On Apple car play the map does not switch to night mode. I have to force it in to night mode by opening Waze on my iPhone whilst it’s plugged in to the cars usb port. This is a bug as up until last week night mode worked in car play.

Zoom - integrated car displays (Android Auto)
The zoom functionality is awful currently when using Android Auto with an in-car display. Google maps allows easy zooming using the rotatable knob (identical and in line with volume on a VW). Can this become a feature for Waze?? It's so distracting and dangerous trying to zoom when driving, a quick turn either way (like Google maps has) will be much better.

Waze to take electric car battery status into account
I love using Waze, but ever since I have an electric car I need to switch to the car's own navigation system (which is not so good and efficient as Waze). Reason for doing is the fact that the car navigation takes the car battery status into account and calculates a stop-point to recharge the battery. Waze doesn't do this. Meaning, when I would use Waze I would need to use a second app or platform to check where probably I can or need to re-charge the battery. This is not so convenient. X-Wing Car Icon
Years ago, before iPhones had Nav apps, I had a TomTom. My TomTom had an X-Wing Fighter Car Icon. Any thoughts to having one for Waze?

Car height option in settings
Add a extra setting on car height because it can be a variable like with a roofbox. So you can adapt your route depending height restrictions (tunnels or parkings)

WaterWaze - River Safety
I am a kayaker and I know I see a LOT of folks on Facebook trying to figure out where items of importance/danger are on their paths - sweepers (trees that have fallen over the water but not gone under), strainers (trees that have fallen into the water, and other debris, as well as places that are good to put-in and take out, or such places that might not be accessible anymore. Warn oncoming traffic for ALL events
We cannot warn the oncoming users for all of the issues they can meet on the road.. Speed checks it's ok, but not the traffic jams or for the cars that have to stop on the side of the road for instance...

Purchase Car icons
I think Google/Waze is missing an opportunity to cross market and build more revenue. Waze should offer users to purchase (0.99) themed car icons, i.e., Jeep Wrangler, Star Wars, Batman, etc. There are endless options for cross marketing and revenue here...

Display the name of the town/City that i am currently driving through.
Simply Display In some small way, the name of the town I am currently driving in. Sometimes it would be nice to know the name of the town I currently am driving through, Ie. because some police departments use different types of cars, colors etc. If I knew the name of the town I was in... I would know what to look for. Or simply if I am even in the town of my destination. There are multiple reasons this could be useful. Track my car's vitals; build database for community benefits
This is a big idea, no small undertaking I know. I'd like to combine my GPS app with the functionality of an app like Gas Cubby, which tracks my MPG at every fill-up and alerts me when my car is due for maintenance.
Here's how I envision it:

Midpoint
It’s called midpoint. You put in your starting location and the other persons starting location. You then search for a place you wanna meet up, and it calculates where the middle ground is (you can also make it someone drives more than another if you want). Put in the time you wanna meet up, it tells you when to go. When you start the drive, you can alert the other person you are on the way, and the other person can respond w the same. Show toll roads routes also in Car play
On the route options on iOS you see if a route option has a toll road, in Apple Car Play you don’t see this.

Speed Limit Alerts for Commercial Vehicles
In the UK speed limits for public light goods (commercial) vehicles are different, so for example on national speed-limit A-roads, cars are allowed to do 60mph, but commercial vehicles like panel vans, can only do 50mph. It’s to do with the increased payloads they potentially carry.
This differential isn’t catered for in the app, so when it’s set to alert when the speed limit is reached, a van driver in many cases is actually 10mph over which is enough of a margin to receive an endorsement in the UK.

Add a boat or submarine to the My Car icons. We were on the lake this weekend and my little blue car was driving around on the water!! I wasn't trying anything fancy, just trying to track where we were as we puttered around.
