Missing an option do disable volume ducking of other apps
Using Android phone.
While driving, I listen often to audiobooks (or music) via bluetooth from the phone.
Waze is configured to play the instructions via phone speaker.
When waze plays instructions, it forces ducking the volume of other playback. (starting a few seconds before til a few seconds after)
That's very impractical. Because of this behavior I miss the portions of sentences of the audiobooks. (That's meaningless, since I can regulate the volume of bluetooth playback and speaker playback independently.)
There needs to be an option disable audio ducking.

It no longer works correctly with Android Auto
Adding addresses by voice no longer works.
There are too many buttons now that used to be under 1 button that was way easier to get to rather than dialing through this mess.
Tha map is covered by big black text balloons that don't need to be so large.
It doesn't load correctly half the time.
I literally have to disconnect my phone from the car, enter my destination, start it, then hook it back up to the Android Auto.

Phones Numbers in French Polynesia are in 8 Numbers format since July 2014 instead of 6. Please can you upgrade ? Since it is impossible to send an SMS for a security code.

Receive alerts even when Waze isn’t in the foreground of Apple CarPlay
I use Apple CarPlay and I may not always have Waze in the foreground. I find that I don’t always receive speed camera alerts unless I am speeding.
It would be excellent to receive audible alerts of speed cameras, or other speed trap or police related alerts, no matter what app is running in the foreground.

Auto shut off and auto start when working with carplay
When iPhone is unplugged, app keeps running and heats up phone.

please note that I cannot use my waze id anymore because my phone changed (not my number) and now you have taken away my contacts. not nice
my old id dragoninrednails does not have a number in it so I cannot sign in; my phone has changed but not my phone number. If I use a new id, it will not verify. I have lost my ability to even get a new account, even though I know my old number and password

Increase police warning distance
Waze users are warned of speed traps or police presence only about 600 feet ahead of time. This is far too late of a warning. With a clear line of sight, law enforcement can detect speeders at 1-2 miles out.
By the time the Waze warning pops up, you could have already been detected.
This feature – while very well intentioned and thought out – is useless with so little warning.

Add a wireless OBD2 sensor for additional vehicle safety information
Suggest adding a wireless Bluetooth OBD2 device (BlueDriver or OBDLink MX+) so Waze can access safety features from your vehicle such as:
1. Blind spot warning
2. Accidental lane departure
3. Show when turn signals are on - for those that forget - optional beep after 5 seconds and before my wife says “YOUR BLINKERS ON!!!”
4. Etc.Option - For lane departure and blind spot warning above - when the two are triggered the Waze display or the hud display below could kick in the appropriate mirror camera video (if the vehicle has mirror cameras) so you see…

Externalize performance parameters as configuration.
Living in a tropical country, driving with my phone under the windshield of my car, for an hour or so, at 35°C, my phone gets so hot it could burn a hole through my pocket. (My phone is a Motorola RAZR i)
I think Waze has a high demand for memory and processing power, to be as responsive as it is.I am guessing that Waze has a lot of automatic tasks that run "every x seconds" to update the road reports, ETA, friends list, reports for you to thumbs up and so on.
I think Waze could make that…

Map doesn't load properly on iOS 13.3 with CarPlay
With Waze for iPhone and CarPlay running iOS 13.3, Waze fails to load the map correctly. Either the map appears blank, or extremely zoomed in and low resolution (because it's zoomed in much more than it's intended to be). I have to use my phone to force quite Waze one or two times before I can get the map to appear correctly. This needs to be fixed, because if I was caught touching my phone in the car while closing the Waze app, I would be given a big ticket for using my phone in the car.

Allow users to choose to display routes on their Phone instead forcing on the Android Auto
Allow users to choose whether to use their phone as Waze for routes or Android Auto as the main display, instead of forcing it to display on Android Auto. Some people want to stream music using Android Auto and use their phones to see directions, as it doesn't distract them from the road. Some head units in cars are positioned lower from the direction of the road and are more of a hassle to look at while driving.

To stop WAZE from automatically shutting down
Could it be possible to keep WAZE active, until the user closes the app down. Ok here is what WAZE has done for years. You activate waze, put in your route and go. You then minimize Waze. Waze happily stays active if you are on the move. BUT become stuck in traffic, Waze will just shutdown. Could Waze be designed to not shutdown the app if minimised, when you are stuck in traffic. It is so annoying. You won't realise Waze is shutdown unless you look at your phone screen and fire Waze back up again, which well then say…

Pinch to zoom on CarPlay
I just switched from android phone from android auto to an iPhone CarPlay. The pinch to zoom option is available on Android Auto, and I was surprised that the CarPlay Waze for iPhone can’t do this. I would love the pitch to zoom option for Waze on CarPlay.
The option that is available is very distracting and cumbersome when using the plus and minus buttons on the Waze app.Please make the pinch zoom available on CarPlay for Waze and quickly for the safety of your users.

Can we make inputs from the radio screen? It is distracting to have to reach for the phone to clear the pop up windows.

Reports ahead
It will be great if the user can choose the alerts types in "Reports ahead" tab. Even if turned off in Reports, they are still shown in the list. For example I'm only interested in police and speed cameras reports ahead. Instead I see countless "Speed limit" , "Dummy camera" , "Road bump" in X kilometers.

Improved Google Assistant Integration on Android Auto
