Add restriction for thru traffic
The editor should offer a restriction against thru traffic. While standard guidance for these roads is to use "Private Road" type in the U.S., this road type is misleading, as many of these roads that prohibit thru traffic are in fact public roads.

Alert: Excessive traffic deceleration.
Irrespective of cause, unusually great deceleration of one vehicle is a hazard for the vehicles behind - at least on highways with average speed above that of city traffic.
Real-time alerts from the Waze system via our community of users may offer a unique opportunity to prevent (or reduce injuries and damage of) highway mass crashes.Various alerting criteria may be used e.g:
Client accelerometers (or GPS-speed time derivatives) indicating a deceleration greater than, say, the 80th percentile for that road (segment) or average speed level - established by Waze server statistics.7 votes -

One button for the end of traffic jam.
Then you can see how long the traffic jam is.

Move traffic alerts
Move traffic alerts / keep navigation instructions stationary. There are a lot of traffic alerts and they keep sliding the nav instructions over during important turns and it makes the instructions smaller and more difficult to read quickly.

Stop routing traffic down quiet residential streets
Your app has a very narrow focus. It doesn't take the actual street or the people that live on it into consideration. I have lived on a very quiet residential street until your app has increased in popularity. Thanks to your app, our street is now like a mini-highway and two neighbor pets have recently been killed. Additionally, your ignorant app doesn't take into consideration that it is directing traffic to take a very dangerous left turn onto Briarcliff Road. The results have been numerous accidents. Please take Stephens Drive, 30329 off your cut throughs at once.

Beep and messaging in traffic
I think bringing back the beeping and messaging functions while in traffic can be useful for drivers to talk and possibly discuss alternate routes.

Traffic jam at an exit
If there is a traffic jam on an exit, the highway may be sufficient to indicate this in time.

Traffic reports should end at logical intersection
Traffic reports should end at the next logical intersection: I am active with reporting traffic, because I hope the people leaving after me benefit from the reports. The cars stopped on the road don't care about the map editor and, most times, the traffic is at least running through to the next intersection.
That being said, MANY of my traffic reports stop randomly due to the segments drawn in the map editor. This is illogical.
(I get 'yelled at' for multiple reports when I try to update the true distance of the dead-stop traffic and this would be an…

Make Traffic Slowdowns More Visible when using Directions
Invert the color scheme when using directions so the purple stripe is not overshadowing traffic red/yellow/orange. Example: https://twitter.com/steviecoolest/status/723576075452841985

Live Traffic Color Codes Disappear!
When looking at the live map for the traffic color codes for slow traffic, when I zoom out to look 20-50 miles ahead, THE COLORS DISAPPEAR!! Why?? Frustrating. I have to switch over to Google maps to see traffic colors to see if there any any traffic jams ahead. It would be nice if I could just stay on the Waze app to hear the alerts and not have to switch back and forth.

The traffic direction cant be seen
When someone post bad traffic on any street and the app navigate you via that street, you can barely see the direction of the traffic. So me as a driver have to lean and stare at a phone up close and thats very dangerous, you agree.. so my solution is, make the red/orange traffic line visible only on one side of the direction line. Depending on the direction of the traffic, if traffic is in opposite direction of ours the visible line will be on the left side/margin and vice versa. I hope I explained it accurate, its…

Improve waze when traffic is lighter than usual
Hi, It seems that the algorithm is mainly based on statistics of traffic. I can explain: August 15th was a day off in France and of course the traffic was very very light But when using Waze that day, the time and routes poposed by Waze were fully erroneous and really not usable at all! Sytadin.fr was enough that day to decide where to drive...
This kind of issueof course occurs for all holidays, like during summer or Christmas holidays.
Is there a way to improve that?

Alert me when traffic lightens up on a specified route
I should be able to click on a route showing traffic and ask to receive an alert when the traffic lightens up on that route. This is good (for example) for people who have only one route home and want to know when to leave work without checking ease every five minutes.
