1. Would like carpool system for non-commute activities

   We need a way to connect people in carpools who are going to the same hike or outing, or perhaps a concert or performance. Different from a commute carpool in that each occasion is unique.
   People in outdoor organizations care about their carbon footprint, yet unless they are actual friends with someone they usually don’t have a way to arrange rides or carpooling.
   
   It would be great to be able to have each club sponsor/pay for Waze and enable all their members planning to go on a specific outing to connect with each other to arrange to carpool. Setting up carpools on a public app or site seems riskier to people, sometimes older/retired.
   
   Examples:
   A scheduled Audubon Society outing to a specific site, to which people come from one or two counties such as Santa Clara and San Mateo.
   A scheduled MROSD or OSA walk at a park or open space preserve.
   A theater performance or concert that attracts people from several miles away and which may not be easy to do by public transport - think of finishing at 10.30 pm and then trying to get a CalTrain or a bus, plus walking to your house at that late hour.
   The Loma Prieta Chapter of the Sierra Club sets specific carpool points and many of its hikers expect this. But other groups do not find this as easy to do. For instance, if the outing were taking place along the Bay side, there are no park & ride lots, and so it’s difficult to set up central carpool locations. If 2 or 3 people connected and agreed to meet at the house of the person nearest to the outing site, already we’ve saved several miles of one person/one car driving.

2. Pet Waze

   Hi there! During these difficult times, I find that I feel better when I walk my dogs, although, others have that same idea! I was wondering if it is feasible to make a Pet Waze so others know where to avoid and be healthy! Also, after the pandemic is finally over (more or less), where other Wazers are like for traffic to let others know where is the best walk or don't go that route for some reason (also to have ads for just pet owners!). Just an idea that I have been thinking about as I take walks with my dogs, trying to be socially aware! Thank you for your time!

3. Parking spot

   The find your car when you cannot remember where you parked is a great idea! I’ve needed it a couple of times already. However, it is not working… the car is there in the map, but the directions to walk to it, do not appear in the screen. I’ve tried the only thing that seems appropriate, which is to click on the car’s icon, but the only option in there is to send your location to someone else. I wish you could make this feature a little bit more user friendly. Thank you!

4. Need for Brazilian app: new category for segment (viela) like (dirt roads)

   In Brazil government allow traffic in "viela", first "viela" is a drivable road normally between houses. At the moment this segment is categorized/translated as "pedestrian broad walk".

   I suggest that that a new type of segment is created "viela" for Brazilian app and Waze editor, since it doesn't share the same restrictions as "pedestrian broad walk".

   I also suggest the creation of a button like the existing "dirt road" since some drivers don't like to use "viela" to move arround.

6. Stop sending users going to a Summer st address to Congress st

   Boston, MA.

   I regularly use uber or lyft to get to my office at the even side of the 250-300 section Summer st, Boston, MA. For whatever reason, any driver using the waze app tries to drop me off in a back alley on Congress st. This is also true for almost every address in this section of summer street.

   The problem is that Summer street is a raised road two stories above the street level of congress street. None of the buildings in this alleyway offer public access to get to Summer st. The only way to get to Summer st on foot is to walk to the far side by the fort point channel or be a local and know about a specific public access stairwell under one of the bridges.

   • Being dropped off in this unlit alleyway is sketcy and dangerous at certain times of day
   • It adds a huge amount of time for me personally to walk such a huge extra distance just to get into my building.
   • Anyone being dropped off here not familiar with the area is basically stranded since they wont know about the stairwell or how to get around.

7. 2 offers: navigation and user play journey

   Hi, my name is Nirit and I have 2 suggestions for you:

   Offer 1# - a feature that allows a faster route to the destination
   I want to reach my destination, but it is not always important for me to reach exactly the specific number on the specific side of the street.

   That is, I don't mind walking a few meters and parking on the side opposite the destination, or near the destination further down the street - especially when the other side or a few meters nearby will save me time and allow me a faster route, for example less congested to the destination.

   I imagine such an option will be reflected in a button or even a slide that allows me to choose how far from the destination I am willing to stop, perhaps even according to the estimated timing and the time I can save.

