Built-in drive safely
I believe it would be worthwhile to build-in in Waze a Drive-safely module, disconnecting tel/messages/ and so on , as all apps I tried somewhere corrupt the Waze Gps screen. As Waze knows I'm driving , knows where I'm driving to , and even know at which speed I believe it is not a really difficult programmation .

Select initial driving direction
I wanted to suggest this idea but found it was suggested already six years ago but for some reason, this simple but important feature has not yet been implemented.
So I’m quoting the original request someone sent in 2018:Very often Waze starts up navigation facing the wrong driving direction. The direction is rectified as the vehicle starts moving, but it can be too late for the initial turn.
Please add the ability to switch driving direction when navigation starts, via a button.

Narrated story while passing by interesting landmarks
While travilng to unknown places, it would be nice if waze will alert you of any interesting landmarks or relevent facts along your way. It will have to be according to a list that specify what you are interested in, and have an easy off switch for people using waze for daily drives.
The alert can be either like a commercial or a link to the relevent wikipedia page, or it could be narrarted for hearing while driving.1 vote -
I-4 Ultimate Express Lanes
The new express lanes on I-4 through Orlando, aka I-4 Ultimate, are finally finished. While they physically show up on the Waze map display, they're never recognized as roads whenever anyone drives on them and it just freaks out thinking I am either on the normal I-4 lanes or somewhere off route. They also are never offered as routes and no doubt save a ton of time when the downtown Orlando traffic is backed up.

Driving to catch a flight
Imagine you are off on holiday. Perhaps hiring a car to drive to your destination after catching a flight. You could put your ultimate destination in to Waze and the airport / flight you are going to take.
Waze could keep you up to date on your departure while you're driving to the airport. (and advise on a departure time from your origin). It can update your friends of your progress.
It could keep your ETA up to date with your friends by cross-referencing the flight information and expected arrival time. (It could probably show your approx location based on…

Option to disable new message pop-ups while driving
You guys have designed this lovely pop-up to be intrusive and distracting. Some users might love getting pop-ups while driving through roundabouts and complex junctions, some users (surprisingly) will not like it.
Please give us the option to disable this pop-up.

More accurate "share your drive" with your Wazer friends
More accurate "share your drive" with your Wazer friends, please. At the moment it will update my location on map approx. every 2-3min but i would really like to see almost a real time location on map.
If you share your drive with non-wazer and he/she watch your journey via browser, it looks way better because my Waze figure moves on the map all the time. I assume this location is estimation based on travel time but it's still way better than figure which doesn't move at all or moves point to point every now and then.

TAKE OUT POLICE REPORTED AHEAD.
Police reports makes the drivers alert at that short particular moment. Especially those inconsiderate drivers who drives near the divider fast and cut in to the other lane opposite to what they used to speed forward. This MAKES THE JAM WORSE! INCONSIDERATE DRIVERS SHOULD BE PUNISHED SO THAT THEY LEARN.

Remove parking lots from view while driving
Parking lots should be revamped as place points as opposed to area places to reduce visual clutter on the map while driving. Or perhaps a "show parking lots in app view" toggle to give drivers the option to see them. It could be enabled by default.
Larger parking lots in front of big-box retail stores like Target or Walmart should be obvious and not displayed. You can't miss them, they are often the only place to park.

drive the speed limit alerts when cutting through a neighborhood
Waze sends lots of drivers through my neighborhood when traffic is bad. Most drive over the speed limit and will even pass others who are driving the speed limit. Because you have demonstrated that you do not care about my neighborhood, except as a cut-through, please add a voice alert that will sound when people are using waze to cut through neighborhoods reminding people to drive the speed limit.

turn off the automatic drive home routing.
Ability to turn off the auto route home feature. I don't Need directions home from work every day and I'm constantly having to cancel the navigation so not interrupted by the turn by turn audio

Drive with others
My idea would make it so you can add friends to your profile, and with those friends you could “drive with them” and it would link you guys on the same trip. Then it could find switch out points for you based on your drive. Also while I’m driving, the other person could close out the app and when it’s their turn, i pass the drive to them and it picks up on their phone right where I left off.

Display the name of the town/City that i am currently driving through.
Simply Display In some small way, the name of the town I am currently driving in. Sometimes it would be nice to know the name of the town I currently am driving through, Ie. because some police departments use different types of cars, colors etc. If I knew the name of the town I was in... I would know what to look for. Or simply if I am even in the town of my destination. There are multiple reasons this could be useful. To have options to report unsafe areas (Eg.South Africa - Riots) so that tourists and people unaware don't drive into said areas
I am from South Africa and unfortunately we often have riots and there are areas that aren't safe to drive. It would be good to have an option that allows this to be highlighted or reported (as we do with traffic) so people that are unaware don't intentionally drive into dangerous areas.

Improving the driving assistant like googlemap assistant or, even better, like Plan (which is base on tomtom in France)

Enable passenger search while driving in android auto mode
In android auto the search is removed until the car is stopped. My passenger wants to search for a new location destination. Sadly we have to stop the car to do that. A prompt asking if you are the driver would be better, then allow them to search. How can waze assume all interaction must be the driver?? If the driver declares to be a passenger well that's driver negligence but stop All interaction to prevent that, this renders the app useless at times.

Big truck on side of the road.
Hello, would you consider: an option for "Big Truck" stopped on the shoulder? As someone who drives a commercial motor vehicle over a 130,000 miles a year, I can tell you that the majority of cars on the shoulder are abandoned whereas the majority of big trucks on the shoulder are broken down and or getting service at the time and there's usually a human being somewhere walking in and out of the highway at the truck is being repaired. Variable Speed Limit Camera Audio Cues
Hi, based in the UK here.
When a user drives in a variable speed limit zone on a motorway in the UK, Waze thinks the speed limit is 70 mph all the time when in fact the speed limits can be changed from anywhere between 20 mph and 70 mph.
These variable speed limit zones have several speed cameras that can detect speeding for a variety of speed limits.

Visual alert to upcoming maneuver
It would be great if there was a way to add visual alerts (flash screen, etc) so the audio alerts can be turned off but it would still get my attention when I need to pay make a move. This would be especially helpful on long drives with sleeping kids in the car.
