CarPlay Alert Buttons
When using CarPlay the alert buttons that pop up are thin and vertically stacked. With the motion of the car these are very hard to hit accurately. I believe about half of my Thanks or Not There button presses are wrong. Switch to Taller side by side buttons. There is generally less horizontal motion of the car, and this should result in fewer errors.

Speed Camera Distance Notification
Using Waze on my iPhone 14 I have noticed that although the position of the camera relative to my car icon is correct & accurate, distance notification pop-up is always about 150-175 yards out. As I pass the camera the countdown continues from 150 yards to zero !!
It's rather annoying that Waze is still showing the distance after I have passed the camera !! The location of the cameras are always correct relative to the arrow representing my car.
Also tried Waze on my car android head unit, and see the same error.
I have a screenshot of the…

Review distance traveled for previous trips
I need to submit the distance I drove to the airport last week. Due to heavy traffic, Waze had me take back roads. I cannot look up the distance traveled on this alternate route.

Sleep alert
Dimming screen at not noticeable rate over an period and turn to maximum screen brightness. Create a shock to user, remind user to stay awake.
Or simply voice alert to remind sleepy driver.
And make it an option to turn the feature off.

Audible alert needed to detour
Detour alerts need to be spoken; when driving we cannot always stop & read the alert until it is too late & are stuck in stopped traffic.

A more credible alert...
The following factors would give a "certainty" rating to each report:
* Number of wazers ahead of me (within .5-2 miles)
* Number of minutes since the alert was posted
* Number of "thanks" attached to report
* Whatever logic Waze uses to determine more credible users...15 votes -
Sound Alert for Nearby Reports
Say someone made a report using Waze. But you don't look at the phone constantly. It would be nice to hear a sound alert through the phone, letting you know that there is a Report (be it an accident, police, etc...) upcoming or nearby.

Adding distance and time till the cross border
It would be great, if the user picks a route that crosses the border, than the application shows additionally the approximate time and distance till the border and not only the time and distance till the end point.
It's due to the fact that crossing some borders it self take additional time, and that the prices for fuel differ in different countries. It would help managing when you need to refill the car, and in which country.
Just two numbers: time till border, distance till border.

toll booth alert off switch
Ability to turn off Toll Booth alert
99.9% of the time, I am driving the same roads as I'm sure most users are. That means I know where the toll booths are. In my area, they aren't booths, just cameras. The lanes don't get narrow or slow down. There are good signs that toll cameras are ahead. The alert from Waze is just a nuisance and there is no option to turn it off like all of the other alert types.
10 votesGreat news! The option to turn off toll booths alert is now available in Waze. Install the latest app version to check it out.

Add police alert on nearby roads
If the alert (police, traffic jam) is not on the road Waze users are driving on, there is no way to indicate that. For example if I drive on a road that is near a highway and there is an accidant on the highway there is no way to report it.
It would be nice to let users tap on the map to indicate the place of the alert. If no tap, it means that the place of the alert is the actual place.10 votes -
Pedestrian alert
Jack Huffman will be running for charity and a world record. Can we alert drivers of his whereabouts for safety reasons?

Set the distance that triggers the announcement
Allowing users to set the distance for triggering announcements would be beneficial. For instance, an announcement could appear 1km before reaching the reported radar location.

speedometer alert
I would love the speedometer sound alert to have an option for keeping the sound on until you drop back down to the speed limit. No it chimes very softly once when you ecceed the limit and then nothing. There should be sound options and volume options too. With all the other alerts i often miss the small chime telling me im going to fast. Then theres no way to know when im back at the limit unless i keep looking at the little speedometer on the screen. The more i can do without taking my eyes off the…
5 votesThank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze already displays a speedometer, including both your driving speed and the speed limit for the road you’re currently on.

Alert "Traffic ahead" not helping...
The voice alert "Traffic ahead" should be hear at least 5 seconds before the traffic. Otherwise it misses the point - I can see the traffic by myself...
If it comes sooner it could help preventing unnecessary emergency brakes18 votes -
Live Distance to next toll barrier
Like on the BMW GPS system, where you have an indication of the distance of the next toll barrier.
As the controls are mainly in the 10km before the toll barrier so it is easy to get stopped, this indication would bring much more safety.1 vote -
terrorist alert
recently people were injured in tel aviv, israel when a terrorist stabbed then as they waited in a traffic jam. waze should have an alert system to notify travelers of terrorist activity in a close vicinity. this could save lives.

Speed bumps alert option
I suggest to adding the "speed bump" alert inform option, too. Today we can't inform it. There's just the voice alert, but not the option to inform one.

Give real km distance vs destination - not straight line
When entering the destination address please give a real distance by road and not in straight line.
This would avoid to underestimate the time needed to reach the destination when we are just planning a travel in advance.3 votes
