1. Either allow users to disable popup notifications, or reduce the amount of screen real-estate used to display it

   Popups for slow-downs in traffic, traffic cameras, etc may be useful, but why not condense the information into a smaller area which doesnt obstruct ones view of the route. Secondly, why do I need to see the same notification repeatedly when I've already acknowledged it for the first time?

2. Ability to report Safety Issues

   Add ability to report things such as missing street sign, blocked street sign (tree over growth, etc.) broken traffic signal, poor lighting at night etc. This should be available to the users as well as have the ability to stream the data to public safety agencies to have the issues resolved.

3. navigation waypoints

   Only mapquest currently features navigation waypoints.

   On a journey from locationA to locationZ one might want to pre-plan gas fill up locations, or additional points of interest. These are waypoints, or places to stop along the way.

   LocationA to locationB to locationC ... to locationZ

   To accomplish this now in Waze is a bit tedious

   locationA to locationB
   locationB to locationC
   locationC to locationZ

   One ought be able to enter all the locations and either specify the order of the waypoints OR allow waze to optimize some- or all of the ordering of waypoints.

   To further facilitate waypoints Waze ought consider a feature to re-reoute the traveler based on (upcoming) slow(er) traffic areas. In an unfamiliar area one is likely not capable of determining which side streets (surface streets) are better flowing traffic.

4. Make icons larger.

   New version icons for haz and police are so small you have to zoom in to a small map grid to see them. When there is a problem wreck slow traffic police ahead you miss you last turnoff due to being zoomed in so close. Please give option to zoom out and still see critical icons

5. Add "Residential Street" as an Additional Road Type

   There tend to be situations in which neighborhoods and suburban communities have systems of roads such that there are a few feeder roads that are intended to serve a network of smaller residential streets. In the current state of the map editor, it can be difficult to map such areas so that traffic is generally directed along the streets with higher speed limits and fewer driveways. Usage of the prioritizing functions and setting certain segments as private roads helps a bit to alleviate this problem. I am suggesting a new idea.
   Create a road type "residential street" for roads that should be generally avoided by through traffic. These roads might, for example, cause a routing penalty, discouraging using long stretches of residential streets or the routing system routing traffic to cut through neighborhoods. It may have a lower preference than a "street", but not carry as much as a penalty as a private road. The classification for residential streets may be optimally used for roads the primary purpose of which is to allow access to single-family residences or other low-density housing.

6. Important ideas

   I’ve been using Waze for several years now and do a lot of miles with it. There are a few things that could be added to make it even better. First, I would love to see Jeremy Clarkson as a Waze voice, that would be hilarious and highly popular. Second, I know that Uber drivers’ satnav can tell them when the traffic lights are about to change. Having this feature on Waze would be great as nothing else would have it. Third, I am also a delivery driver and am forced to use google maps for navigation as Waze does not have very good support for Delmate, an app that puts in the coordinates (longitude and latitude) for each house. Delmate helps drivers find the exact point for each house - this works excellently on google maps but doesn’t load on Waze. I’m unsure whether Waze can take in longitude and latitude coordinates or not but it would be nice. Lastly, the ability to add more than one workplace/home would be appreciated, and also to favorite destinations.

7. Announce verbally route and delay changes

   At the moment if the route changes then Waze makes a chirp sound. I would like it to actually say "Route Change" or perhaps "Route recalculated due to change in traffic conditions" and then "Arrival time is now 7.34 pm". Or "Traffic delay has increased/decreased by 5 minutes". These announcements should be capable of being enabled/disabled in settings to allow for different user preferences. Personally I don't like reading messages on the phone screen while I'm driving - I would rather messages be read out verbally so I don't have to look at the screen as much - safer!

