When you need to take a tunnel (go down in tunnel)

Enable automatic night mode for tunnel segments
It would be a nice addition to Waze to get automatic night mode for tunnel segments.
We're already adding the necessary information for this feature when creating tunnel segments.

Tunnel Navigation bluetooth OBDII
Typically GPS signal is lost in long tunnels. Why not include a waze connection to a bluetooth enabled OBDII device in your car to give accurate speed. The direction is immaterial as the tunnel path is well known. The devices are cheap about $5 to $20 on ebay. Waze would benefit by knowing speed through tunnels. Yes, beacons are good, but not if they are sparsely placed.

Please fix Stockton St. Tunnel
Drivers trying to find 645 Stockton St. San Francisco, CA consistently get lost, because your app sends them through the Stockton St. tunnel and this address is directly ABOVE the tunnel. So your app apparently can't tell the difference. We are not moles and do not live underground!

Display should change from bright to dark mode while driving through an tunnel
The waze app should change from bright to dark mode while driving through an tunnel.
Waze maps should know if the actual position is in an tunnel (calculated by the route as the is no position in tunnels) and when driving in an tunnel the display should change. After leaving the tunnel the screen should change back to bright mode, if bright miy was active before the tunnel and it bright mode should not be activated at this time (in regards the the configuration to change to dark mode automatically).

Why won’t the maps allow me to cross the dartford tunnel/ QE2 bridge
It won’t let me go through the tunnel or over the bridge. I have clicked allow the dart charge as an exemption but it makes no difference. Ive deleted it and re-downloaded it but it doesn’t work.

Disable query to driver of potential traffic/slow down when entering tunnel
GPS is commonly lost when entering tunnels. The app should disable asking the driver if they have encountered traffic and a slow down if the driver is in a tunnel.

Show and say the next action before the gps signal lost in tunel
I'm living in a country where lot of tunnel on the road. I all the time facing the problem where I have no time to change the lane at the exit of the tunnel, because the signal lost in the tunnel, and when the device lock the signal again there not enough time to take the action.
It would be nice to warn the user "you driving into the tunnel at the tunnel exit keep left" or something similar.
Yes I know I can see the next action when the gps signal lost but if I don't know…13 votes -
speed / progress estimation
In areas where there is no GPS available, expecially in tunnels, what about a speed / progress estimation? This could be based on:
1) let's say.. 80%-90% of speed before entering a tunnel
2) if other wazers drove through that tunnel shortly before, you should know when they entered and left the tunel and so approximate the speed in the tunnel. This would have several advantages:
1) no "jumping" on map, no "jumping" in ETA (as now you stand at the beginning of the tunnel and then jump to the end)
2) when there is something to report…15 votesGreat news! Simulating the navigation while driving in a tunnel is now available in Waze. Install the latest app version to check it out.

have a countdown of kilometres based on the speed limit when going into a tunnel
Any time you drive into a tunnel that goes underground the GPS thinks you’re above the ground and starts changing the directions as it thinks you’re above the ground on the Street level when underground in the tunnel so if you need to then go 20 km in the tunnel and there’s various exits. How do you know how far you’ve driven in order to get to your exit underground when it’s recalculating because it thinks you’re above the ground and never figures it out that you’re actually still in the tunnel. So maybe have an option where people…

Estimating the time to pass tunnels using average speed
When Waze suggests a path with a tunnel, the estimation time is always incorrect, and I cannot conclude that this is the best route. For example, if the time to pass a tunnel without traffic is 2 min and I pass it in 10 min (because of traffic), then after I came out of the tunnel, the estimation time become +8 min. I think Waze uses instantaneous velocity and GPS location to estimate traffic. In tunnels, GPS doesn't work (and many of tunnels don't have beacons), so Waze does not compute traffic in tunnels. This…

Adding an exemption pass for Blackwall and Silvertown tunnels When you have disable badge
When you have a disable badge you can apply for congestion charge exemption. This is already a pass on the app you can add. However, this also allows you to go through Blackwall tunnel and Silvertown tunnel for free. So adding this exception should be updated. Since it always defaults to going over dartford bridge.

A feature that allows drivers to get help quickly if they break down in a tunnel with Waze beacons installed
When you enter a tunnel, and the Waze app senses this, it will put another icon on the screen, such as a red triangle with an exclamation mark, the same as your vehicles hazard light button.
If you get into trouble, you tap this button, and it brings up a screen that gives the tunnel operator's name and phone number (button), along with the direction of travel and exact location, e.g., nearest road marker on the wall. This information would be critical for quickly getting CCTV vision, lane closure lights, and dispatch of tow trucks.
It could also tell…

Improve navigation in tunnels
When a route that includes motorway tunnels is started in Waze, it includes sections in motorway tunnels accurately. Once in the tunnel it recalculates and guides you as if you are travelling above ground. Google Maps continues to show the route through the tunnel with an indication that the position of the vehicle is an estimate only. The Google Maps method should be applied to Waze.

Put a bike lane in the Lincoln and Holland tunnels
https://twitter.com/waze/status/1091359985647394816
Nobody can walk into NYC from Jersey City/Hoboken. You need to drive a vehicle or take a bus. Seems really tone def. I'm just following instructions from your twitter account. Would love for you to work with the port authority of new york / new jersey to get a bike lane or some way for pedestrians to walk under the tunnel.
