Haptic alert
Hi
I want all speed alerts to be vibrational - via Apple Watch. I need the feature to be active all the time, so when I run out door and jump in car I know I will be alerted every time I exceed a speed limit. I need the vibration to continue until speed is back within limit.
This is essential for a motorcycle rider and I think best option for car driver also, you can be looking at phone or expecting to hear a ph in noisey environment, let alone feel a vib from phone in a…

Say what alert is for
When there is a pothole, accident or some other alert, these days we just hear a ding. It does not say what the alert is for, you have to look at the screen to see. Rather say "Pothole ahead" etc. The ding sound is the exact same sound my car makes for low fuel. It is extremely annoying to hear the ding every now and again. It also dims the radio/music for a while. Pleas rather just say what the alert is for using your words.

Crosswalk Alert (Visual + Optional Voice)
Marked pedestrian crosswalks are among the highest-risk points where vehicles and pedestrians interact, especially at night, during poor weather, or in areas with weak lighting.
Introducing a Crosswalk Alert — a small on-screen icon with an optional short voice cue such as “Pedestrian crossing ahead” — would provide drivers with earlier situational awareness without affecting routing. Activated only on verified crosswalks, this alert would function similarly to existing permanent notifications such as speed bump warnings, hazard alerts, camera notifications, and other fixed safety cues.
Such an alert would reduce reaction-time delays, improve driver readiness in limited-visibility areas, and help…

Flash screen or show some form of Visual alert (Maybe flash the screen white and black 3 times?), when you have audio alerts muted
Flash screen or show some form of Visual alert (Maybe flash the screen white and black 3 times?) that would catch the drivers eye, when you have audio alerts muted? I mute mine as it causes my music to go quiet when an alert happens. (Apple CarePlay). A distinctive total screen flash might catch my peripheral vision, "Police ahead".

NHVR alert
The national heavy vehicle regulator (NHVR) is Australia's independent regulator for heavy vehicles (over 4.5 tonnes) and is responsible for enforcing the Heavy Vehicle National Law. In other words they are an absolute pain in the ****. NHVR can set up on weigh bridges and/or “pads” and float around rural towns pulling over anyone they please.
At the moment the only way of knowing NHVR are around or set up is through communicating with other truckies on the rd or Facebook pages.
I know there is already an alert on Waze for police but I believe having an alert separately…1 vote -
Speed limit alert
Hey Waze
I have a proposal that I think would help with traffic safety. You have already created a speed alert. The problem today is that it only gives an alarm once in a speed zone. To get a new alarm, you need to enter a new speed zone. I thought it might be a good idea to make it possible for you to choose to get an alarm as long as you drive too fast, and that you can choose the alarm tone and volume. In android auto, the speedometer is placed on the right side of the…

Kids in the car alert
Kids in the car alert so we stop hearing sad stories!
Add the option for parents to add this info to their account, maybe even to add their children's names. and upon arrival to destination, make the waze voice say something like: dont forget kids in the car, or dont forget sara in the car....
Same way you make the sound at the beginning of the drive to remind to turn on the lights .
Maybe even make a pop up alert that you can only close by pressing ok.....3 votes -
Indicate the distance just below the arrow of the direction change
When a direction change is indicated, the distance should be placed just below the arrow, and not on the left side of the screen

Include NEW ALERT for the type of camera radar
Include NEW ALERT for the type of camera radar:
In Spain on the A2 - KM8 (Madrid) direction Barcelona there is a camera radar, which is fine if you speak on the phone or if you play gps.4 votes -
Alert of low sun
Especially is early spring and the after year, low sun is frequent, blinding you and preventing you from having a clear view of the road or being able to properly assess what is happening in front of you on the road. Therefore in my idea to add a Los Sun alert to the alerts so that you are prepared for the low sun

Change the "In 0.1 mile, turn/exit..." alert
This not only gets annoying, but the redundancy of it can lessen its urgency--Change this to "Prepare to turn/exit" as a better audible alert that a turn or exit is imminent.

Alert placement on The map
The alert should be placed where I press the first button in the process (in this case, the yellow triangle), not where I select the type of alert later on.

Alternative sound alert for major turnings/junctions
It would be good to have an alert option for just major junctions or turning on your route that are coming up.
For example, when going down a motorway or other route that you have driven previously in the past/know, you don't need constant turn by turn directions, just alerts for "getting off the motorway at junction 11" or "turn right" at a big roundabout etc.

Count TURNS, not distance to the next turn
when people give directions to each other, naturally they will say 'on the 2nd turn, take a right turn'.
We are better at counting turns, than meters or miles...
if Waze could do the same, instead of 'in 500m turn right', it would be great208 votes -
Permanent “End of Pavement” Alert
In several regions, especially on state highways and rural roads, there is an abrupt transition in pavement—for example, the end of the asphalted section and the beginning of a dirt or basalt-stone road. These sudden surface changes can catch drivers by surprise, particularly during low-visibility hours, adverse weather conditions, or on higher-speed roads.
Technical and Road Safety Justification:
Changes in pavement type can pose significant risks to drivers, such as:
Rear-end collisions, when the vehicle ahead suddenly slows upon noticing the change in pavement;
Loss of control and roadway departures, due to loose gravel, irregularities, or reduced traction on dirt…1 vote -
Alert to turn always lights on on motorcycles
In portugal it's mandatory motorcycles always ride with the lights on.
Like in cars we have an alert to turn on the lights in tunels, when we are riding, the GPS remember to turn on the lights and never alert In tunels (because the lights are already on)1 vote -

Longer delay before removing alert - Extend period to respond to alert.
Hi. Love Waze, but this idea is one of three that would take it from good to great for me...
Problem: The ability to respond to alerts (example for hazards: 'still there' or 'gone') disappears too quickly. Often (pot holes, for example) you need to be right on it before you can see it. Yet as soon as you are past it, the alert has disappeared and the user cannot respond. This contributes to the general problem of a high number of redundant (old) alerts because people don't have a chance to tell the app that the hazard…
