Mark overtaking lanes on back roads / B road highways
On minor highways (in Australia at least) they are often one lane in either direction, with the occasional overtaking lane being two lanes in one direction, one in the other.
These can be 10km+ apart and aren’t signposted until they are close.
It would be nice to colour indicate these lanes on the map so the driver/passenger can see if it is worth waiting to overtake a vehicle in the single lane road or wait until the safer overtaking lane15 votesThanks for your feedback. Avoid a specific road
I've seen a number of posts regarding this, and myself have wanted this on various occasions for a number of different reasons. The alternatives (avoid highway, avoid toll, avoid dirt) are useful in many cases, but there are also many cases where they simply don't serve the actual need.
For example, this reddit post (https://www.reddit.com/r/waze/comments/6vfd6m/can_i_stop_waze_from_rerouting_or_select_a/) is from a user that wants to specifically avoid the Capital Beltway (I-495). Not because it's a highway, and not because of a perceived inability for Waze to determine traffic, but just as a personal preference. As another example, sometimes when…

Additional highlights for current lanes
A excellent feature that would help navigation in close intersaction areas would be additionally highlighting preferred lanes for next intersection. For example having 2 close intersections 1. shows use first 3 lanes for this intersenction 2nd shows to use the 1st or the last lane to continue. While the current feature of overall showing what lanes are plausible for this intersection is great, it has led me to fast maneuvering or slowing down to change lanes in unknown areas with close intersections, would be awesome if while driving before the 1st intersection as now it shows what lane to take…

Do not reset "avoid toll roads" when updating to a new version.
When downloading a new version update, Waze automatically resets to "avoid toll roads". The last time it happened I ended up rushing to a concert and Waze directed me through the pampas instead of the highway which would have been most logical, as I always have the highway use switched on - we have annual coupons for toll road use. Understandably, I was really furious. So - an update should take into consideration the current settings of each user, just like it recently improved regarding language settings. Having to remember all personal settings and re-setting them after each update…

Indicate open lanes at a crash
When ppl indicate a crash let them indicate which lanes are kept open, it will let drivers safely move to the correct lane farther back, alleviating lanes changes close to the crash (in thicker traffic). It will also give more incentive for ppl to use Waze.

CarPlay Toll/Freeway Toggle
I find many times where I'd like to assess the difference between Toll vs Non-Toll or Freeway vs Non-Freeway routes, but there is no easy and safe way to do this while connected to Carplay. Offering a simple accessible toggle for these functions would be extremely valuable!

Change "Avoid Highways" to "Avoid Freeways"
The current "Avoid Highways" preference in the client is essentially useless because it includes even "Minor Highways" which is poorly defined. The category includes even very small country roads that happen to be designated State highways - hardly in the same category as freeways and therefore not useful as a routing distinction.
On the other hand, "Avoid Highways" is a very useful option for users who would like to use the Waze route optimization features, but without the stress and other factors that come with Freeway driving.

Navigate toll roads even when pass not entered in settings.
I live near the Georgia, USA, I-75 Northwest Corridor Express Lanes. When a user enters the Express Lanes without a corresponding pass in settings, Waze acts like the road doesn't exist and keeps offering turns as if they were on the main highway, going the opposite direction, on nearby surface streets, etc. After entry there are very few ways to exit the Express Lanes, and it's unhelpful to have suggestions to turn around or to exit from the main highway when you're in the Express Lanes. Perhaps Waze could recognize that the user is on the road,…

Add "No lanes closed" response to "Waze Asks" card for roadworks alerts
A recent unannounced change has added a "What do you see?" card when approaching a roadworks alert. The only response options are to report lane closures or to indicate that the roadworks are no longer there. There is no intuitive option to dismiss the question or respond that construction is still taking place but no lanes are closed.
The majority of roadworks take place without any lane closures, yet the app assumes that closures will occur.
Without an intuitive way to respond differently to a lane closure, many users seem to be selecting one of the closure options to dismiss…45 votes -
