Connect Waze to sireneradar.com to let Waze show a warning of an approaching emergency vehicle.
In the Netherlands we have the sireneradar.com initiative. Most emergency services are connected to this system.
The location of the police/fire/ambulance-vehicle is reported realtime to the platform, That data is available to navigation vendors like TomTom and Flitsmeister, and they sound and display a warning to their users for an approaching emergency vehicle.
This way the Waze users get an early warning, so they can be extra alert when they need to.

Vehicle NOT “car” on side of road
Recent changes to the hazard reporting system has it calling a vehicle on the side of the road always a car, but the majority of the time it’s not a car it seems. Why did it change from vehicle on side of road to car on side of road? It’s like the folks at Waze have never seen a truck.

Easier access to vehicle type
As a motorcycle rider and a private car driver I often change the vehicle type setting from car to motorcycle and vice versa.
My suggestion is to have this setting available in one or two clicks and while navigating as well (in case you started navigating with the wrong type of vehicle)1 vote -
One Touch for vehicle stopped on shoulder
For me 9 out of 10 hazard reports are a vehicle stopped on the shoulder. It takes 3 taps. I suggest to create a new button on the main screen that does the report in one tap only - like a macro. It will be safer and easie

More elaborate vehicle choice
It would be really perfect to be able to choose the type of private vehicle, such as a car + cart. As a result, the speed limits change and so does the journey time. It would be perfect if the approximate cost of the toll also changed based on the number of axles, for example car + trolley with 3 total axles and the toll increases.

First of all, I would like to thank you for the excellent app that is Waze. It helps me a lot.
Next, to make it even more helpful, I’d like to suggest something many users have already mentioned: adding the option to set the vehicle size, so it can also be used with heavy vehicles.1 vote -
Add a wireless OBD2 sensor for additional vehicle safety information
Suggest adding a wireless Bluetooth OBD2 device (BlueDriver or OBDLink MX+) so Waze can access safety features from your vehicle such as:
1. Blind spot warning
2. Accidental lane departure
3. Show when turn signals are on - for those that forget - optional beep after 5 seconds and before my wife says “YOUR BLINKERS ON!!!”

Screen dimming or even shutdown when the vehicle stops
Wase. Please create a screen dimming (or even shutdown) when the vehicle stops and automatically reactivate when moving again. This would be very good for nature (energy saving) and for increasing privacy and security inside the vehicle.

Green (Electirc Vehicle) on HOV
Hello Devs,
I am currently in Ontario. I drive an electric vehicle (with plate something like GVXX 123).
In Ontario, as far as I am aware of, all Electric Vehicles are eglible to use the HOV even if there's only the driver on the vehicle. I believe in British Colmbia is the same.By default, even if I have my vehicle type set as "Electric", Waze still try to navigate me outside HOV/Avoid HOV all together.

Replace "Police" with "Emergency Vehicle"
Just an idea to protect our police officers Waze should just list emergency vehicles. This would let me the user know I should approach with caution and would protect our police, fire, etc. from any misuse of our information. Thanks! Maybe also create a Rideshare group. :)

Recognise when I’m behind a very slow moving vehicle and offer a New route around this vehicle
I suggest adding a feature that detects when I'm driving much slower than the speed limit on a road. The app could then ask if I'm in heavy traffic or behind a very slow-moving vehicle. If it's the latter, like being stuck behind a garbage truck making frequent stops, the app could suggest alternative routes to bypass the slow vehicle and reach my destination faster.

Knowing if a vehicle is stopped on the road or on the shoulder is critical. This information could be life-saving. We recommend updating your navigation app to include this feature.
