  1. "Express" Hazard Reporting

Love Waze, but I don't like how many actual touches are required to report a hazard. The more time it takes to report a hazard, the more time your eyes are not watching the road. Also, the most common hazard I see is a car stopped on the shoulder. I'd like a two-touch way of reporting this. If the report menu could be customizable to include a "quick report" option for the most common hazard a driver encounters, this would be a solution.

  2. New instructions for crossroad junctions/interchange

In the UK, there has been an ongoing debate on the most effective way to map crossroad junctions where drivers have to cross a main road without priority, as shown in this image:
    https://imgur.com/bpKJi9R

The default instructions do not include guidance for routes that go straight, leading to URs for missing instructions even when no turns are required. As there's no instruction, the driver may not realise they have to give way/stop, leading to a potential accident.

If we were to add a "Continue" instruction, it may imply priority, which is not the case, and again, this may lead to…

  3. New option to “add next” addition to “add stop”

Today, we can add a stop before the final destination. Why not all so an option to add a next destination after we arrive at the first destination?

  6. Dynamic reporting buttons

It would be great to have the report buttons to

    1. dynamically reorder according to highest usage. This could be on a per person or per region or all Waze basis.
I personally use the construction, vehicle stopped, and police reports the most.

    2. Preselect most commonly used options (e.g. type of hazard)

    3. Dynamically create favourite buttons at the front of the list for the user's most commonly made reports.

  7. Use accelerometers and gyroscopes to suppliment GPS data

Use accelerometers and gyroscopes to increase accuracy of location with with virtually no power increase. It would also allow navigation through tunnels and such when GPS location is lost. It would also prevent erroneous movement while stopped at a traffic light. There are companies testing this type of technology. One that I have been following but have no financial interest in is navisens.com There are videos from navisens at https://www.youtube.com/user/navisens

  8. cumulate roundabouts

when there is a series of roundabouts where you have a long straight route, the voice guidance quickly becomes annoying, as it repeats the same thing over and over again.

take this example (i have recorded the route and waze behaviour) https://youtu.be/80v8nIPkqQ0

you hear the voice guidance repeating itself all over again

instead when i have a clearly straight route interrupted by roundabouts, please just tell me "roundabout, slow down". that's the most important thing a driver need to listen to when they approach a roundabout that does not change their course.

stop repeating to me that i should take…

  9. Put stopping areas/bays onto maps

When travelling, you need to know where the stopping bays are. on the map you could either have them permanently or as a search button.

  10. Open up Waze to developers so we get third party plugins!

Would be amazing if Waze allowed other developers to integrate their software AND hardware to use with Waze.

Escort radar has their own app where if you hold a button on their radar detector, it'd report it on their cloud to other Escort users that a police is spotted.

However, having to have two apps loaded at a time makes it very difficult to catch alerts from both apps at the same time. Opening up an SDK or API on Waze and allowing other companies and developers to integrate with Waze would allow Waze to dominate the industry.

    With this…

  11. Select which lane a hazard or stopped vehicle is in on the motorway/freeway

Users should be able to select which lane a hazard or stopped vehicle is in on the motorway/freeway.

When driving on a multi-lane road, there's often reports of a hazard that cannot be seen. It would be more useful for "Which lane is the hazard in?" then select 1/2/3/4/5 so that drivers know specifically if it is likely to affect them.

  12. alternate route needed from Lake City FL to Augusta GA

I recently traveled from Lake City, FL to Augusta, GA. The route that Waze took us included about 75-80 miles along US 80 east. While this is a fine road, it is very isolated with no rest stops, only 2 gas stations, and only small rural side roads. If I were to have a flat tire or other emergency, I would be in trouble. There are no mile markers or other landmarks and while I did not try this, but I am not sure that I would have cell service or how far first responders are located. Can you…

  13. Add ferry as a driveable road type

Ferry is currently not an option for road type. Ferries are unique in that that may require you to stop, wait for the ferry and then board. For this reason a ferry should be differentiated from a regular street.

  14. Improve road detection while navigating

When navigating along roads that have service/access roads, the navigation will want to enter the freeway/highway/tollway/etc. If the driver stays on the access road or exits onto the access road, Waze does not detect that and keeps the location locked to the planned route. If Waze wants to route you onto a freeway/highway/tollway/etc. and you do not take the on-ramp, the app locks onto the planned route and thinks you are on the highway.

It would be nice if, when there are multiple parallel roads, that the app reduces the distance over which it will snap to a road. Another…

  15. Stop alerting drivers to automated enforcement cameras.

When you alert drivers to upcoming automated enforcement cameras, you defeat the purpose of this lifesaving technology. The purpose of the cameras is for drivers to receive a warning or a summons, and permanently alter their speeding or red light running behavior. By offering these alerts, Waze encourages drivers to continue driving recklessly. It is the most anti-social thing your company does.

  16. Hurricane Evacuation Routes

Example: I-95N slow moving parking lot (meaning stop and go bumper to bumper traffic) so show less congested routes north or state 20mph parking lot. Travel north or inland would be faster by staying off freeways.

  17. Stop route button in landscape mode

Why is there no stop route button in landscape mode? It doesn't seem like to be a wise idea to not have all the same user interfaces as you do in portrait mode.

  18. Combination Red Light & Speed Camera

In my area there are now red light cameras that are also speed cameras. Why is this relevant? Because if the light is STALE (green for a long period and may be turning yellow/red soon at some point) I and other drivers who are aware that the light may be turning red may speed up to avoid the possibility of a receiving a red light ticket. (Because you can’t just stop for a stale green light) If you are aware the redlight camera also tickets for speed it would be a helpful reminder to keep your speed in check while…

  20. Make list of "suggested eta recipients" editable

Every time I go anywhere using Waze it "helpfully" pops up a picture of ONE person: my ex (and the option to add others). The only person I've ever sent an eta to is my ex, so I guess I'm just doomed to see their contact pic every time I drive?

Even though I've gotten rid of all my Waze friends (why would I need to know when my friend halfway across the country is driving? That's just annoying), and even though I've completely un-synced my contacts (stopped using "send eta" when the resulting info was fairly useless (ex has…
