1. Is exit-cutting intentional?

   Last night Waze recommended that I exit the I-66 freeway in northern VA and re-enter on the other side of the interchange - essentially using the exit/entry ramp as a shortcut to cut in front of other drivers who remained on the main highway. This sort of selfish behavior by drivers makes overall traffic worse - is this really an an intentional feature? If so, would you consider changing it?

2. Vehicule type shorcutcut

   Hi!
   I often switch between motorbike and private car.
   The ETA is different because of traffic jam.
   It could be easier and faster if we could make an ios shortcut wich could switch it.
   Then with an automation like when you plug any carplay device, switch to private car. and when you unplug it, switch again to motorbike.

   ChatGPT told me to do it opening url with devicetype but its doesnt work.

3. This is an assisted process

   Waze just did something beautiful today. He/She/It asked me "Are we going to XXX place?" I've been waiting for that kind of event. Technology should be doing much more work than we are actually experiencing. Waze should not be just a navigator but a road assistant. A rolling Siri. Not just an interface but a behavior. Not an app but a mate.

   In that line of thinking, Waze could be more playful. Not just telling you where to go, but adding value because Waze knows you. For example, If Waze is responsible enough for remembering not to leave your child in the car, why He/She/It did not say a word about it before leaving the last location? Maybe the reminder could include other subjects. Indeed, I have no kids. Waze still does not know me enough.

   Waze has serious problems! I installed it on my smartphone Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and initially worked during the first 3 or 4 Kms (experience to go home). Then, as further away (25 home Kms), failed to show the map and the navigation route. And the voice disappeared. Left to navigate!
   I got home and the phone connected to the wireless network, clicked on Waze shortcut. And the smartphone blocked!
   Uninstalled and left a very negative comment on Google Play.

5. I have several ideas

   First I have been through 2 permanent speed cameras Waze did not warn me about. Although it might say turn in 300 metres, I have no conception of distance and if a few streets are close I don’t know which one and It needs to tell you to turn here about 2 secs earlier then it does I miss streets and need to be in other lanes to turn esp. in the city where there are lots of one way streets and turn only lanes. I’m on iPhone and I hate that it turns off Siri google DOES NOT work on iPhone. It needs to let Apple use Siri. It tells me I’m at the location houses away. It needs to tell you which side of the road it’s on and the number..”you have arrived at 6 bob st, you’re destination is on the left.” Or something when you get there.. I like that it reminds me a few times where I’m going and unlike G maps knows what my turnoff is called.its also louder so I can actually hear it, but I’m not sure it takes traffic into account and reroute around the worst of it.. it will put me in standstill traffic on s highway instead of taking back streets. I can’t plot several locations and decide myself what order to take I have to plot my route in the other app and put it in one by one but the only way I can use this app is if I also run the other app behind it so I have them both talking... to be honest both together are almost perfect but separately they both have issues... you need to be able to report permanent cameras and police etc via voice which may be possible on a google friendly phone, I’m not sure because I will get fined for touching my phone to report things... I don’t like that others can see my speed if I use that part of the app so I can watch my speed. Can authorities access that info ever??? Because I do speed sometimes and I don’t want others seeing or recording my speed...

6. iOS App: fewer taps to report incidents?

   Feature request: Please allow custom shortcuts for reporting common items like "Car on Shoulder" or "Police" or "Crash".  Maybe users can select which ones to have directly on the map display screen.

   Right now, it takes 4 taps on the screen to report "Car on shoulder".
   Hazard (the yellow triangle)

   That is too many.  I would put an icon for this this directly on the map screen.  This is the most common interaction I have with Waze while driving.

7. School/Teamk/event emoticons. Lost on way to game? See the similarly clad Wazers in team gear!

   Say you're traveling down Interstate 75 headed for Floida A&M University in Tallahassee, but you get lost near a well-known shortcut in Tifton, Georgia. Never fear! Your Waze app shows nearby drivers clad in FAMU gear, and they are all headed in the same direction! Follow them, sort of how you might notice groups of FAMU license plates headed in the same direction. But Waze allows you to look for your fellow FAMUans further down the road! This concept could also work for events/conference, etc. Thanks for considering this idea!

   Hallo liebes Waze Team,

   ich habe einige Fehler in der App entdeckt und habe ein paar Tipps und Vorschläge für euch.

