1. maximum one report per X miles

   Hi there,

   Waze is awesome and everyone is using it. Some like me to navigate from Northern Denmark all the way to Romania on holiday others just to find out about speed traps.

   In Romania, Waze caught a lot of media attention so we have a lot of new users, who are obsessed with the points. The new users part is good. We get more reports, more places, we improve on the map problems and we know exactly where the police is :)))

   But then due to the point system, the new users instead of thanking for a reported police trap they keep re-posting the same thing a lot. This leads to 10-20 police reports for only one police speed trap.

   In a village which was 1km long I've seen 13 police reports for the same police car. I generally look from time to time on the map, and even if it is a police marked on the other side I pay attention to the speed limit.

   It would be nice to have a limit of reports per a certain distance. I've used other police trap apps and they were limiting the distance between the reports. This way you could only report another police trap if it as more than 1 km away from an already existing one.
   This is also happening for traffic reports where on a stretch of 1km road you get 20-30 heavy/standstill traffic. This will only load the server and client uselessly and also consume more data on the end user and server.

   SUGGESTION: Limit the number of POLICE (visible or invisible)/WEATHER/TRAFFIC/CAR STOPPED ON SHOLDER/ROAD WORKS reports to maximum 1 per 1km in both directions. If a user tries to post a new similar/identical report, use his report as a THANK YOU for the existing report and warn the user to use the thank you (thumbs up) button next time.
   The pothole report should be left as it is, as you might have potholes 800m apart.

2. Fix bugs in Waze/Carplay interface

   Hello Waze! Love your app but can't use it on CarPlay due to some technical issues. In my car Waze comes up very loud and seems impervious to the volume controls on my steering wheel, but when I persist, it stops talking to me all together which is not a good thing when you're in the middle of a Drive into a complicated traffic situation. Please fix this issue so I can start using and enjoying ways again. Unfortunately now I am using Google maps which I don't like nearly as much, but at least it allows me to turn off the voice or to adjust the volume . 3. Trip details on finish

   Waze could show some details when we arrive at our destination or press the Stop button, like:

   • Total distance driven
   • Time spent
   • Maximum speed
   • Average speed

4. Reporting Feature / Report Editing

   The ability to create or move an item you reported, e.g. police, accident, etc. after the fact.

   Sometimes you happen upon an accident scene so suddenly you do not think immediately of reporting it on Waze. And it won't help to report it 1 km further. So I would like to be able to add the event and select the precise location after I left the area already. And the ability to drag the icon to a more precise location if I reported it a tad too late.

   Also, if I am driving alone without a passenger to click the buttons, it would be nice to be able to report something the moment I have stopped. Maybe you can add a time limit so that reports can only be made up to 5 or 10 minutes after you've left that specific spot, to prevent false reports.

5. "Multi-Stop Route Support for Delivery Drivers and Professionals"

   I suggest adding a feature to Waze that allows users to input multiple addresses (e.g., 10 or more, as many as the user needs) and get the most optimal route connecting all those points. Currently, Waze only supports adding one intermediate stop, which isn’t enough for delivery drivers or people who need to navigate between several destinations in a day, like within a city. For example, a delivery person could enter 10 different addresses in advance, and Waze would calculate the fastest and most efficient route to visit them all.
   Why is this important?Saves time and money for delivery drivers and professionals who rely on daily navigation.Makes Waze more competitive against other apps that offer multi-stop route planning but lack Waze’s real-time traffic updates.Enhances the user experience for a large community of drivers who need more flexibility in their navigation.
   I’d love your support for this idea – it could help so many people and make Waze the most useful navigation app out there!

6. Ability to disable auto-app start with CarPlay

   Stop automatically starting the app on the iPhone when CarPlay connects to the phone. Waze takes up too much resources on the phone. And I have to keep stopping it. None of my other navigation or map apps automatically start up with CarPlay.

7. Automatic Favorites

   If I deviate from my route and stop for any length of time, Waze should prompt me to add as a favorite place when I resume. For example if I stop at grocery store, car wash, gym or any other place on way home I'd like to have I my favorite places to add as stop on future trips. Likewise if I'm on a trip and stop at great place to eat, I might want to stop next time.

8. A few user stories for supporting BEV / electromobility in Waze

   Dear Wazers,

   I have been using your product far before "the Google times." When I first downloaded Waze, the road to my home was not "Wazed-paved" yet, so I had to pave it myself :). Anyway, that's not what I'm writing you about. I want to extend a request to you through a few user stories, which would significantly enhance my electromobility driving experience. I hope you're already thinking in that direction, and we'll see enhancements for BEV (battery-electric vehicles) soon.

