Adding offline map support and better gps hardware capabilities
The big and obvious one, is to add support for offline maps, it’s such a big feature and yet such a common feature in almost all maps, such as google maps and even Apple Maps is getting it this year. But also supporting dual frequency gps on apple devices. Currently the only Apple iPhones that have this hardware are the iPhone 14 pro and iPhone 14 pro max, which consists of the legacy L1 frequency but also the modernised L5 frequencies. Offline navigation improvements
Currently there are some limitations to navigation while in offline mode. Whilst some are understandable, not being able to see real-time closures, for instance, the biggest problem with offline mode as it stands just now is the cached roads don't seem to respect the segment data that may restrict travel along them.
As a member of the community has found (https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2324443#p2324443) when navigating offline, even 24/7 restrictions in place on the map do not get respected and the user gets directed through them.

Floating map like google maps
It would be so much easier for work. I am currently working as a driver. Waze has way better routes than Google maps but the downside is that I have to close the navigation if I want to check my work app. Unfortunately because of this inconvenience I'm forced to use Google maps.

Add mile markers to client maps
I travel on a lot of open stretches and would like to see an option for mile markers on waze maps. If no per mile, maybe every 5 miles or so. Good to sync the maps and also nice if someone were to need assistance along a desolate road with no references. In which case, you could scroll along the map to see which mile marker you were closest to.

Downloading offline direction or how city and country
Hi,
When i go somewhere outside my home country, first I want to download the choice route and than to only type the country ir town and download the whole map.
So when I'm online again or having wi-fi to update with the latest updates.
I don't like offline downloading process of Google Maps but this is the only source of truth for me so far.

Lack of downloaded maps
I have personally experienced the total letdown of Waze when driving into a region with no cellular coverage. A friend of mine has had a similar experience. Waze doesn’t store its maps on my Android. That’s unbelievable! For many years I’ve used Garman GPS receivers with no letdown on the road due to the fact that the map database is stored in the device. Do you really consider this an acceptable level of navigation reliability? I’m counting on Waze and it fails me when I’m in strange territory. Combine waze and google maps
It would be better to allocate servers for long trips as well. It would make Waze better. Also, why not incorporate the waze reporting and crowdsourcing features into Google maps? I would even pay a monthly subscription for that.

Online rather than offline
Fabulous map when compared with other maps. However, online updates if you get on the go then no other maps can get closer.

Use another source for the maps (other than google maps)
I see that for some,the fun in waze is making and editing the map, thats cool. but in the area im in, there arent many users of waze, and there are a lot of streets. and there have been times (infact every time so far) where i have set a destination, only for it to not be found.
Some apps (mapquest) use openstreetmap maps (http://openstreetmaps.org). Do their terms of service fit better with waze terms of service?
as i understand it, that is why google maps arent used as a base.

Notifications when screen off, like Google Maps
Google Maps has a very practical feature for travelers who frequently use the same route over and over: Turn your phone screen off, and you'll be notified whenever turns are coming up. If you know the route, maybe it's a long one and you just want to be reminded not to miss turns, it's really useful to have these notifications.

Save location maps by custom folders & sub-folders
I think I have hit the limit in saving space for Waze location maps. I like to introduce custom folders for saving locations by country > state > district > areas.
