Using the smartphone's front camera for alert about driver's tiredness
In Android there is a feature named "smart stay" which allows the smartphone to recognize, using the front camera, if the user is watching the screen (in order to turn off the screen when not in use) - see

If this is possible (even partially), it can save lives.

Great benefits to bring Carpool to Guatemala: -
- Reduce the amount of cars on the road during peak hour traffic (4 am-10am) and (4pm-9pm). At this time, it is blocked to the network and can take up to 3 hours to enter and leave the capital (Guatemala City)
- Car ownership is prohibitively expensive
- Public transport is risky and not reliable.

Special calculation and result for motorcycle despite traffic jam

Sorry I do not want to create a duplicate but rather synthesize the idea (other posts talked about but are not totally clear)
It would be cool to create a special motorcycle calculation, for big towns with big traffic jam (ex. Paris-France...) :
the faster way, whatever, even if cars are bumpers to bumpers.Because even if you ride slowly between cars, it remains faster than another way (excepted if road is closed by police or whatever).

Emergency road closure.
I know that there is a feature to report closed roads but that is for long term. What I want to see is when I come around the corner and the fire department or police department has a road shut down because of an emergency it would be nice to know that the road is temporarily closed ahead by the Emergency Services.

Add quick text to road reports
Typing while driving is dangerous. However, don't you often want to add more information to a road report? Do you go ahead and type that message illegally or do you simply submit something that you know is an incomplete, ambiguous report. What if you had the option to choose from a list of common stock text modifiers to help with your reporting? What if it was possible to edit these to your specifications?

Turn off labels of streetnames while navigating
Sometimes long streetnames overlap that much of the map that large parts of the maps or even (future) instructions are not visible anymore on the map.
I would like to see an option to disable the streetname flags on the map while navigating.

When you driving on a average speed zone
When you driving on a average speed zone than your left green panel what is showing the distance from average speed zone should show the speed too and the panel should change to red if the speed is more than the allowed average speed Also it should check the speed between one camera to the second one and not just from the first and last camera

iOS 9 Location Services
As much as I am a fan of Waze, I am NOT a fan of a drained iPhone that is dead and prevents me from getting my Waze fix. With that said-
Adding the 3rd (And MOST favored) option of "WHILE USING" to the Location Services options is the only drawback I keep seeing with Waze. It seems if and when it gets added, the update only erases the option. And we are back to having drained iPhones ... AGAIN. :(33 votes -
Option to automatically disable WiFi
When transitioning from WiFi to 3G or vice versa, Waze often loses a connection and becomes useless, requiring us to restart the app. I imagine this would be a problem for anyone who drives by a wireless network that they use often (home, work, school, etc.) This could be avoided by giving the user the option to automatically disable WiFi connections within Waze. This option would prevent users from having to disable WiFi before starting Waze every time.

ambulance
What if the ambulance drivers was using Waze as well and I got a message or a siren on my waze as the ambulance approached the location where I was. I would know that there was an ambulance coming on my way and i could pull over in order to let it pass through.
I have no idea about Waze database, but I am sure it is not small. I believe it could be very helpfull to all parties: ambulance would reach hospital fasters; patients would not have the risk to be in traffice and get treatment faster; driver would…

Traffic lights navigation
Mostly in cities, sometimes I'm used to get navigation guidance from people, telling me to "turn right at the 3rd traffic light ahead" or "turn left at the next junction ahead". I think such navigation method - by counting road & infrastructure elements, rather than calculating distance - could be useful and preferable for some people. It may require initially mapping all these road elements in order to enable it... I believe its worthwhile :)

"Stop running in the background" switch on iOS
Hi. I found that Waze continues to run and use GPS and 3G signal while backgrounded on the iPhone. This is catastrophic in our country for two reasons: 1. It keeps the phone very hot. 2. it uses data at about 0.15 USD/MB, thereby ticking down your data and using up your money. You have to explicitly turn it off or explicitly quit the app. There should be a switch that says, and is by default, set to "Do not run or use data or GPS in the background". Personal statistics
Would be nice to get stats about your personal routes : average travel time between your first 2 or 3 destinations, average waze error on ETA (accuracy and precision - see wikipedia for the difference), time you spend driving per day, number of wazers you cross... one can invent all sort of fun and useful statistics.

Password Complexity
I would like to be able to use a more complex password. Currently, only three complexity levels are allowed: A, a, and 0-9. This security level is far too vulnerable given the sensitive information with in the app, eg addresses, phone numbers, etc. Please consider allowing several different character useage like punctuation, special characters, ASCII, ect. The modification should not be too difficult. Instead of defining what is allowed in the string just define the string to accept anything with the exception of min-max number of characters.

Bring back "All Reports"
Please bring back the "All Reports" functionality. This feature existed in the original Waze interface but was removed in the newest iteration (as of October 2015).
I used the All Reports tab to keep track of nearby accidents, police officers, and hazards before and during every trip. It was the tool I regularly used to get an overview of what my morning and evening commutes would look like, as I travel over 50 miles each way to work.