   There're plenty of elecromobile-specific apps, but Waze is my current choice for a guidance app. As such, I am suffering because I need to switch back/forth from Waze to another app when it comes time to plan a long drive.

   If you would like to enhance our experience with Waze easily, you could partner with the two most powerful solutions, PlugShare and abetterrouteplanner.com (of course, if they agree). But I think you're big enough to believe in enhancing your app by yourself and giving us the functionality to fulfill our e-mobility needs.

   I took the liberty to draft a few user stories, which I can find very useful. Although all of them will give excellent functionality to Waze, the first one is the most important, which would position Waze as the first massively used navigation software which incorporates proper functionality for e-mobility. I hope you have plans to win this market even better.

   In any case, here're the stories. Each story has a justification/overview to it.

   As a user, I need to see charging stations on the map so that I can plan my travel accordingly

   This one is the "mother of all e-mobility" stories. Of course, it's so big that it's easily epic, but shortly said, we, the users, need a way to see the charging stations on the map.

   The distinguished properties of each charger on the map should be like those below:

     name: "Awesome charger" # The name of the charging station, user free-form
     owner: "EVPoint" # the charging station owner
     description: "Please use our apps, available at our home page https://evpoint.bg/, to activate the charger."
     max-power: 150 # the maximum power, in kW, of the whole station. Sometimes people use only this parameter to judge the power delivery speed, but often it's necessary to have granulation per socket.
     connectors: # Lists all charging connectors available at the station. This is a good reference for it: https://evcharging.enelx.com/resources/blog/552-ev-charging-connector-types
       - CCS2: # CCS2 charging connectors at the station
           - count: 2 # two CCS2 charging connectors
           - max-power: 75 # 75 kW max power each
       - CHADEMO: # Chademo connectors at the station
           - count: 1 # one Chademo connector
           - max-power: 50 # 50 kW max power 
   

   The description might seem optional, but without it we will need a place to know the URL from which we will access the charging app. Usually, most of the manufacturers have their specific apps. So any particular data on how to access the station services is put in this field.

   A very important part of this functionality is the filters. When a BEV travels a long distance, we usually use the fact DC-chargers. These give us a charge for approx 100-150 miles (150-250 km) in 10-20 minutes. Most of these chargers are located near (or directly as part of) existing gas stations.

   As part of an MVP, I would accept the first four fields, with the ability to filter by max-power. However, an "MVP-2" stage with the connectors property, and the ability to filter by their type, will be a must since not all cars support all connectors. For example, a TESLA might have its own connector only, and my car has only CCS2 for DC charging.

   As a user, I would like to enter my BEV range so that Waze helps me plan longer rides

   This is a must if I could use Waze as my assistant for BEV travels. My vehicle has a range (let's simplify this for now - just a number of km or miles in my account).

   Based on this range, Waze could show me in a friendly way, directly over my travel map, where my coverage ends. Then I can zoom in, choose a suitable charging station, and plan my ride accordingly (see below). For this, Waze has to have support for more than one Stops (I think right now you allow only one stop, but even this would do, for an MVP, it's more than OK).

   As a user, I need better support for community-driven charging station data and status

   The community feedback is critical since the map is not yet saturated with chargers. Thus, having the ability to rate/comment on each charging station is a functionality that I use very often. When I plan my trip, I usually avoid chargers, where the community says "broken." And when a charger comes back online, the community is very fast to indicate this.

   The best way to leave feedback is to indicate if any user had a successful charging session. A simple Yes/No would do. The system can then calculate an overall rating per charger and display it in a Rating section. The written feedback from each user can also be displayed there (if there's such a given with the "Charge-successful/unsuccessful" rate).

10. Correct Multi window (currently pauses)

    Can you please allow waze to work correctly in multi window mode.Android 7.1.1 if you have Waze open in a multi-window configuration, it wouldn't actually work as expected. As long as it had focus and was the last app you interacted with, Waze would work as expected, updating your location and orientation on the map. But if you interacted with another app in multi-window, Waze would stop updating until you go back to it.

    Similar issue with Google maps which just got fixed:

11. Be able to actively switch Toll roads on or off in Apple CarPlay app.

    Hi,

    Like Google Maps in Australia, within Apple CarPlay, you are able to navigate to a settings page, where you can turn on or off a host of functions.

