Umweltzone/environmental zones
In many countries in Europe environment zones are popping up. In these zones you can only drive if you have a sticker showing your car create less pollution than certain levels.
For instance, inner München is off-limit to older diesel cars.
You should be able in the app to indicate what label, if any, your car have, then not be routed into forbidden areas.

New platform: Firefox OS
Firefox OS (formerly boot-to-Gecko) is a soon-to-be-released platform for low-end smartphones for emerging markets. It combines a stripped-down Android base (called Gonk) with Gecko (the Firefox render engine) and Gaia, a client layer written entirely in HTML5. The Mozilla Foundation is making some apps available for the commercial release, including HERE Maps, created by Nokia, but HERE is not a very good mapping solution, it lacks turn-by-turn navigation and the interface is overall a mess. Google, you're supposed to not be evil. But demanding access to all my contacts before letting me use the app is evil. Stop it.
And making me add an email address to make a comment is just an asshole move, which is what the contact requirement is, incidentally.

Please add an Electric Motorcycle vehicle type!
You have an option for Electric Vehicles, and for Motorcycles. But what about Electric Motorcycles?! I have a 2021 Zero SR/S - but there are many other models and brands of electric motorcycles now - LiveWire, Energica, Sondors, Surron, etc! Zero has been making electric motorcycles for ~13 years now in CA. Right now I have to choose whether I want EV relevant info, or motorcycle relevant info in the Waze app. Please consider adding a Electric Motorcycle vehicle type for us lucky users, in this growing market segment!

Waze's own chat
I was picking up my little brother yesterday and in the meanwhile i noticed that if i didnt have to switch between whatsapp and waze in order to chat with people not interested in waze, it would be even cooler!
I mean. I may log in so i could contact "a friend" that i know is connected to waze for example, just to chat. Weather Icons instead of Hazard Icons on Map
Weather reports show up as Hazard icons. While it does say what the weather condition is below, it is not easy to read if you are driving in bad weather. It would be nice to see weather icons reported by other Waze users.

Change Vehicle profile by connected Bluetooth
I am using my device for navigation by car and motorcycle and I regularly forget to change the vehicle type.
I would love to have a feature that depending on what Bluetooth device is connected to the phone the vehicle type would be automatically set to the appropriate one.30 votes -
Lost Pet Section
How many times has your heart gone out to a dog lost at an intersection? What if you could help reunite the owner with two clicks of a button?
With Waze Lost Pet section, it is that easy.
Adding to the possible list categories, an option for Lost Pets would allow users to prevent accidents, reunite owners with missing pets, and even impact their local shelters by relieving some of the burden of overpopulation.

I'd like to share with you an idea I recently had to try to increase Waze user engagement with the app. Launch an NFT that will be linked to the points that are fetched in the app.

To stop WAZE from automatically shutting down
Could it be possible to keep WAZE active, until the user closes the app down. Ok here is what WAZE has done for years. You activate waze, put in your route and go. You then minimize Waze. Waze happily stays active if you are on the move. BUT become stuck in traffic, Waze will just shutdown. Could Waze be designed to not shutdown the app if minimised, when you are stuck in traffic. It is so annoying. You won't realise Waze is shutdown unless you look at your phone screen and fire Waze back up again, which well then say…

Improve routing server system
Help customers by giving consistent, high-quality service through your routing server.
I am a long-time user of Waze and I live in Dayton, Ohio. In more than one quarter of my travels, Waze fails with a "routing server timeout" not just once each time, but repeatedly until I stop trying. Grrrrr.
The failure rate is even higher when I travel outside of the Dayton area. Please fix your service or redesign the routing server logic.
- On long trips, I have to select smaller subsets of my route in order to receive traffic-based guidance.

Display shield AND road name in the app
Please consider displaying one or more shields along with a road name in the app. Ideally, we could have the option to display more than one shield, but at least one would be very helpful. Other nav apps already do this today.

Instead of adding a Pause button, ask what we are stopping for.
When stopped and it asks if you are in traffic, if the answer is no, let us tell you what we are stopped for. Also, if we go off route, ask if we are leaving our route for bathroom, food, gas, etc. Once we get back in the car, based on where we are, let us tell you where we stopped, and rate it. If for food, let us rate it and integrate the rating with Yelp. If bathroom, let us rate the quality of the restroom overall and if it is family friendly. I have been on the road…

Wazer message notifications (i.e. private messages) need to be more visible to be effective
In the Past few days I've "private messaged" wazers who were ahead of me on a route to find out about traffic conditions or a slow downs. These messages went unanswered. I didn't think anything of it at the time.