8. To stop WAZE from automatically shutting down

   Could it be possible to keep WAZE active, until the user closes the app down. Ok here is what WAZE has done for years. You activate waze, put in your route and go. You then minimize Waze. Waze happily stays active if you are on the move. BUT become stuck in traffic, Waze will just shutdown. Could Waze be designed to not shutdown the app if minimised, when you are stuck in traffic. It is so annoying. You won't realise Waze is shutdown unless you look at your phone screen and fire Waze back up again, which well then say are you still heading to XXX destination. UK User

9. Calculate ETA based on own average speed

   ETA calculation seems to be based on traffic conditions and general average speed. ETA calculation seems to be inaccurate when driving below the average speed of the road-segment as it keeps increasing while driving with constant (low) speed.

   It would be great if ETA calculation would also be accurate for vehicles going below average speeds (e.g. trucks in europe etc.)

10. Route Tracking Recorder Functionality

    Implement a RTR(Route Tracking Recorder) Functionality.

    Say you have this path you like to do every now and then. Activate the RTR and drive until your destination, once there, deactivate RTR. Done! Waze has recorded that route you just drove and saved it.
    Ok... what now? Well, you can:

    1) Use it once again;

    OR (where it really shines :)

    2) share it to a friend, so that person will know that special route you did to save time from traffic.

    Had this idea after a colleague had to follow me until certain point of my daily route to cut most traffic of her route.

11. Time-based Map Topology

    In Washington, DC specifically, and in other cities around the United States (and probably around the world), certain turns are illegal between 7:00-9:30 am or 4:00-6:30 pm. More challenging, Rock Creek Park - a major commuter route that is often utilized by Waze - allows southbound traffic only between 7:00-9:30 am on mon-fri, and northbound traffic only between 4:00-6:30 pm on mon-fri. Waze is unable to factor in these restrictions, and becomes of limited usability during these times. Its really frustrating for me, and my partner. Please, please, please fix this? I'm afraid one of our phones might go flying out the window.

12. Force Reroute Button

    Many times i can see that the freeway/higway I´m about to enter is slow moving, and waze wants to route me into that sometimes even if there is reported trafficjams/heavy traffic etc on that road. A button on screen or easy accesssible (poosibly instead of the bulldozer) to force an alternative route would really help

    One of the options is to recalculate the route, i.e. force a reroute.

14. Mobile Police Setting

    When following, or being followed by a police car, I would like to enable a feature to show my actual GPS location for the next 10 minutes or until I disable. This will warn other drivers that they are approaching a police car and not zoom by me and get a ticket. There are a lot of unmarked police cars that I wind up following because I see the hidden lights or the government place before I pass them. I would like to help people avoid missing them while in traffic.

Sure the first autos or trucks that cause the accident would not be effective but how about the many vehicles that are about to plow into them. 50 vehicles or more in these pileups is ridiculous with today's technology.

20. I need suport on this as I've tried to get Waze to make this adjustment but they keep saying enough people have to agree

    It seems crazy to me that you can so easily post a vehicle stopped on the side of the road...not effecting traffic at all...yet there is no option to report a vehicle broken down in the middle of Freeway lanes, causing a monumental traffic jam! There is an option for roadkill!!! Like a squashed squirrel is really going to impact your journey...but nothing for a vehicle. I had this problem happen to me. There was an almighty backup and I had no idea why. There was a vague report about "an Object" in the road, but you think of a bucket, perhaps a tire....you don't immediately think of a whole broken down truck! Could you all support me in getting this simple piece of code added, so it makes sense? Thanks. Also, it takes way too ong for reports to show up on the maps! I was in dead stopped traffic last week and was madly reporting the mess, as I was constantly looking at a clear yellow map and supposedly no traffic. After I had posted so many reports, trying to get the map change to red and congestion, I was stopped being able to report anymore. It was a good 40 minutes that i was in traffic, before the map changed orange and showed some slowing!!!! if I had been a wazer following, and hadn't got the immediate update of traffic snarl, I would have been pissed! I think they either have to trust wazers or single out those with constantly reliable repots. Either way, Waze is meant to be better than the others for exactly that reason...the immediacy of the reports. Not happening!
