2. A few user stories for supporting BEV / electromobility in Waze

   Dear Wazers,

   I have been using your product far before "the Google times." When I first downloaded Waze, the road to my home was not "Wazed-paved" yet, so I had to pave it myself :). Anyway, that's not what I'm writing you about. I want to extend a request to you through a few user stories, which would significantly enhance my electromobility driving experience. I hope you're already thinking in that direction, and we'll see enhancements for BEV (battery-electric vehicles) soon.

   There're plenty of elecromobile-specific apps, but Waze is my current choice for a guidance app. As such, I am suffering because I need to switch back/forth from Waze to another app when it comes time to plan a long drive.

   If you would like to enhance our experience with Waze easily, you could partner with the two most powerful solutions, PlugShare and abetterrouteplanner.com (of course, if they agree). But I think you're big enough to believe in enhancing your app by yourself and giving us the functionality to fulfill our e-mobility needs.

   I took the liberty to draft a few user stories, which I can find very useful. Although all of them will give excellent functionality to Waze, the first one is the most important, which would position Waze as the first massively used navigation software which incorporates proper functionality for e-mobility. I hope you have plans to win this market even better.

   In any case, here're the stories. Each story has a justification/overview to it.

   As a user, I need to see charging stations on the map so that I can plan my travel accordingly

   This one is the "mother of all e-mobility" stories. Of course, it's so big that it's easily epic, but shortly said, we, the users, need a way to see the charging stations on the map.

   The distinguished properties of each charger on the map should be like those below:

     name: "Awesome charger" # The name of the charging station, user free-form
     owner: "EVPoint" # the charging station owner
     description: "Please use our apps, available at our home page https://evpoint.bg/, to activate the charger."
     max-power: 150 # the maximum power, in kW, of the whole station. Sometimes people use only this parameter to judge the power delivery speed, but often it's necessary to have granulation per socket.
     connectors: # Lists all charging connectors available at the station. This is a good reference for it: https://evcharging.enelx.com/resources/blog/552-ev-charging-connector-types
       - CCS2: # CCS2 charging connectors at the station
           - count: 2 # two CCS2 charging connectors
           - max-power: 75 # 75 kW max power each
       - CHADEMO: # Chademo connectors at the station
           - count: 1 # one Chademo connector
           - max-power: 50 # 50 kW max power 
   

   The description might seem optional, but without it we will need a place to know the URL from which we will access the charging app. Usually, most of the manufacturers have their specific apps. So any particular data on how to access the station services is put in this field.

   A very important part of this functionality is the filters. When a BEV travels a long distance, we usually use the fact DC-chargers. These give us a charge for approx 100-150 miles (150-250 km) in 10-20 minutes. Most of these chargers are located near (or directly as part of) existing gas stations.

   As part of an MVP, I would accept the first four fields, with the ability to filter by max-power. However, an "MVP-2" stage with the connectors property, and the ability to filter by their type, will be a must since not all cars support all connectors. For example, a TESLA might have its own connector only, and my car has only CCS2 for DC charging.

   As a user, I would like to enter my BEV range so that Waze helps me plan longer rides

   This is a must if I could use Waze as my assistant for BEV travels. My vehicle has a range (let's simplify this for now - just a number of km or miles in my account).

   Based on this range, Waze could show me in a friendly way, directly over my travel map, where my coverage ends. Then I can zoom in, choose a suitable charging station, and plan my ride accordingly (see below). For this, Waze has to have support for more than one Stops (I think right now you allow only one stop, but even this would do, for an MVP, it's more than OK).

   As a user, I need better support for community-driven charging station data and status

   The community feedback is critical since the map is not yet saturated with chargers. Thus, having the ability to rate/comment on each charging station is a functionality that I use very often. When I plan my trip, I usually avoid chargers, where the community says "broken." And when a charger comes back online, the community is very fast to indicate this.

   The best way to leave feedback is to indicate if any user had a successful charging session. A simple Yes/No would do. The system can then calculate an overall rating per charger and display it in a Rating section. The written feedback from each user can also be displayed there (if there's such a given with the "Charge-successful/unsuccessful" rate).

3. Waze needs to understand letter streets in cities (e.g. N St. is not North St.)

   In cities all over, letter streets are common. Waze consistently voices N St. as North St., S St. as South St., etc. I guarantee you, in 99% (at least) of cities, N followed by St. will always be N St. not North St.

   Existe uma zona restrita para onibus e van no centro de São Paulo. Ter como selecionar onibus ou caminhão e evitar estes pontos, assim como mostrar a velocidade limite dos mesmos.

5. Velocímetro

   Posição do velocímetro é prejudicada pela mensagem de ocorrência de "RADAR'.

   A visualização do velocímetro fica prejudicada, ou até mesmo encobertada pela mensagem enorme alertando sobre RADAR'.

   Solução proposta é permitir, nas próximas atualizações, que o usuário escolha a melhor posição do Velocímetro no mapa. Ou que o mesmo
   seja flutuante.

