really important!!!

20. Your instructions to the entrance of Pano lefkara is completely wrong. I rrside in this vilage myself. I see zcars turning right, accoding

    The instructions to the entrance to Pano Lefkara is completely wrong and dangerous. It should me at the next turning to thecright outside Stella's cafe.
    I live in this village and I see many z cars that turn before, into Stylianou Lena street which is dangerous and narrow.
