2. When I use the voice commands it keeps saying the town and then "island"!

   See the title. The voice commands are great but why does it say the name of the town and then "island" and ask if that is correct?

7. When can we add flemish voices again?

   I remember that waze had besides the Dutch voices also flemish voices to help you navigate. For some reason they have been removed.
   
   A huge group of flemish people in Belgium would appreciate the return of a flemish voice. (the same or another)

8. Voice Reporting Popup Doesn't Auto Dismiss

   With the new voice reporting option, a popup appears when in navigation mode (not immediately either) that asks whether to enable or dismiss this new feature. This popup never auto-dismisses. This popup appeared to me twice, even after dismissing on the first ask.

   I'm in Motorcycle mode already, so you should know I cannot interact with the screen. Now I have to start navigation, wait for the popup, click dismiss. Otherwise the popup will cover my navigation for the entire trip.

   This is unacceptable and unsafe UI design. Don't design a popup that doesn't dismiss, and don't design to popup to only appear after navigation has already started, especially for motorcycle mode.

9. Request to Improve Malay‑Road‑Name Pronunciation in English Voice Guidance

   Dear Waze Team,

   I would like to suggest an improvement to Waze’s voice navigation for users in Malaysia:
   Currently, many Malaysian road names (e.g., “Jalan Tun Razak”, “Lingkaran Syed Putra”, “LEKAS”) are often mispronounced when using the English‑language voice, even though the spelling is correct. This can be confusing when driving because the spoken name does not match the local way people say it.
   I would like to request that Waze:
   1. Improve the English‑voice TTS engine to better handle common Malay‑language road‑name patterns (Jalan, Lebuhraya, Persiaran, etc.), so they sound closer to how Malaysians actually say them.
   2. Optionally allow mixing: keep directions in English (e.g., “Turn right in 500 metres”) but route‑specific names in a more locally‑accurate Malay‑style pronunciation.
   3. Allow users to submit preferred pronunciations for specific road segments (e.g., via the edit/feedback flow) so the community can help refine how names are spoken.
   This would greatly improve the driving experience in Malaysia, especially for people who use English UI but drive on roads with predominantly Malay names.

13. Voice confirm or expiry of reports

    One of Waze's greatest strengths is its community reporting system. However, Waze is much better at creating and confirming reports than it is at efficiently removing stale reports when conditions change.

    As a result, users often encounter reports that were once accurate but are no longer valid because police have moved on, traffic has cleared, roadworks have finished, hazards have been removed, or weather conditions have changed.

    The goal of this suggestion is to make Waze reports more current, accurate, and self-correcting by allowing users to safely confirm not only that a report is still valid, but also that it is no longer valid.

    Please add hands-free confirmation and removal of Waze reports.

    When Waze announces a report ahead, users should be able to respond by voice with:

    "Still there"

    or

    "Not there"

    Waze should associate these commands with the most recent report the user has approached or passed, using GPS position and direction of travel.

    To improve accuracy, Waze should create a speed-sensitive confirmation corridor around the report location rather than relying on a fixed distance.

    For example:

    • On urban roads, confirmations could be accepted within a few hundred metres before and after the report location.
    • On freeways, confirmations could be accepted within a larger corridor reflecting higher travel speeds.

    This would accommodate GPS inaccuracies, traffic lights, delayed reporting, rider and driver reaction times, and the fact that reports are often submitted slightly before or after the actual hazard location.

    The same functionality should also be available through the touch interface so that voice and touch users contribute data in the same way.

    This system should apply to all Waze report types, including police, crashes, traffic jams, stopped vehicles, roadworks, potholes, objects on the road, weather hazards, flooding, fog, ice, and other reported hazards.

    Importantly, a single "Not there" response should not immediately remove a report. Users can make mistakes, press the wrong button, or miss a hazard.

    However, recent negative confirmations should carry greater weight than older positive confirmations. For example, if a report has accumulated many confirmations over time, a small number of recent "Not there" responses should be sufficient to indicate that conditions have changed and the report is no longer valid.

    This would allow reports to expire more accurately while remaining resistant to accidental taps, voice-recognition errors, or individual mistakes.

    The result would be safer operation for motorcyclists, new drivers, truck drivers, Android Auto users, CarPlay users, and anyone who should not be interacting with a screen while moving.

    Most importantly, it would improve the accuracy and freshness of Waze data by making it as easy to remove stale reports as it is to create and confirm them.

17. Normal waze voice but putting the word “the” in front of highway numbers because that’s how people from California talk

    A normal, female or male voice that provides normal directions but uses “the” in front of highway name. i.e. take “the” 57 to “the” 101. This is how Californians call highways and it’s really funny to hear the contrast between natives and people that aren’t from California.