11. New adult looking display... The update looks like a child designed it

    The new update on Android really killed Waze in my opinion. I like the new button layout and placements, but there are a few problems with the display.
    a) Color scheme - Looks like a child colored it in. I would like not so vibrant colors and more professional looking.
    b) The view port - It seems to show much more of the road you have already passed than it did before the update. I'm not concerned with the road I have already driven on, I would much rather see more ahead.
    c) Road Thickness - WAY too thick!!! At any complex junction all of the roads bleed together and are hard to follow. Apple's map app has very nice looking road thickness and color scheme that is easy to follow.
    d) Not enough Information - I wish the map had more information like more highway and interstate numbering. It would be nice if restaurants and other places were shown on the app while driving - again like Apple.
    e) I have also noticed that the time before a turn that Waze notifies you seems to have been shortened. My first drive I took with the update was through places I have not been before. I missed a few turns (granted I wasn't zeroed in on my app) but this never happened with the previous version of the app.

    I think a combination of all of these factors has led to a more poorly designed app. The only reason I use it now is because it alerts me for hazards and cops :/ I think Waze took a big step back, and I may soon switch to other navigation apps after collecting 32k+ points in Waze...

    Ojalá que en la próxima actualización se pueda mantener nuevamente en primer plano WAZE al momento de realizar ó recibir una llamada telefónica, esa opción ahora no está y era bien útil, ya que la llamada no interferia al momento de visualizar la pantalla porque ese se mantenía siempre a la vista y la conversacion era por intermedio de altavoz, ahora cuando uno está hablando la pantalla se va a ahorro de energía y se a apaga, se agradecería volvieran a incorporar esa opción.     Bom o waze ficou legal com essa atualizaçao mas os nomes das ruas sumiram so fica umas tres e olha la, quando colocamos um endereço a linha azul sobresae sobre a rua e quando tem uma bifurcação ou rotatoria com 3 caminhos proximos a linha azul cobre tudo fazendo errarmos o caminho era pra pegar a da direita pegamos a do meio ou esquerda .... voltem a colocar as ruas como era antes , e a linha que mostra o trajeto diminuam deixe azul mesmo mas que somente se veja no meio do tracejado da rua pois sinceramente estou começando a usar o google maps por esse motivo quando chego em um local de tres saidas as tres estao cobertas pela linha e acabo pegando uma que nao era para pegar muitos motoristas do uber estao comentando que depois dessa atualizaçao esta complicado usar o waze . segundo forma 3d so aparecem ruas nao aparecem os predios e tal como antes e esta pesado demais as melhorias ficaram boas mas precisam arrumar isso a linha do trajeto nao pode cobrir o espaço da rua todo pois em pontos onde temos tres ou quatro junçoes e retorno todas ficam abaixo da linha .. a linha azul poderia ser mais fina mostrando onde entrar e sair nesses casos pelas ruas mas fazer oq acho que desistirei do waze mesmo com 18 mil pontos dirigindo 12 horas para o uber e começarei a usar o google maps nem sempre o colorido, espalhafatoso e o melhor e sim o mais simples e mais pratico .... fica ai a ideia pois 80% de meus clientes pedem hoje pra eu usar o google maps e eu ainda uso o waze por gostar mas to pensando em começar a usar o google maps

14. Show alternate route traffic

    Give the capability to tap the screen to see alternate route traffic. For instance, Original Route goes from Point A to B to C to D to E. Along the way, WAZE reroutes and goes from A to B to M to N to E.
    It would be beneficial to the user to be able to tap the screen, and see both routes- the new one, and the original with red where the traffic is.

16. Nomes das ruas atrapalham e poluem a navegação.

    Os nomes das ruas , muitas vezes, sobrepõem a seta de negação atrapalhando e dificultando a navegação. Poderia ter um opção de ocultar os nomes das ruas pra tornar a navegação mais limpa.

17. Group toll passes & exemptions by country and/or state

    It would be great that if in the app the Toll passes and exemptions would be grouped by country and/or state. As there are a gazillion ones in the list it's hard to find the ones you want to choose.

    Ex. Belgium -> LEZ Antwerp, LEZ Bruxelles, LEZ Ghent and etc.
    France -> Crit'Air 1,2,3,4,5,E
    Germany -> Umweltplakette Grün, Umweltplakette gelb.

18. Fix routing around large bodies of water e.g. Lake Michigan

    For example, when I travel from Milwaukee to Detroit, I have to use Google Maps because Waze can't figure out how to drive around Lake Michigan. It's been like this for years and would be great if it could get fixed. The only way I can get it to work is to do a trip from Milwaukee to Chicago and then from Chicago to Detroit.

19. Segnalazione visiva e sonora per autovelox, tutor, telecamere semafori

    Si potrebbe implementare la possibilità di scegliere il lampeggio della scritta "AUTOVELOX FISSO" e di altre simili sul display ? inoltre, per il suono relativo... poter associare un suono personale all'evento (wav,mp3)