   In any case, knowing that I saved myself a few seconds or minutes is so relevant to a user in a hurry, who may miss his turn or arrive late to an important meeting... Sometimes I find myself saying to myself: "If only I had arrived one second earlier..."

   Offer 2# - Competition
   Who hasn't, who drove with Waze's route proposal and wanted to listen to his gut, to his intuition, maybe even get smarter and show Waze that he was wrong and here I have an even better, faster route, even if it's faster by one second..

   This game against Waze against an application that is uploaded with the help of algorithms and computer calculations can be saturated with passion, or a good reason to enjoy another boring drive. A game that gives me the ride, maybe also, while worrying about taking a risk - a risk that allows me, maybe, to beat Waze (the greatest of them all) - and even challenge it!

   From here before driving, the app asks me if I want to play. If I decided to play, each game entitles me as a user of points... You can also compete with the best like me, other users, etc. And here in the field of gaming... the sky is the limit!

8. Indicate Pet Friendly (Or Not Friendly) Areas or Gas Stations

   Today, I stopped at a gas station called Snappy Foods in Townsend, GA off of I-95 (on GA-57) to get gas and allow my dogs to relieve themselves. After pumping and paying for gas, I attempted to walk my dogs in the only grass area away from the road between the convenience store and the Motel 8 when the gas station employee came out and told me I could not walk my dogs there, I had to take them by the busy roadway and when I refused for safety reasons, I was told "if you don't like it, you can leave." There were no signs posted to alert customers to this. So I left after the confrontation with this man and found a small park on the other side of the highway, but the park had "no pets" signs posted everywhere. It would be nice if Waze could indicate areas that are pet friendly or those that are not pet friendly to help travelers avoid being yelled at by rude men.

9. Hazard types needed

   We have a lot of veld fires either directly alongside the road, or where the smoke from a nearby fire blows across the road. The closest hazard type to this is fog, which is different, because flames on the shoulder are as much a hazard as the smoke causing poor visibility. It would be good to as this as a hazard type.

   We also have a lot of pedestrians that (illegally) walk along the shoulders of highways & freeways. It would be good to add this as a hazard type, along with which side of the road they're on.

10. Waze Campus Map for Universities

    This would allow students to locate and map their drive/walk to various areas on campus including dining facilities and even things like coke machines, etc. Further, most major universities have mobile apps. Allowing them to integrate with APIs would be amazing. There's a HUGE advertising opportunity here.

11. Fix Road Closure selecting

    I am a traffic controller and I try to accurately report what roads are closed for the safety of the workers and convenience of others. Most the time I can't even report the street that's closed as the app won't let me select them. It will only do main roads or the roads that are next to the road I want to select. You also have to physically be on the road to select them which is another issue as I can't really leave my post to walk to each road to select them. It's very frustrating. If I could just draw on the screen the roads that are closed life would be so much easier. I would add a photo to show the problem but it doesn't seem to give that option here on feedback. Nor does it show the date ideas were posted. That would also be helpful. 6/24/24

12. Correction to Waze Maps

    Please check your waze maps for the public entrance to Island Walk Subsivision in North Port FL. I have made this suggestion to google maps, but I use waze 99% of the time. Not sure who the Lyft Uber drivers use. But please note. There is only 1 public entrance to this development. That is the main entrance off US HWY 41. This is a 24/7 Gate Maintained Entrance. Today, my ride UBER took me to the private entrance and I did not have my device and he could not get inn. The Entrance that runs from Playmore Drive going away from the Braves training complex to Island walk circle has a get that only opens with an OWNER controlled device or decal. Cabs, Uber, Lift, Rid share cont not use this entrance.

