HOV lanes: Specifically on Long Island Expressway.
This is about the HOV lane on the Long Island Expressway in NY.
During off peak hours, Waze ALWAYS directs you into the HOV lane.
1) The HOV is one lane as opposed to 3 or 4 lanes on the main road. During off peak it's not usually faster.
2)The main problem with this, is when Waze "thinks" you're in the HOV, all notifications for Police, emergency vehicles, etc. stop unless someone in the HOV lane makes the report. That even goes for when the Police are hiding on the left shoulder on the left of the HOV.

advance direction when exiting a highway
When exiting the highway it would be SO helpful to announce the next direction much much earlier. For example, in ½ a mile, exit roselle road and stay to the right or stay to the left to exit. We have three plus lane exits and waze is telling me too late which lane to be in after exiting. Thanks!

Express Lanes - Avoid Express Lanes option
A nice feature would be a setting to avoid Express Lanes, like the ones on I95 (I-95) that require the EZ-Pass. Currently the only way to do this is to enable "Avoid Toll Roads." However this makes my route avoid the tunnel or bridge that I DO want to use. Avoiding the tunnel or bridge would add 20 or more minutes to my drive.
Basically, separate out the luxury Express Lanes from toll roads and create another setting for them.
Thank you.49 votesThank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze offers HOV routing for taxis. To change your vehicle type go to Settings > Vehicle type. There are currently no plans to add more HOV options.

Hazards and notices divided by location first on visual representation
Median, left shoulder, lane 1, lane 2, ..., right shoulder, off road, all visually represented when "Notice" button pressed.
At-a-glance identification reduces number of options needed in following menu, without adding additional screen, by changing the order.

Have a quick log in that first responders can log in to list accidents lane closures and length of time of accident.
Give first responders a quick and easy way to log in and give details on lane closers and length of time lanes will be closed. This is for the safety of the motorist and the emergency personnel on scene. Would also help if we could look and see how far traffic is backed up.

Record traffic warnings
How about the option to record our warnings? "There's a large piece of wood in the center lane." "There's an eighteen-wheeler on the right shoulder." "Everyone has to move to the left lane to go around construction."
Then, Waze would notify us - "Hazard reported one-half mile ahead - [playback recorded warning]."
Two things would be accomplished - the warning would be very specific, and it would require less attention diverted from driving.6 votes -
Ghost driver alert
A new alert would be interesting to have to alert drivers on a specific route that a ghost driver is coming their way and that they should be cautious, maybe telling them to stay in a lane and to reduce their speed.

Avoid express lanes
It would be nice to be able to turn off Express Lanes, with the same toggle switch as the "Avoid Toll Roads" option. I almost never have passengers in my car, and therefore cannot ever take the Express Lanes, but the app keeps directing me to them. Express Lanes also occasionally have different exiting options, so it can sometimes change your entire route and make you miss exits you needed to take.
147 votesGreat news! The option to disable HOV lanes is now available in Waze. Install the latest app version to check it out.

Differ the blocked lane pictogram visible on the map in dependence on which lane is blocked (right, left or middle).
It will help with selection of proper side of the road in advance.

Have an option to adjust the maximum speed limit to account for company speed limits. Working for Hallcon, I can only drive 55 mph at night
Have an option to adjust the maximum speed limit to account for company speed limits. Working for Hallcon, I can only drive 55 mph at night on a two-lane road, 65 mph during the day on a two-lane road, and a maximum of 70 mph for any road. I would like to be able to put this in settings, so that Waze can come up with a better route and ETA for me. I do not like being sent down two-lane roads at night going 55 mph when I could be going down a highway at 67…

Names assigned recently for some existing public lanes by East York council in Toronto
I'm a collge journalist student. On September 16, 2019 the council approved to add names of people and other historical aspects of Toronto to some existing public lanes for people to easily navigate to and had 2 street closures..
I'll add the info here for the update but in return I would appreciate a quote for my article which really will help me graduate since I'm in my final year.
What is the process of getting you navigation system updated and how long will it take?
This is from the offical government website and each change has its own…

Bus land alert for london UK and street restrictions of timings
Waze need to show when ever rider is about to reach bus lane or on a roade where bus lane is there , remind to avoid being in the bus lane.
It would be very helpful if shows restrictions before entering any street like .. 7 to 9 am we cannot enter like this . It would really impact a lot on driver skills.

50cc 45km/h Scooter navigation
I’d love to have a scooter navigation, that knows what the traffic situation looks like and that gives you the exact route. I live in the Netherlands and 45km/h scooters often need to switch between de cycling lane and the car lane, so it would be nice if the navigation would give you the exact route including when you need to switch from one lane to the other. First try this for the Netherlands as we drive a load of scooters and cycle a lot, and because of this, our traffic signs are good to follow which makes it…

MORE navigation options, in addition to shorter time or distance
I would LOVE for waze to have multiple options for routes. For instance :
Standard options:
- shortest distance
- shortest time
Standard avoids :
- avoid toll roads
- avoid highwaysNew ones:
- least turns
- least traffic lights ;New avoiding routes:
- avoid construction routes
- avoid one lane streets
- avoid streets with traffic moving slower thanAll of these should be able to mix and match and specify further details. For instance it would be great if it showed option to list trips within X percent of time to shortest time trip. It can…

Feature Suggestion for Toll Payment Navigation in Malaysia Dear Waze Team, I’m Mr. Chua Wey Choong from Malaysia (User ID: RyanChuaaaaaaaa
Dear Waze Team,
Currently, when approaching a toll plaza, many drivers are unsure where the RFID, SmartTAG, or cash lanes are located. This often leads to last-minute lane changes, causing traffic congestion and, at times, dangerous situations.
Suggestions for Improvement:
Toll Logo on the MapWhen a driver is approaching a toll plaza, display a small toll logo on the map to indicate its presence.
Alternatively, provide a small pop-up notification when nearing a toll.
Lane Positioning for RFID UsersShow a box displaying the approximate position of the RFID lane (e.g., "RFID is at lane 9/10") when a…