   Fehler: Unter „Stimme und Ton“ -> „Sprich zum Melden“ lässt sich der Button nicht aktivieren. Er schaltet sich immer wieder auf OFF. Außerdem gibt es bei Apple CarPlay ein Problem: Wenn sich die Route ändert, verlängert oder verkürzt, erscheint unten links eine Anmerkung, die mit $$ beginnt. Ich vermute, dass es sich dabei um einen Bug handelt.

   Vorschläge: Es wäre super, wenn man in der App die Ampel sehen könnte. Das würde das Fahren deutlich sicherer machen, besonders in Großstädten.

   Zusätzlich wäre es hilfreich, wenn man bei Navigationsanweisungen statt Sätzen nur Geräusche hört, wie bei einer Benachrichtigung. Das würde einen dazu bringen, aufs Display zu schauen. Ein Wassertropfen-Geräusch wäre zum Beispiel eine gute Idee. Ich brauche keine Stimme, ich möchte nur geweckt werden, damit ich zu meinem Display schaue.

   Am wichtigsten wäre es jedoch, wenn man über Siri direkt Blitzer melden könnte. Leider hängt die Funktion „Unter Stimme und Ton“ -> „Sprich zum Melden“.

   Das Mikrofon Button bei Carplay, um die Orte zu nennen, reagiert ZU SCHNELL! Und der sound hört sich billig an und die animation sieht verpixelt aus.

   Ich würde mich freuen, wenn ihr mir eine Rückmeldung geben könntet, dass ihr die E-Mail gelesen habt.

9. Waze Public Restroom Locator

   PROBLEM:

   Several times a day, all humans share the common need to use the restroom. Some of us need to go more frequently than others for various reasons, but when nature calls, it’s a universal truth that we have to answer.

   In contrast to Waze's capabilities in providing traffic updates, routes, parking and directions, there is currently no shortcut feature for locating public restrooms. This gap underscores the challenge of finding nearby public restrooms, particularly in unfamiliar areas. Even if you manage to find one, it may be closed for maintenance during certain hours or lack essential amenities like accessibility or a changing station. Moreover, you might discover that the restroom is unclean or unsafe, leading you to regret not choosing a different direction where a restroom offering a more pleasant experience could have been just two minutes the other way.

   SOLUTION:

   Bathroom needs can rise unexpectedly at anytime, making it essential to find the nearest restroom quickly. Imagine if Waze could utilize your location to pinpoint nearby public restrooms. Users could then rate these facilities based on cleanliness, capacity, safety and available amenities. Details such as whether the restroom is currently open and its operating hours would also be provided, ensuring that users have crucial information when they need it most. This feature would greatly enhance convenience and help users find suitable restrooms efficiently.

10. last version 4.13.0.4 is shit , not updating the traffic live , wrong proposed itineraries

    the last revisions are not working any more

    traffic update delayed => wrong / inaccurate proposed routes or deviations

    strange routes proposed ( improbable routes , longer and not saving time ) , but shortcuts not proposed anymore => inefficient

    again today , I saved 23 minutes versus the estimation from waze on a route proposed as a 3rd solution ... as traffic not update live anymore !!!

11. TOWNS should be able to submit DO NOT USE THIS ROAD on certain roads

    Towns should have a way of reporting problems with rerouting. In the case of many small towns intersecting two major highways, not all roads are appropriate for heavy traffic.

    Towns should have a way to “prevent through traffic” on Waze, since Waze users totally blow off “no thru traffic” signs!

    For example, small towns still using one lane bridges need to be able to prevent over use and over-weight; afternoon traffic blocking residential roads just because someone is trying to bypass an on-ramp; especially tricks using small town roads not equipped for big trucks and curbs, lawns, and lights all being ruined because drivers are attempting shortcuts.

    I understand it can’t be a universal feature as then everyone will be using it in a “stay off my lawn!” function, but when towns are suffering traffic damage because an app is rerouting highway traffic through small roads, residential areas; when towns can prove this damage; when accident statistics climb so dramatically as to be frightening; when emergency vehicles cannot pass through routes because angry highway drivers are not obeying signs and laws; there should be a resource for the towns to reach out to these big GPS apps to block off certain routes.

12. Half-screen display on Android Auto

    Is itbpossible to optimise the half-screen display on Android Auto to show the key direction information? At the moment the road names trail off if they're too long while there are things like the exit numbers that are in green aesthetic boxes taking up a lot of unnecessary space.