13. Use proper German in German app

    I've downloaded the app in German and the linguistic mistakes start already in the Google Play store. Every screenshot has at least one mistake. When starting the app one gets the option to select the language: there too a mistake (instead of Deutsch = German it says Deutsche = German woman. Obviously I don't want to travel at that moment to any German woman suggested by Waze). Then I get the option to select dark or light mode. Again a mistake: instead of - h e l l - for light (colour) I can choose licht (light weight/thin). I might want to go on a diet and walk to different places instead of driving, but I don't need Waze for that. In the app there are in almost every sentence mistakes. It is clearly (lightly?) translated by some engine worse than Google translate. Here my suggestion: In the app a "correct language instantly" button and/or a link to a translation suggestion webpage. And why not offer a Pro version for free then as an incentive?

14. Time to Leave Reminder to include time for parking

    Would very great if we could add the option to configure reaching earlier (say 15 mins) before our calendar event to account for parking time? That would mean the time to leave reminder would account for the parking time and tell us to leave even earlier.

    It would make more sense if we didn't reach our destination at the time the event starts cos we wouldn't have enough time to park and walk to the event! Thanks!

15. Stop the "how can I help, one more time" feature. PLEASE! Talk to me only when spoken to.

    Every time I get out of the car if I forget to turn the app off and put my phone in the pocket pick up a bunch of heavy objects from my car and walk into a store this thing in my pocket continues to ask me "how can I help, one more time." it's driving me out of my mind and I will delete this app unless it stops talking to me on its own.

16. Bad directions in Iowa

    Used Waze to travel to the Paramount Theater in Cedar Rapids Iowa. The directions were NOT SUFFICIENT. We drove around looking for the venue for about 15 minutes before we gave up on Waze and just parked the vehicle and walked. I know this is not the correct place to report this problem, but the reporting methods suggested in "Fix a Map Issue" were not working. I guess I'm just too retarded to use Waze.

    WAZE ALERT: 1hr / 2hr parking expired move your car...

    WAZE WARNING ALERT: like the police warning but you can report a ticket officer on the streets.. if your out for a walk or lunch and can let other work employee's know to save them a nasty ticket.

18. "Leave earlier" setting that changes time to leave

    Frequently I want to "arrive" 15 minutes early so I have time to find a parking spot, park my car, and then walk to the destination.

    Because of this, I'd like to see a feature that allows me to specify an additional amount of time to add to the estimated drive time when determining what time I'll need to leave.

    Ideally, there would be a setting to enable / disable the feature, and, when enabled, applied a specified amount of time to every planned drive. There should also be an override on a per planned drive basis.

    The "Leave earlier" time setting should allow values from 5 to 30 minutes, in 5 min steps.

19. where to start, what book(s)??Industrial automation

    Hi guys, I've just registered here great forum, lot's of info.

    I'm confused as to where to start to learn from scratch, what book(s) to buy? what i am after is a industrial robot ( not hobbylike robot that just walks, way more serious )that i can design, build and program it to think and solve problems as i do in my head, it should be able to perform all sorts of tasks and choose and pick different tools for tasks respectively. I am aware that it's not going to happen for a while yet, but i would like to start learning and experimenting. There are ton's of books on amazon, but what should i get, which one is easiest to understand and quick(if there's such), how many books, what sequance to read them??

    I'm confused as to where to start to learn from scratch, what book(s) to buy? what i am after is a industrial robot ( not hobbylike robot that just walks, way more serious )that i can design, build and program it to think and solve problems as i do in my head, it should be able to perform all sorts of tasks and choose and pick different tools for tasks respectively. 20. Cannot update gas prices due to an error

    Description
    I was at a gas station and a pop-up appeared with a suggestion to update gas prices. I went through with prices and after I clicked [Publish] I got an error "You're a baby wazer, you cannot update prices yet". But I could a month ago! I checked my profile and I was a Waze Grown-up there. It's a bug of some kind, I guess.

    At this point, I would suggest showing that error BEFORE the user walks around and fills all the fields. And don't encourage to update prices if you won't accept such edits. It feels even more offensive.
    Hey, hey you, do you want to help us and other people? Yeah? Well, we won't let you! Because you're not a proper person! Ha-ha! Too bad for you.

    By the way, in settings, you can choose the fuel type for your car. Which I did, but when I search for gas stations I see all kinds of prices but not the one I chose. Weird.
