select locations to avoid
Click a specific location you want to avoid (dangerous, long light, frequent traffic, personal reasons, etc). If you can click to add a stop to a route, you should be able to select a location and say Avoid this (Just for this trip, Save to un-favorites list, or Always avoid). Currently I have to add a fake stop to trick Waze into rerouting around a known bad spot.

Two lanes road avoidance. Presently trying to plan a route from Thibodaux La to Branson Missouri.
Option to avoid two lane roads. Copilot has given me suggestions for the tip above. Would like a to import to WAZE.

Updating toll prices
There’s a toll in New Gloucester Maine that Waze says is $0.95. But it’s actually $2.25. I’m not sure when the price changed but it would be nice to have a feature that lets u update those prices like you can with gas

Toll roads automatic on/off feature when frequently traveling abroad
It will be helpful if you could please add a feature that will automatically choose ON/OFF for TOLL ROADS when frequently traveling back and forth from ones home country to abroad.
Example, one uses toll roads at the "home" country but when abroad with a rental car wishes to avoid such roads.
Currently there's no such option so when landing abroad or crossing a border, one needs to remember to manually shut down the toll road option, then when arriving back to the home country needs to remember to turn it back on, otherwise the app navigates via much longer…

Add an option to avoid intersections with very long signal cycles, which undoubtedly lead to delays.

Alert of traffic jam to avoid colision
Hello,
Trafic jam must be report as a danger. We need that the voice warn us to slow down before.
Right now the only way to avoid colision is to look at the screen of our phone to see if there a trafic jam. On highway it’s realy dangerous.Thanks

Suppress lane guidance announcement when turning lane is a single lane
Currently, on intersections with Lane Guidance mapped, for TTS voices, Waze announces the number of lanes that turn. For example, "Use the right 2 lanes to turn right".
My suggestion is that if there is only a single lane in the rightmost or leftmost position to perform the turn maneuver (whether it's a Keep, Exit, Turn, or U-Turn), Waze do not announce the "Use the right lane to turn right", or the "Use the left lane to turn left". If there are more lanes or more complex maneuvers, Waze keeps the lane announcments.

Add a feature/option to avoid railroad crossings
Today I got stuck waiting for a freight train twice. It would have saved me time to have an option on Waze to give me an alternate route and how many minutes the detour takes in order to avoid the railroad crossing. When I got stuck for the 2nd time I took a right turn to explore the area and found an underpass 2 blocks away, which saved me about 5 minutes. This gave me the idea.

A checkbox to include toll roads
A checkbox to include toll roads once I'm looking for other route even if the configuration is to navigate without toll roads.

Move avoid highways option to menu
As someone who owns both a car and a motorcycle, I toggle The avoid highways navigation option back and forth all the time. It's currently buried about 3 or 4 menus down. Love to have that moved to the top menu for ease of use.

Avoid Collisions
Add AVOID COLLISIONS on the avoid list. Waze will send me a notification of a collision before my commute but still offers only routes that all take me past the collision. There are plenty of surface routes as an alternative to the freeway I usually take, but Waze won't use them. I would rather arrive at work 5-10 minutes late taking a surface street than 30 minutes late because of following the routes on the freeway with the collision(s).

Add avoid railroad crossings toggle
Waze already lets us avoid tolls, ferries, highways, and other obstacles when rerouting. It should also let us avoid railroad crossings. Sometimes a train is passing and traffic comes to a complete stop, but there’s no quick way to reroute around all crossings.

Avoid asphalt
Avoid long asphalt.
For overlanding and discovering countryside route on smaller roads, preferably gralvel. Aka take the Scenic route.
There is no such navigation app nor functionality on gps devices.
A nice bonus would be a choice, slider: how much longer in time or distance am I willing to drive more then the direct route.2 votes -

Android auto - missing setting
Om android auto user interface there is no posibility on change route option: "avoid/not avoid toll roads"
Very interesting because when you are driving maybe you want to change it easily.

Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Not right now, since we finalized our plans for 2023 and this idea won't be implemented this year.

Toll and HOV passes should NOT be mandatory!
I found out, that of you ommit to MANUALLY add Vignette/Toll pass/HOV pass, your navigation will be put into "Avoid highways" mode. It is a bit frustrating for all who travel a lot abroad to manually add highway passes/Vignettes for each and every highway portion we intend to drive.
My suggestion is Waze should INFORM you for needed Vignette, and you should be able to either IGNORE this (still navigating higways) or to simply (one -click) ADD needed vignette to list of passes you own. That way it would be unser-friendly. For now, when process is manual and…3 votes -
Add option to avoid specific streets in navigation
Sometimes I want to avoid a specific street or area due to police controls, protests, or personal reasons. These are not always reported in Waze, so the app doesn’t know to avoid them.
I suggest adding a setting where users can select certain streets or zones to avoid, either temporarily or permanently. This way, Waze can calculate alternate routes that respect these preferences.
It could be similar to the existing “Avoid tolls” or “Avoid highways” options, but more customizable. Maybe a long-press on the map or a list where we add “Streets to Avoid”.