    Would be nice to also have the pop-up notification shortcuts to "Home" or "Work" or a chosed Saved Place like Google Maps so I can start on my journey more effectively.

13. favorites system & usability

    The favorites system in this app feels extremely limited and unintuitive, making saving and using favorites unnecessarily difficult.

    Instead of a proper favorites list, the app relies on a single horizontal bar that requires swiping left and right. This design does not scale: once more than a few locations are saved, finding anything becomes a guessing game.

    Fixed locations (Home and Work)

    Several locations such as Home and Work are fixed and cannot be customized:
    - Names cannot be renamed
    - Icons are oversized
    - Labels are too long and take up excessive space
    - Entries cannot be deleted or reordered

    This is especially problematic for students who do not have a fixed Work location. I know where my university is and do not need a permanent work shortcut, yet I am forced to keep it. At the same time, I cannot add the locations I actually need in a clean, usable way.

    Real-world use cases

    • I have two homes that I regularly navigate to
    • I need quick access to family addresses
    • My university has multiple buildings in different cities

    With the current system, saving 15–20 addresses makes the favorites bar completely unusable. There is no overview, no structure, and no meaningful way to organize anything.

    Expected improvements

    • A real favorites list, not just a swipeable bar
    • A customizable top bar with only the most important favorites
    • Full control to rename, reorder, or remove all favorites (including Home and Work)
    • Optional folders (Family, Friends, University, Other)
    • No forced integration with contacts or calendar

    Other navigation apps handle favorites far better. This app’s approach feels outdated and restrictive. Everything else works well, but the favorites system actively discourages saving locations and makes daily navigation harder than necessary. (an example of an app that has really intuitive ui is "here we go"). I just overall preferred waze, but this is like something that makes it almost unusable to me

14. Many issues in the new update

    Bus cameras are not showing or just randomly
    Shortcuts or faster routes are gone, only on main roads even if there's traffic
    The button to select alternatives routes is also gone...

15. How is Machine Learning different from AI?

    Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are two of today's most widely used buzzwords in the cutting-edge technological scene. While they're sometimes used interchangeably, they're respective but related areas. AI is the general term that refers to developing systems that can carry out tasks that would otherwise need human intelligence, while machine learning refers to a subset of AI that enables systems to learn from data and get better over time without being specifically programmed. It's important for students, professionals, and organizations to understand the difference between AI and ML because it determines how they can effectively use the power of intelligent systems.

    Artificial Intelligence is the general field that seeks to create machines that are capable of simulating human intelligence. It entails developing systems that are able to execute tasks like reasoning, learning, problem-solving, perception, and even comprehension of language. As the ML model receives more data, it gets better and better, while rule-based AI systems do not evolve unless updated manually.

16. Improve vertical UI on iPhone

    Please fix the vertical user interface on iPhone! It is a complete mess, with large blacked out areas unnecessarily blocking the useful map space, therefore limiting our map vision and app experience, also the shortcuts or pop-ups are difficult to reach/click. Moreover, it doesn’t show a green line when entering part of the road under avg speed radar control. It should be an easy fix, just look at the carplay version, or maybe take ideas from google or apple maps. I am literally switching to other map providers because I have a terrible experience of using waze in vertical mode.

17. add/pin top 3 reports of most frequently used reports

    having to click into three different report types, then groups and subgroups just to let other wazers know there’s a car on the shoulder is distracting and takes more attention away from the road than i’d like it to. it’s actually a bit of a deterrent in some ways. i love using waze and i appreciate the contribution others make to my safety as a driver and i’d like to be able to reciprocate, but that can be really hard for me to do when i have to take my eyes off the road for 10 seconds to submit a report.

    my idea: show the icons for the top 3 most frequently or recently used Reports, so you can just tap the individual icon instead of having to go into Reports > Type > Specific Report. or maybe allow users to assign the 3 Report “shortcuts” they want to show on their map.

    this feature will not only enhance the user experience and geographical accuracy of the Report functionality, but it will also make using Waze much safer, not to mention a LOT more efficient.

    for example, i report a hazard/car on the shoulder pretty much any time i drive some where, with Police reporting in close second and construction in third. so ideally, i’d like to have all three Car on shoulder, Police and Construction icons show on the map, so i can just tap it to quickly make the report.