    One of which, is a toggle to avoid Toll Roads.

    This feature would be very handy, as its the only thing stopping me from using the application as my main map system.

    Knowing if a vehicle is stopped on the road or on the shoulder is critical. This information could be life-saving. We recommend updating your navigation app to include this feature.

13. Improve routing server system

    Help customers by giving consistent, high-quality service through your routing server.
    I am a long-time user of Waze and I live in Dayton, Ohio. In more than one quarter of my travels, Waze fails with a "routing server timeout" not just once each time, but repeatedly until I stop trying. Grrrrr.
    The failure rate is even higher when I travel outside of the Dayton area. Please fix your service or redesign the routing server logic.
    - On long trips, I have to select smaller subsets of my route in order to receive traffic-based guidance.
    Then I have to enter the next subset of my route in order to receive traffic-based guidance, and so on toward my eventual destination.
    - If you redesign your service you can avoid this bad level of service by doing just what I have to do (but you can do it within Waze's logic):
    - Assemble and return the results from multiple subsets of the requested journey, with no failure and no annoying message to frustrate customers.

14. Please give the ability to turn off the "carpool" button

    The carpool button is the bane of my Waze existence. Whenever I pick up my phone from the little pocket area in the car and Waze is running, it triggers this "carpool" button. Then it takes both hands to swipe from the far left side of the screen to make it go away. I won't ever use the carpool function and would love to be able to hide it and stop this from happening. I know it sounds trivial, but it's maddening to deal with.

15. Semaphore optimization of speed, driving time and fuel economy.

    To drive faster and keep fuel try to know the semaphore timing.
    In this case can advise drive slower or faster (if possible) to drive non-stop in the semaphore green corridor, when possible.

16. STOP THE TRAIN button

    Besides the great idea for navigating around blocked crossings, how about when YOU are stuck on the RR and you can't get off? Press the STOP THE TRAIN (button within WAZE, or a stand alone app). A message is sent off to DOT.GOV and the RR. Hopefully the RR operation center can get the the signal changed withing a few minutes. I am making a suggestion to them at rrswebinquiries@dot.gov so they could develop this app and the needed database of locations codes by position.

17. report something when u park. While driving u can't report accidents etc

    While driving today I couldn't report a accident. When I finally stop or parked I still can't report it bc I'm not on that road. Make it so I can still report something by touching the spot where the problem was.

19. Preview the " Leave Later " routes & modify " Add Stop ".

    When planning a day of adventuring, sometimes I may already know how to get to my 1st destination, after that it is all up to GPS navigation !

    LEAVE LATER:
    I like to know ( and find it helpful ) what the routes between destinations will look like, especially if it full day or days of travelling.
    Eg; I will leave home and arrive at Point A without GPS, let's see where I'll be travelling through to get from Point A -> B, B -> C etc
    Unfortunately, as many times as I have checked over the years, everytime I try to view that by using " Leave Later " but it isn't available - the starting point is always from current location, with no way to change.

    ADD STOP:
    This option is frustrating when on the road. Or planning multiple stop destinations. Unable to make consecutive multiple destination points, or even adding a stop somewhere without it being registered as completely separate travels.
    It would be significantly more functional if able to modify ( like Google Maps ).
    Eg; be able to set routes consecutively
    from Leaving Point -> Point A -> Point B -> Point C ... but while on the road travelling a food break is now required between Point A & B, " add stop / search along route " for Food. Navigation would show a seamless transition from Travelling -> Food -> Point B -> Point C etc.

    This ends up with me using Google Maps for the trip instead, which I tend to avoid as I much prefer Waze. Keep up the awesome work ! 😊😊

20. BEACON FUNCTIONS

    Create a new menu with several options for the beacon function: pedestrian walking along the road, cyclist, slow heavy vehicle, or stopped car. Currently, this option does not exist.

    When a vehicle stops, it could be beaconed and detected by other vehicles, without the need for the driver who sees it to manually navigate the Waze menu to report it — making it much safer.

    Another option would be for cyclists or pedestrians to beacon themselves, so that other vehicles would receive a warning signal when approaching a cyclist or pedestrian who is moving at a slower speed and could be at risk of being rear-ended.

    Another use case could be for beaconing large vehicles, such as special transport trucks moving at low speeds, helping to avoid rear-end collisions by alerting approaching vehicles.
