  1. Road Condition Rating/Grades

Showing potholes is a great feature especially in snowy climate. It would also be great to rate the road and conditions. Such as a block feature or an avoidance feature. I traveled 20mph on a road label 50mph due to how terrible the conditions was, it felt like I hit a speed bump every 40 yards. I would label this road a "D", if I could avoid these roads like a less than "C" feature, that would be awesome. User ratings paired with GPS acceleration compared to the speed limit could really help avoid these disastrous neglected road and pick…

    Hey,

Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Not right now, since we finalized our plans for 2024 and this idea won't be implemented this year.

We hope to include it in our plans for later down the line.

    Thanks!

  5. Alert: Excessive traffic deceleration.

Irrespective of cause, unusually great deceleration of one vehicle is a hazard for the vehicles behind - at least on highways with average speed above that of city traffic.
Real-time alerts from the Waze system via our community of users may offer a unique opportunity to prevent (or reduce injuries and damage of) highway mass crashes.

Various alerting criteria may be used e.g:
Client accelerometers (or GPS-speed time derivatives) indicating a deceleration greater than, say, the 80th percentile for that road (segment) or average speed level - established by Waze server statistics.

  6. Update reporting location

It would be great to mark where the report is, example, after observing a police speed trap, we should be able to mark where the trap is. Now Waze assumes it is right where I am when making the report, but that is not accurate.

    My idea to improve the APP is as follows;
When the driver goes on a carriageway where the speed limit is 50 and after about 150 meters it becomes 30, he should be warned by voice as when approaching a speed camera. In other words, the driver does not need to take his eyes off the road.

  10. Hybrid Zoom Mode

Add a third option to the zoom choices. A hybrid mode that uses the closer of the speed or distance zoom. This would allow for the map to zoom in as you approach your next turn at highway speeds and also zoom into your location in slow traffic to show possible alternate routes, while otherwise staying zoomed out.

  11. Ask about traffic slowdown when going significantly less than the speed limit

When going slow, but not quite slow enough to ask about a traffic jam (e.g. a fairly consistent 30mph in a 70mph zone), especially when in a construction zone, have it ask about a slowdown similar to jams.

  12. On this waze version, a new icon ( add friends...) located on the close to bottom right of the screen partially hides the speed meter.

Either get rid of this almost useless icon or at least move it up in such a way it does not overlap the speed indicator

  13. Speeding Camera icon

I suggest that the Speeding Camera icon can be more obvious or may be larger on map.. Coz I sometimes I mistook the icon as other wazers.. Or wazer icons are too much to cover over the speeding camera icon... Thank you for reviewing my feedback.

  15. Six essential functions when using apps on mobile phones

    Recommendations for the Waze app:
    1. Add setting item: Speed adjustment is a slider from 0 to 15km/h to compensate for slower speed compared to reality due to gps latency
    2. Change the current speeding warning threshold setting menu to a slider with values from -20km/h to 20km/h so that users can choose the appropriate warning threshold for each need.
    3. Add voice speed warning sound option
    4. Add option to Repeat overspeed warning: (Off, 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds…)
    5. Increase the size of the speed indicator and speed limit to match…

  16. Help calculate ETA based on passive speeds of fellow Wazers

I'm not sure if it's already exists or not... But I'm wondering how calculations are done in terms of "estimated times of arrival"?

Is Waze passively tracking and analyzing the speed data from other Wazers while driving?

For instance, if everyone on the highway is doing 75 or 80 miles an hour ahead of you, Waze should be able to use those analytics to create a more accurate ETA.

Instead, I often find myself driving and arriving sooner than the ETA because traffic dictates driving a bit faster so as not to be unsafe.

Additionally, this could also share an…

  17. "xx min ago" on alert popup

add age of the report to the popup when alerting the driver about police/speed trap, hazard, accident etc.
it does not take much space, but will be very informative and useful for Wazers - to know, when does the report was commited

  18. Waze should have Patch Notes for every update. Let Users know what has changed with each new version (dropped support, improved support etc)

Patch Notes, like those implemented in every online game in the past two decades, would drastically reduce User issue-reporting (with the app) due to misunderstanding of which Waze features are supported, which are not, which features have lost support and where etc.

Just every time the User updates the app, upon next sign-in, just flash a dialogue box with the latest patch notes (perhaps a link).

As an aside: the Help Center could be more clear and specific about how certain features (e.g., speed camera alerts) work. The exact parameters for getting audible speed camera alerts are not known and…

  19. is there a way to speed up or bypass the go now screen? I drive for Uber and Lyft and response time is very critical. Please advise.

Can I speed up or bypass the "go now" screen? So I don't have to push the button every time to get a quick response. Please advise.
